Abstract:Renal transplantation is a highly efficacious therapeutic intervention for individuals experiencing organ dysfunction or disability. It plays a crucial role in enhancing their survival rates and improving their overall quality of life. [ 1 ] Nevertheless, delayed graft function (DGF) presents a challenge during the perioperative period and is strongly linked to complications such as allograft rejection, infection, and unfavorable long-term graft outcomes. [ 2 ] Studies indicated that ischemia-reperfusion injury and immune responses to transplants are major contributors to DGF, which in turn increases the risk of acute renal rejection. [ 2 ]
