Abstract:Jamming enemy detectors' capture of one's own targets has been a long-standing research topic. Invisibility cloaks have long been revered as a form of camouflage. However, these strategies will inevitably disclose crucial information about the target's speed and distance when challenged by dynamic surroundings, while also posing fresh obstacles for tracking and identification on one's own detectors. In this article, we proposed a smart jamming cloak (SJC) comprising a space-time-modulated metasurface and an intelligent control system with expansion circuits and an incident direction sensor. By rotating the surface current, we dynamically modulate the multibit Pancharatnam-Berry (PB) phase, endowing the SJC with wideband and dispersion-free superiorities. Experiments demonstrate that the SJC can adaptively perform space-time modulation once perceiving the incident direction, leading the enemy detector to obtain erroneous distance and speed information about the target. However, such modulation is known to own detectors, and the correct information can be obtained by inverse transformation. Hence, the enemy detectors suffer confusion by SJC without human intervention while simultaneously facilitating own detectors. Furthermore, its exceptional ability to handle incident waves with large incident angles and arbitrary polarization renders it promising in areas, such as communication and intelligent identification.
