Abstract:As Moore's law approaches its limit, traditional silicon-based planar circuits are evolving intelligence and flexibility, which imposing new demands on the manufacturing of precise circuits. Aerosol jet printing (AJP) can print conformal patterns on the three-dimensional curved surfaces, attributed to its higher working distance and greater solid content of ink. However, the traditional conductive ink for AJP such as silver nanoparticles (AgNPs), requires a post-processing temperature exceeding 150°C. Such a high temperature renders it incompatible with many kinds of flexible substrates such as PET, and restricts the application of AJP. In this paper, reduced graphene oxide (RGO) and AgNPs were composited to produce the excellent conductive ink for AJP, and conductive patterns were obtained using pulsed light sintering (PLS), the resistivity had decreased by 53.4% compared to the traditional ink. Furthermore, the influence of carrier gas flow, sheath gas flow, and nozzle shape on the pattern morphology were explored. The overspray of AJP was solved by process parameters optimization, the key role of focusing ratio was revealed and achieved the stable printing of 8 $\mu \mathrm{m}$ path finally. The influence of nozzle shape was explained, which achieved stable printing of conformal circuits on PI, PET, acrylic resin and glass. This study provides new ideas for the ink materials and post-processing methods of AJP and greatly expands its application prospects.
