Abstract:Shallow seismic exploration is the unique available method to offer first-hand data for geological engineering of urban construction,and the artificial seismic source is the source of exploration signal.Shallow exploration refers to an exploration whose stratum depth ranges from the surface to underground 500 m,and such stratum depth is involved with areas of urban engineering construction.Searching for a suitable artificial seismic source has drawn an increasing concern in this field.In seismic exploration,an artificial source detector is used to collect information of seismic signal,and a computer analysis is used to understand the distribution of the stratigraphic structure.This work attempts to design a mechanical shocking device applicable to urban construction,so as to effectively provide data for stratal configuration of the target area.Three commonly used artificial sources are explosive,vibroseis,and hammer.To overcome three issues of available artificial seismic sources,this device has realized three design requirements,(1) Enough impact force to guarantee the credibility of the receive signal.Aiming at issue that hammer impact energy is weak,the amount and elastic coefficient of compression spring in the system are changed to adjust the excitation energy.(2) Convenience and efficiency.Vibroseis is complex and expensive,whereas this device is simple,reliable and easy to operate.(3) Safety and pollution-free.By means of the spring force of its own gravity,the impact hammer applies on the force plate to avoid the explosive shock wave and the environmental pollution caused by explosion source.In addition,the verifications of simulation and field tests are performed to meet requirements of two validation standards,(1) Finite element analysis is conducted for critical parts to ensure the load capability for a favorable operation.Hyperworks software is conducted for the drive system,and the analysis result of gear and rack joint part at the average load of 4500 N and maximum load of 6000 N is in a reasonable allowance range of the material design.(2) The result of the field test exhibits that the device execution can meet the depth requirement of the shallow engineering exploration.
