Abstract:With the arrival of the Internet of Things era, the demand for tactile sensors continues to grow. However, traditional sensors mostly require an external power supply to meet real-time monitoring, which brings many drawbacks such as short service life, environmental pollution, and difficulty in replacement, which greatly limits their practical applications. Therefore, the development of a passive self-power supply of tactile sensors has become a research hotspot in academia and the industry. In this review, the development of self-powered tactile sensors in the past several years is introduced and discussed. First, the sensing principle of self-powered tactile sensors is introduced. After that, the main performance parameters of the tactile sensors are briefly discussed. Finally, the potential application prospects of the tactile sensors are discussed in detail.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The problems that this paper attempts to solve mainly focus on the limitations of traditional tactile sensors. Specifically, most traditional tactile sensors require an external power source to achieve real - time monitoring, which brings many disadvantages, such as short service life, environmental pollution and difficult replacement, etc. These disadvantages greatly limit their practical applications. Therefore, the development of a self - powered tactile sensor without the support of an external power source has become a hot research direction in academia and industry. The paper mentions that self - powered tactile sensors have the following advantages: - **Higher flexibility**: Self - powered tactile sensors are lighter and smaller in volume than traditional pressure sensors. - **Higher pressure resolution and spatial resolution**: Self - powered tactile sensors can provide higher pressure resolution and spatial resolution. - **Higher sensitivity**: Self - powered tactile sensors show higher sensitivity in different application scenarios. - **Environment - friendly**: Self - powered tactile sensors can convert mechanical energy, thermal energy, wave energy, etc. in the environment into electrical energy to achieve self - power supply, reducing the need for batteries and environmental impact. The paper also discusses the main performance parameters of self - powered tactile sensors, including sensitivity, pressure detection range and pressure resolution, and explores their potential application prospects, especially in fields such as aerospace, ocean engineering, unmanned submersibles, oil and gas drilling and underground mining. In short, this paper aims to introduce the working principle, main performance indicators and potential applications of self - powered tactile sensors by reviewing their development in recent years, in order to promote further research and development in this field.
