Abstract:The cobalt-catalyzed radical trifluoroethylation of styrenes with CF<sub>3</sub>CH<sub>2</sub>I under mild conditions is described. By controlling the reaction conditions, we realized both radical trifluoroethylation self-coupling and hydrotrifluoroethylation of styrenes.
