Abstract:Patients with hemiplegia typically exhibit the weakness in the muscles strength of the ankle. The rehabilitation robots have significantly accelerated the rehabilitation process for patients with motor dysfunction. Wearable cable-driven exoskeletons show advantages, including light weight, low cost, and energy efficiency. We have designed the novel cable-driven exoskeleton capable of providing both plantar flexion and dorsiflexion assistance. Subsequently, we utilized an iterative adaptive threshold algorithm and peak detection algorithm to real-time detect human gait mode, and employed a hierarchical adaptive force-position hybrid control method to control the exoskeleton. Finally, we conducted preliminary validation of the mechanical structure and algorithm of our study on three healthy subjects. Experimental testing shows that the mechanism efficiently lowers metabolic expenditure during walking.
