Abstract:One method that has significantly impacted human life is nanotechnology. It is a significant strategy for overcoming the many obstacles posed by many diseases, especially neurological conditions (NDs). Numerous nanomaterials, such as lipid nanoparticles, nanoliposomes, nano-micelles, polymer nanoparticles, and metal nanoparticles, in addition to various means of transportation arrangements, such as poly lactic o-glycolic acid, lactoferrin, and poly butyl cyanoacrylate, have the potential to significantly improve the efficacy, decrease the risk of adverse consequences, increase the constancy, in addition enhance the pharmacokinetics of numerous medicines. Neurological conditions (NDs) are among several bothersome besides crippling illnesses that affect huge numbers of individuals globally. Earlier research showed that numerous preparations related to nano from many indigenous ingredients, including curcumin (Cur), quercetin (QC), Ginkgo Biloba (GB), and nigella sativa (NG), greatly enhanced the health of individuals through neurological conditions. The blood-brain barrier (BBB) is the principal barrier to the transfer of drugs to the central nervous system (CNS), which is a problem aimed at treating NDs. Due to their altered Physicochemical characteristics, engineered nanoparticles containing image-processing compounds and medicinal molecules with sizes around 1 and 100 nm may remain employed to ensure improved effectiveness, cellular acceptance, selective conveyance, and the distribution of certain particles toward the brain. Considering both inherent profusion, potential for precise delivery to the brain, and a lower likelihood of exhibiting adverse effects, the nanoparticles of conjugates besides therapeutic plants and their constituents are acknowledged, such as phytomedicine from nano, have recently become more critical in the progress of innovative neuro-therapeutics. The promising use and current developments of combining phytomedicine with nanotechnology for treating neurological illnesses are discussed in this review. In summary, herbal-based nanosystems, alone or in conjunction with other medications, show promise proficiency in treating NDs.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The paper attempts to address the challenges in treating neurodegenerative diseases (NDs). Specifically, it explores how to use nanotechnology to formulate herbal extracts into nanoparticles to enhance the efficacy of drugs in treating neurodegenerative diseases. The main issues include: 1. **Blood-Brain Barrier (BBB) Penetration**: The blood-brain barrier is the primary obstacle for drug delivery to the central nervous system. Many drugs find it difficult to reach the target site due to their inability to cross the blood-brain barrier. 2. **Drug Delivery Efficiency**: Traditional drugs face issues such as low bioavailability, short half-life, and numerous side effects during delivery. New delivery systems are needed to improve the efficiency and targeting of drug delivery. 3. **Complexity of Neurodegenerative Diseases**: Neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's disease (AD), Parkinson's disease (PD), and Huntington's disease (HD) have complex pathological mechanisms, and single treatment methods often have limited effectiveness. 4. **Utilization of Natural Compounds**: Natural plant extracts such as curcumin (Cur), quercetin (QC), ginkgo biloba extract (GB), and black seed extract (NG) have potential therapeutic effects. However, these compounds struggle to cross the blood-brain barrier and require improvement through nanotechnology. The paper reviews current research progress and discusses the potential of combining herbal extracts with nanotechnology, aiming to develop more effective treatment strategies for neurodegenerative diseases.
