Abstract:The development of perovskite quantum dots (PQDs) toward complexified multicationic structure are limited by the few availabilities of A-site cation due to their unsuitable radius. Oversized or undersized cation impact on perovskite structure has become detrimental for PQDs structural stabilization and electroluminescence efficiency. A suitable-sized cation is actively sought for to both mitigate perovskite defect formation and optimize charge carrier confinement within the PQDs. By contrast of Cesium (Cs) or Formamidine (FA), exposed to degradation pathways, Guanidinium (GA)-doping has shown to be a suitable candidate due to its advantageous radius and absence of dipole moment. GA triple nitrogen enable to both passivate the PbBr6 octahedra as well as defect via H-bond formation and entropically stabilize the perovskite for high monodispersed PQDs. Furthermore, GA insertion into the PQDs lattice is enthalpically facilitated by the presence of smaller Cs and Br atoms. We have synthesized a GA-free Cs-FA PQDs reference in which is doped GA. Our triple cation system exhibits substantially improved optical properties and was applied for the fabricated of a LED device. The optimized triple cation PQDs PeLEDs champion device exhibiting an external quantum efficiency of 5.87 % as well as a luminescence of 13 726 cd.m-2.
