What problem does this paper attempt to address?

The paper was initially aimed at studying the anticancer activity of thyroid integrin αvβ3 antagonists mono-triazole and di-triazole tetraiodothyroacetic acid, linked through polyethylene glycols (PEG), in glioblastoma. However, subsequent investigations revealed instances of image fabrication or manipulation in the paper, including image manipulation, reuse, and relabeling. Since the authors were affiliated with Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, the institution requested the retraction of the paper. Although the authors submitted amendments, they failed to adequately address the issues present in the original images, raising concerns about the validity of the experiments. Ultimately, the Editor-in-Chief of the journal "Cancers" approved the retraction of the paper. The authors disagreed with this retraction decision.
