Abstract:Perovskite fluorides are considered promising anode materials for lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) due to their robust framework structure and high ionic diffusion coefficient. Unfortunately, the wide band gap leads to inferior electronic conductivity, which limits their further practical application. Notably, 2D MXene exhibits metallic conductivity and a unique layered structure, which has aroused great interest and attention for electrochemical energy storage recently. In this work, the cubic perovskite iron fluoride (KFeF3, KFF) nanoparticles are successfully anchored on the few-layered MXene nanosheets (KFF-MXene) by a facile solvothermal strategy. Benefiting from the excellent electronic conductivity and layered structure of MXene, the electrochemical reaction kinetics and lithium storage capability of composite KFF-MXene are significantly improved, together with the stable structure of KFF has effectively inhibits the agglomeration and stacking of MXene host. As expected, the optimized KFF-MXene composite anode delivers a high reversible capacity (similar to 405 mAh g(-1)), superior rate capacity (133 mAh g(-1) at 3.2 A g(-1)), and stable cycle performance (1000 cycles). Furthermore, the lithium storage behavior and mechanism of KFF are investigated, and Li-ion full batteries (KFF-MXene//LiFePO4) are assembled to explore their practical application. This work opens up a new way for developing perovskite fluorides as advanced anode materials for LIBs.
