Abstract:Renal cell carcinoma (RCC), also known as renal cancer, is a highly malignant tumor that occurs in the urinary system and is one of the most prevalent tumors, accounting for approximately 2% to 3% of all cases and comprising 80% to 90% of renal malignant tumors. [ 1 ] The etiology of RCC remains incompletely understood, although smoking, obesity, hypertension, and chronic kidney disease have been identified as the most significant risk factors. [ 2 ] Despite advancements in RCC treatment, its mortality rate remains elevated. [ 3 ] Consequently, there is an urgent need to identify pivotal regulators which influence the malignancy of RCC.
