Abstract:We refine a recent result of Drury concerning the optimal ratio between the norm and numerical radius of a bounded linear operator $T$ with numerical range lying in a sector of a circular disk. In particular, characterization is given to the operators attaining the optimal ratio, and properties of such operators are explored.

Abstract:We generalize several inequalities involving powers of the numerical radius for product of two operators acting on a Hilbert space. For any $A, B, X\in \mathbb{B}(\mathscr{H})$ such that $A,B$ are positive, we establish some numerical radius inequalities for $A^\alpha XB^\alpha$ and $A^\alpha X B^{1-\alpha}\,\,(0 \leq \alpha \leq 1)$ and Heinz means under mild conditions.

Abstract:In this paper, we begin by showing a new generalization of the celebrated Cauchy-Schwarz inequality for the inner product. Then, this generalization is used to present some bounds for the Euclidean operator radius and the Euclidean operator norm. These bounds will be used then to obtain some bounds for the numerical radius in a way that extends many well-known results in many cases. The obtained results will be compared with the existing literature through numerical examples and rigorous approaches, whoever is applicable. In this context, more than 15 numerical examples will be given to support the advantage of our findings. Among many consequences, will show that if $T$ is an accretive-dissipative bounded linear operator on a Hilbert space, then ${{\left\| \left( \Re T,\Im T \right) \right\|}_{e}}=\omega \left( T \right)$, where $\omega(\cdot), \|(\cdot,\cdot)\|_e, \Re T$ and $\Im T$ denote, respectively, the numerical radius, the Euclidean norm, the real part and the imaginary part.

Abstract:Let $T$ be a bounded linear operator on a complex Hilbert space $\mathscr{H}.$ We obtain various lower and upper bounds for the numerical radius of $T$ by developing the Euclidean operator radius bounds of a pair of operators, which are stronger than the existing ones. In particular, we develop an inequality that improves on the inequality $$ w(T) \geq \frac12 {\|T\|}+\frac14 {\left|\|Re(T)\|-\frac12 \|T\| \right|} + \frac14 { \left| \|Im(T)\|-\frac12 \|T\| \right|}.$$ Various equality conditions of the existing numerical radius inequalities are also provided. Further, we study the numerical radius inequalities of $2\times 2$ off-diagonal operator matrices. Applying the numerical radius bounds of operator matrices, we develop the upper bounds of $w(T)$ by using $t$-Aluthge transform. In particular, we improve the well known inequality $$ w(T) \leq \frac12 {\|T\|}+ \frac12{ w(\widetilde{T})}, $$ where $\widetilde{T}=|T|^{1/2}U|T|^{1/2}$ is the Aluthge transform of $T$ and $T=U|T|$ is the polar decomposition of $T$.

Abstract:Employing the Orlicz functions we extend the Buzano's inequality which is a refinement of the Cauchy-Schwarz inequality. Also using the Orlicz functions we obtain several numerical radius inequalities for a bounded linear operator as well as the products of operators. We deduce different new upper bounds for the numerical radius. It is shown that \begin{eqnarray*} {w(T)} \leq \sqrt[n]{ \log \left[ \frac{1}{2^{n-1}} e^{w(T^n)} + \left( 1-\frac{1}{2^{n-1}}\right) e^{\|T\|^n}\right]} &\leq& \|T\| \quad \forall n=2,3,4, \ldots \end{eqnarray*} where $w(T)$ and $\|T\|$ denote the numerical radius and the operator norm of a bounded linear operator $T$, respectively.

Abstract:Operator matrices have played a significant role in studying Hilbert space operators. In this paper, we discuss further properties of operator matrices and present new estimates for the operator norms and numerical radii of such operators. Moreover, operator matrices whose real and imaginary parts are positive will be discussed, and sharper bounds will be shown for such class.

We show that if $A$ is a bounded linear operator on $\mathcal{H},$ then $w(A) \leq \frac12 \|A\|^t \left\| |A|^{1-t}+|A^*|^{1-t} \right\| \quad \text{for all } t\in [0,1],$ which refines as well as generalizes the existing ones.

Abstract:In this paper, we achieve new and improved numerical radius inequalities of operators defined on a Hilbert space by using Orlicz function and Hermite-Hadamard inequality. The upper bounds of various inequalities involving numerical radii have been obtained. Finally, we compute an upper bound of the numerical radius for block matrices of the form $\begin{bmatrix}O & P\\Q & O \end{bmatrix}$, where $P, Q$ are any bounded linear operators on a Hilbert space.

Abstract:In this paper, we employ a generalization of the Boas–Bellman inequality for inner products, as developed by Mitrinović–Pečarić–Fink, to derive several upper bounds for the 2p-th power with p≥1 of the numerical radius of the off-diagonal operator matrix 0AB*0 for any bounded linear operators A and B on a complex Hilbert space H. While the general matrix is not symmetric, a special case arises when B=A*, where the matrix becomes symmetric. This symmetry plays a crucial role in the derivation of our bounds, illustrating the importance of symmetric structures in operator theory.

Abstract:In this paper, we aim to establish a range of numerical radius inequalities. These discoveries will bring us to a recently validated numerical radius inequality and will present numerical radius inequalities that exhibit enhanced precision when compared to those recently established for particular cases. Additionally, we employ the generalized Aluthge transform for operators to deduce a set of inequalities pertaining to the numerical radius. Moreover, we set forth various upper and lower bounds for the numerical radius of $2\times 2$ operator matrices, refining and expanding upon the bounds determined previously.

Abstract:Let re(S) be the Euclidean spectral radius associated with a q -tuple S=(S1,...,Sq) of bounded linear operators on a complex Hilbert space. The principal objective of our study is to establish various compelling upper bounds involving re(⋅) . In particular, our findings demonstrate that, for all t∈[0,1] , we have re(S)≤12max{ω(S),ω(Δt(S))}+12‖S‖12‖S‖e12. Here, Δt(S) represents the generalized spherical Aluthge transform of S , while the notations ω(⋅) , ‖⋅‖ , and ‖⋅‖e pertain to the joint numerical radius, joint operator norm, and Euclidean operator norm, respectively, of operators in Hilbert spaces. Furthermore, we extend the notions of spherical and Duggal transforms and derive multiple upper bounds for re(S) in relation to these transforms. Additionally, there are some applications that are derived as well.
