Abstract:Cognitive constructivism is the most active school in the learning theory in recent years. Its ideas on learning have produced a deep influence on educational reform and development. This theory chiefly studies the sociality,the initiative,and the situation on learning. It stresses the point that a learner must actively construct a meaning on the basis of his or her experiences and of his or her strategy of information processing through interaction with the outside world. Applied to teaching practice,it lays emphasis upon the points that teaching should be conducted with students as centre;that teachers should become organizers and promoters in students' learning;that teaching materials are the object for students to actively actively explore and construct meanings. Abstract:Constructivist learning theory posits that learners develop their comprehension and knowledge of the world by reflecting on their experiences. This theory stresses the importance of active, learner-centered education, in which students develop critical thinking skills, solve problems, and build upon their prior knowledge. Constructivist methodologies can substantially improve language acquisition and proficiency in the context of English instruction. This paper investigates the fundamental principles of constructivist learning theory and evaluates its practical applications in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) instruction. The efficacy of critical strategies, including scaffolding, authentic tasks, and collaborative learning, are emphasized in cultivating a dynamic and interactive learning environment. In addition, the adaptability of constructivist methods in various educational environments is examined, allowing educators to customize their teaching strategies to accommodate the distinctive requirements of English language learners. This paper endeavors to provide educators with a comprehensive framework for integrating constructivist principles into their English teaching practices, thereby improving student engagement and language mastery through thoroughly examining literature and case studies.

Abstract:The attention in Listening processes has switched from the text to the listener, from the process of identification to the process of understanding, and from the decontextualized memorization of definitions to developing language competence of students. This conception is then supported by the theory of congnitive constructivism which sees learning as the process of constructing new knowledge. This paper aims to explore activities which can be applied to develop listening language skills in a context of authentic learning within constructivist learning approach. The learning activity will be based on the features of constructivism which views learning as an active process and knowledge is not absorbed passively but it is invented by the learners. By integrating the top-down and bottom-up listening processes and cognitive constructifist learning activities, this process will facilitate students in elaborating their previous knowledge and constructing new knowledge.

Abstract:This study discusses a number of influences related to teachers' understanding of the application of new literature theory and communicative learning, such as teacher trust, teacher education, and teacher professional development. The research is literature-based, with documentary data collection and analysis methods using content analysis. This research focuses on important issues that can help in the development of foreign language teaching curriculum. The focus of discussion in this article includes the lack of understanding of new literacy theories and communicative language teaching methods, curriculum understanding, teacher professional development through new literacy theories, and ideological tensions arising from the foreign language teaching gap in Indonesia. Implementation of the contemporary curriculum may differ between cities and villages. The lack of language activities, especially listening and speaking skills, in the old curriculum is what causes apathy and boredom among students and prevents them from interacting with their communities.

Abstract:A communicative approach has been included in Indonesia's English curriculum since the introduction of the 1984 Curriculum. However, despite its popularity, CLT (Communicative Language Teaching) posited some cultural constraints. These constraints are caused by different views of the learning and teaching process in different cultures. This study explores the challenges of implementing such a teaching approach from a constructivist point of view. The primary aim of this article is to provide insightful information about those challenges which may, then, contribute to a deeper understanding of the issue. The descriptive qualitative approach was used in this study. The study concludes that cultural constraints to the implementation of CLT in the Indonesian context do not necessarily come from cultural aspects. Using a constructivist paradigm, this essay provides an alternative explanation on why students are reluctant to engage in a communicative approach in the Indonesian context: (1) the failure of representation to occur in the teaching instructions and teaching materials during the learning process, and (2) identity-caused reluctance to communicative competence.

Abstract:The social constructivist approach is one of the dominant perspective that flourished the learner centered pedagogical model in education. This model of learning aims to imply the learners' autonomy and flexibility in instructional setting. This social constructivist highlights the learners' autonomy, reflective thinking, problem solving, collaborative learning, scaffolding as well as discussion and debates as the major learning principles in education. In the teaching learning discourse, the social constructivist learning model established the critical, problem solving and collaborative learning strategies to enhance the meaningful leaning achievement. And, the intra and interpersonal level of interaction play the crucial role in promoting the meaningful learning for tutoring process. This theory claims that the sign (language), ZPD, MKO and scaffolding are the key variables for the constructivist pedagogical model of learning. In this process, students are in the central place where they play the role of active thinker, co-constructor and active participant in learning process. Another side, teachers are only as the facilitator, guide, and stimulators within the whole instructional process in education.

Abstract:The use of English in all aspects, especially in the world of education in Indonesia, has become more popular. Indonesia has a strategic location geographically, the need to be able to communicate in English is inevitable. This chapter was focusing on the foreign-language learning of Indonesian people regarding their interaction with people from other countries and cultures, which is using English. There were several previous researches taken, to be discussed in this chapter in supporting the idea that interaction with people from different countries and cultures would be able to promote the process of foreign-language (English) learning in verbal communication, especially for Indonesian people. Researches came up with the results that cross-cultural communication of Indonesian showing that the circumstances were giving a positive impact for their work and life, either professionally or personally. The verbal interaction should be conducted well to a better understanding. In order to communicate well, one should be able to master the international language, in this case is English.

Abstract:This study aimed to examine social constructivism as a learning theory and its implications for teaching methods, student motivation, and the whole teaching/learning process. Social constructivism is a collaborative learning approach that emphasizes student involvement, discussion, and knowledge exchange. According to social constructionism, we never know universally true or untrue, good or bad, right or wrong. Each of us invents our universe based on our impressions of reality. Language, communication, and speech are social constructions in social constructionism and occupy a pivotal position in the interactive process we comprehend the world and ourselves. It is the teacher's responsibility to use learner-centered and collaborative teaching approaches. The underlying factor is that students collaborate in groups to share ideas, solve problems, or create something new to add to their existing knowledge. This learning theory stresses active interaction among learners, the teacher, and other components of the teaching-learning process rather than teacher monotony in the classroom. It also exhibits pupils to remember facts they uncover and construct themselves rather than those the teacher tells them.

Abstract:Language has generally been characterized as a tool of communication between people, the mean by which man expresses his feelings and thoughts. It has been the subject of research from various angles and methodological standards that largely reflect the variety of dimensions from which it can be studied but also the prevailing analysis trends. Language is also seen as a social process, as a way of creating interpersonal relationships and expressing emotions. Therefore, integrated language teaching takes into account the social character of the language and relies on it. The linguistic and cultural diversity within the European Union has created new demands for multilingual European citizens. To meet the new requirements, it is necessary, educational strategies to be designed by those who actively involved in foreign language education in various countries in a new context, which will ensure the “productivity” of learning foreign languages in the implementation of foreign language education. There is an urgent need to promote the process of communicative teaching, so that the student who learns the specific foreign language transmits his own concepts, in the cases, interacting and trying to adapt to the common knowledge and even the linguistic ability of a person that this language is his/her mother tongue. The approach to the service of the communicative type of teaching emphasizes the communicative function of the language and tries to create in the students the opportunities for functional use of the language code, similar to those they will encounter outside the classroom. Students need to connect with each other to build friendly relationships within the classroom that becomes a student community. This effort also includes this paper, which introduces the model of socio-cognitive learning theory in the context of the communicative approach to the teaching and learning of foreign languages.

Abstract:The aim of this research is to find out whether the constructivist theory is effective to enrich students’ mastery of literary work or not. This research is classified as quantitative research which is true experimental design, the data collected in the form of numbers and the data statistically analyzed. In this research, the writer used a sample of students in the parallel class of English Education students in the 3th semester who had learned the subject of Introduction to Literature. One class randomly chosen from 4 clasess as the experimental class and control class and the t-test observe used in analyzing the data. The research finding shows that students were given a pre-test to what extent they understood about English Literature, from the results obtained, it was known that there were differences in mastery of the field of literature in each individual. Then, the students are given treatment using the constructivist theory referring to the students' learning experiences about the work of English Literature, given exposure and then post-test results which can show the experimental group gets the majority of scores higher than the control group. This means that there are significant differences between students' interest in learning about English Literature has increased in mastery of the topic and the overall phenomena that accompany it. In other words, students who are taught using Constructivist theory master the topic or material better, even they can enjoy the learning process more than Students who are not taught using Constructivist theory

Abstract:This research examines the correlation between the Native-Speaking Foreign Language Teachers' Professional Competencies, Teaching Methods, and Attitude Towards Learning in the Foreign Language Learning Quality in a Cooperation Education Unit or Satuan Pendidikan Kerjasama (SPK) in Surabaya. This quantitative research involved 144 students from the fourth, fifth, and sixth grades as the respondents or research participants. The data of this research were analyzed using the Partial Least Square (PLS) on SmartPLS 3.0 application. The results show that the Native-Speaking Foreign Language Teachers' Professional Competencies significantly influenced Teaching Methods. Furthermore, Teaching methods significantly influenced the Attitude Towards Learning, while the Attitude Towards Learning significantly influenced Foreign Language Learning Quality. Teaching Methods have also proven to be a mediator in the influence of Attitude Towards Learning (VAF=0,1965 or 19,65%). Based on the research findings, schools and teachers need to emphasize the professional competencies of native-speaking foreign language teachers and teaching methods to improve the quality of foreign language learning.

It is, however, one that is frequently misunderstood, has diverse meanings ascribed to it, and is often used by advocates to caricature other approaches inaccurately. The learning theory of constructivism and pedagogical theory of constructivism do not necessitate one another although educators frequently consider them one and the same. This paper underscores how educators in the twenty-first century are increasingly compelled to accept constructivist pedagogy. It further reflects on a challenges this poses for learning, concerns regarding constructivism as the dominant pedagogical tool, and clarity with respect to the consideration of alternative approaches while offering specific reflections for classroom teachers throughout.

Abstract:This article is intended to highlight the linguistic principle proposed by anthropological linguists, “Language is a mirror of the culture.” The purpose of study attempts to explore foreign language teaching and learning from the perspective of language shapes thought and to improve language learning through a cross a cross-cultural communication. The first part of this article, the linguistic principle, is reflected in the Sapir–Whorf hypothesis or the Whorfian hypothesis briefly highlighted. Second part focuses on the practical use of the Whorfian hypothesis for teaching English as a foreign language (TEFL), especially cross culture understanding (CCU) and the English teaching for specific purposes (ESP).
