Abstract:It has been lately proven that dynamic responses of nanostructures are highly affected by temporal nonlocality in addition to spatial one. In this investigation, for the first time, researchers have utilized a new type of viscoelasticity called fractional nonlocal time-space strain gradient viscoelasticity to address the issue of wave propagation in viscoelastic nanoshells made of functionally graded material (FGM). This type of viscoelasticity goes beyond the traditional elastic theory's lengthy wavelength and time limitations For this purpose, the first-order shear deformation theory (FSDT) is used to examine medium-thick shells. On the basis of Hamilton's principle, the motion equations are generated and then the constitutive relations of the fractional time-space nonlocal strain gradient viscoelasticity are incorporated into the motion equations. This leads to the formulation of equations governing the physics of the problem. Analytical solutions are then obtained to determine the wave frequency and phase velocity of the dispersed waves. The findings from this study reveal that increasing the nonlocal parameter leads to a considerable decrease in the phase velocity. This effect is attributed to the interplay between the spatial and temporal nonlocalities. In other words, this decreasing effect is more powerful than the former one which was attributed to the bare stiffness-softening mechanism.
