Abstract:In this paper, we first construct the homogeneous $q$-shift operator $\widetilde{E}(a,b;D_{q})$ and the homogeneous $q$-difference operator $\widetilde{L}(a,b; \theta_{xy})$. We then apply these operators in order to represent and investigate generalized Cauchy and a general form of Hahn polynomials. We derive some $q$-identities such as: generating functions, extended generating functions, Mehler's formula and Roger's formula for these $q$-polynomials.

Abstract:This note summarizes certain properties common to Macdonald, Koornwinder and Arthamonov-Shakirov $q$-difference operators, relating to the duality or bi-spectrality properties of their eigenfunctions. This results in Pieri operators which, in the $q$-Whittaker limit, are relativistic difference Toda type Hamiltonians which have a related quantum cluster algebra structure known as the quantum Q-system. The genus-2 result explained here is new.

A raising operator formula for Macdonald polynomials

Abstract:We give an explicit raising operator formula for the modified Macdonald polynomials $\tilde{H}_{\mu }(X;q,t)$, which follows from our recent formula for $\nabla$ on an LLT polynomial and the Haglund-Haiman-Loehr formula expressing modified Macdonald polynomials as sums of LLT polynomials. Our method just as easily yields a formula for a family of symmetric functions $\tilde{H}^{1,n}(X;q,t)$ that we call $1,n$-Macdonald polynomials, which reduce to a scalar multiple of $\tilde{H}_{\mu}(X;q,t)$ when $n=1$. We conjecture that the coefficients of $1,n$-Macdonald polynomials in terms of Schur functions belong to $\mathbb{N}[q,t]$, generalizing Macdonald positivity.

Abstract:We describe a way to study and compute Pieri rules for wreath Macdonald polynomials using the quantum toroidal algebra. The Macdonald pairing can be naturally generalized to the wreath setting, but the wreath Macdonald polynomials are no longer collinear with their duals. We establish the relationship between these dual polynomials and the quantum toroidal algebra, and we outline a way to compute norm formulas. None of the aforementioned formulas are successfully computed in this paper.

Abstract:In this paper, we first construct the Cauchy q-shift operator T(a, b;D xy ) and the Cauchy q-difference operator L(a, b; θ xy ). We then apply these operators in order to represent and investigate some new families of q-polynomials which are defined in this paper. We derive some q-identities such as generating functions, symmetry properties and Rogers-type formulas for these q-polynomials. We also give an application for the q-exponential operator R(bD q ).
Delta Operators on Almost Symmetric Functions

Abstract:We construct $\Delta$-operators $F[\Delta]$ on the space of almost symmetric functions $\mathscr{P}_{as}^{+}$. These operators extend the usual $\Delta$-operators on the space of symmetric functions $\Lambda \subset \mathscr{P}_{as}^{+}$ central to Macdonald theory. The $F[\Delta]$ operators are constructed as certain limits of symmetric functions in the Cherednik operators $Y_i$ and act diagonally on the stable-limit non-symmetric Macdonald functions $\widetilde{E}_{(\mu|\lambda)}(x_1,x_2,\ldots;q,t).$ Using properties of Ion-Wu limits, we are able to compute commutation relations for the $\Delta$-operators $F[\Delta]$ and many of the other operators on $\mathscr{P}_{as}^{+}$ introduced by Ion-Wu. Using these relations we show that there is an action of $\mathbb{B}_{q,t}^{\text{ext}}$ on almost symmetric functions which we show is isomorphic to the polynomial representation of $\mathbb{B}_{q,t}^{\text{ext}}$ constructed by González-Gorsky-Simental.

Remarks on $q$-difference opers arising from quantum toroidal algebras

Abstract:We propose a conjectural correspondence between the spectra of the Bethe algebra for the quantum toroidal $\mathfrak{gl}_2$ algebra on relaxed Verma modules, and $q$-hypergeometric opers with apparent singularities. We introduce alongside the notion of apparent singularities for linear $q$-difference operators and discuss some of their properties. We also touch on a generalization to $\mathfrak{gl}_n$.

Abstract:Two sets of mutually commuting $q-$difference operators $x_i$ and $y_j$, $i,j=1, ...,N$ such that $x_i$ and $y_i$ generate a homomorphic image of the $q-$Onsager algebra for each $i$ are introduced. The common polynomial eigenfunctions of each set are found to be entangled product of elementary Pochhammer functions in $N$ variables and $N+3$ parameters. Under certain conditions on the parameters, they form two `dual' bases of polynomials in $N$ variables. The action of each operator with respect to its dual basis is block tridiagonal. The overlap coefficients between the two dual bases are expressed as entangled products of $q-$Racah polynomials and satisfy an orthogonality relation. The overlap coefficients between either one of these bases and the multivariable monomial basis are also considered. One obtains in this case entangled products of dual $q-$Krawtchouk polynomials. Finally, the `split' basis in which the two families of operators act as block bidiagonal matrices is also provided.

Strong Frobenius structures associated with q-difference operators

Abstract:The notion of strong Frobenius structure is classically studied in the theory of $p$-adic differential operators. In the present work, we introduce a new definition of the notion of strong Frobenius structure for $q$-difference operators. The relevance of this definition is supported by two main results. The first one deals with \emph{confluence}. We show that if the $q$-difference operator $L_q$ has a strong Frobenius structure for a prime $p$ with period $h$ and if $L$ is the $p$-adic differential operator obtained from $L_q$ by letting $q$ tend to 1, then $L$ has a strong Frobenius structure for $p$ with period $h$. The second one deals with congruence modulo cyclotomic polynomials. We show that if $f(q,z)\in\mathbb{Z}[q][[z]]$ is a solution of a $q$-difference operator having strong Frobenius structure for $p$ then $f(q,z)$ satisfies some congruences modulo the $p$-th cyclotomic polynomial. Another definition of strong Frobenius structures associated with $q$-difference operators has been introduced by André and Di Vizio and we also point out why their definition is not suitable for our applications: confluence and congruence modulo cyclotomic polynomials. Finally, we show that some $q$-hypergeometric operators of order 1 have a strong Frobenius strong for infinitely many primes numbers.

Abstract:Using vertex operators we study Macdonald symmetric functions of rectangular shapes and their connection with the q-Dyson Laurent polynomial. We find a vertex operator realization of Macdonald functions and give a generalized Frobenius formula for them. As byproducts of the realization, we find a q-Dyson constant term orthogonality relation which generalizes a conjecture due to Kadell (2000), and we generalize Matsumoto's hyperdeterminant formula for rectangular Jack functions to Macdonald functions.

Abstract:In this paper, we apply a general family of basic (or q-) polynomials with double q-binomial coefficients as well as some homogeneous q-operators in order to construct several q-difference equations involving seven variables. We derive the Rogers type and the extended Rogers type formulas as well as the Srivastava-Agarwal-type bilinear generating functions for the general q-polynomials, which generalize the generating functions for the Cigler polynomials. We also derive a class of mixed generating functions by means of the aforementioned q-difference equations. The various results, which we have derived in this paper, are new and sufficiently general in character. Moreover, the generating functions presented here are potentially applicable not only in the study of the general q-polynomials, which they have generated, but indeed also in finding solutions of the associated q-difference equations. Finally, we remark that it will be a rather trivial and inconsequential exercise to produce the so-called (p,q)-variations of the q-results, which we have investigated here, because the additional forced-in parameter p is obviously redundant.

Abstract:Many interesting families of polynomials are indexed by permutations or related objects, and are defined by applying divided difference operators, modified by polynomials, on some initial base case. The fact that these constructions produce well-defined polynomials is based on the applied modified divided difference operators satisfying the braid relations. We thus determine all the families of polynomial divided difference operators that satisfy the braid relations.

Abstract:We show that the numerators of bigraded symmetric orbifold Hilbert series are the (transpose of the) matrix of $q,t$-Kostka Macdonald coefficients $K_d = \left( K_{\lambda \mu} \left( q,t \right) \right)_{\lambda, \mu \in \mathcal{P}_d}$ for partitions $\lambda = \mu$ in the set of partitions $\mathcal{P}_d$ of odd positive numbers $d$ with $d=2n-1$ and $n \in \mathbb{N}$, such that $\lambda = \mu = \left( 1 \right)$ if $n=1$, and $\lambda = \mu = \left( n, 1^{n-1} \right)$ if $n > 1$. These polynomials are also shown to be eigenvalues of a differential operator arising from a recurrence relation and acting on the Hilbert series.

Abstract:The Stieltjes-Wigert polynomials, which correspond to an indeterminate moment problem on the positive half-line, are eigenfunctions of a second order q-difference operator. We consider the orthogonality measures for which the difference operator is symmetric in the corresponding weighted $L^2$-spaces. These measures are exactly the solutions to the q-Pearson <a class="link-external link-http" href="http://equation.In" rel="external noopener nofollow">this http URL</a> the case of discrete and absolutely continuous measures the difference operator is essentially self-adjoint, and the corresponding spectral decomposition is given explicitly. In particular, we find an orthogonal set of q-Bessel functions complementing the Stieltjes-Wigert polynomials to an orthogonal basis for $L^2(\mu)$ when $\mu$ is a discrete orthogonality measure solving the q-Pearson equation. To obtain the spectral decomposition of the difference operator in case of an absolutely continuous orthogonality measure we use the results from the discrete case combined with direct integral techniques.

Abstract:We develop a quasisymmetric analogue of the combinatorial theory of Schubert polynomials and the associated divided difference operators. Our counterparts are "forest polynomials", and a new family of linear operators, whose theory of compositions is governed by forests and the "Thompson monoid". Our approach extends naturally to $m$-colored quasisymmetric functions. We then give several applications of our theory to fundamental quasisymmetric functions, the study of quasisymmetric coinvariant rings and their associated harmonics, and positivity results for various expansions. In particular we resolve a conjecture of Aval-Bergeron-Li regarding quasisymmetric harmonics.

Abstract:When one expands a Schur function in terms of the irreducible characters of the symplectic (or orthogonal) group, the coefficient of the trivial character is 0 unless the indexing partition has an appropriate form. A number of q-analogues of this fact were conjectured in math.QA/0112035; the present paper proves most of those conjectures, as well as some new identities suggested by the proof technique. The proof involves showing that a nonsymmetric version of the relevant integral is annihilated by a suitable ideal of the affine Hecke algebra, and that any such annihilated functional satisfies the desired vanishing property. This does not, however, give rise to vanishing identities for the standard nonsymmetric Macdonald and Koornwinder polynomials; we discuss the required modification to these polynomials to support such results.

Abstract:One variant of the $q$-Catalan polynomials is defined in terms of Gaussian polynomials by $\mathcal{C}_k(q)=\genfrac{[}{]}{0pt}{}{2k}{k}_q-q\genfrac{[}{]}{0pt}{}{2k}{k+1}_q$. Liu studied congruences of the form $\sum_{k=0}^{n-1} q^k\mathcal{C}_k$ modulo the cyclotomic polynomial $\Phi_n(q)^2$, provided that $n\equiv\pm 1\pmod3$. Apparently the case $n\equiv 0\pmod3$ has been missing from the literature. It is our primary purpose to fill this gap by the current work. In addition, we discuss certain fascinating link to Dirichlet character sum identities.
