Abstract:A corner reflector serves as a typical passive radar interference object within a sea battlefield. To enhance the accuracy of scattering calculations for corner reflectors, this research investigates the wave motion exhibited by a floating corner reflector on the sea surface. By utilizing the normal direction and height of the central panel on the surface, the attitude and height of the corner reflector are determined. Additionally, probability distribution statistics are conducted on the normal direction under different sea surface conditions. This study refines the conventional TD-SBR method to enable comprehensive time-domain scattering calculations based on the established dynamic model of angular reflection. It further obtains time-domain scattering results of the angular reflector when subjected to modulated Gaussian pulse incidence with varying parameters. The statistical analysis of the sea surface normal vectors reveals that the pitch angle distribution of the central panel’s normal vector follows a Weibull distribution when the wind direction angle is either 0° or 90°. When the wind direction angle is 90°, the azimuth angle of the central panel’s normal vector closely approximates the Beta distribution, while it tends towards the Laplace distribution at 0°. The calculation results of time-domain scattering for angular reflection demonstrate that considering the wave motion-induced scattering in angle reflectors renders the echo more intricate and aligns more closely with real-world scenarios. This research presents a viable approach for realistically modeling the scattering of angle reflectors, thereby establishing a foundation for subsequent dynamic modeling of large-sized objects on the sea surface.
