This holistic approach underscores the intricate interplay between domestic policies and worldwide trends. The study offers two strategic recommendations to fortify China's green finance endeavors. The initial proposal emphasizes bolstering the legal framework to underpin environmental protection, advocating for rigorous standards to counteract greenwashing, ensuring transparency, and nurturing confidence in green financial products. The second recommendation centers on enhancing Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) legislation, promoting an inclusive and participatory approach to engender collective ownership of environmentally significant projects. By amplifying public involvement, this strategy augments decision-making processes and magnifies the influence of green finance initiatives. This synthesis furnishes a comprehensive comprehension of China's trajectory in green finance, encompassing its present status, external influences, and strategic trajectory. Armed with these insights, stakeholders and policymakers can collaborate to fortify China's dedication to sustainable development, steering the nation toward an ecologically conscientious economic trajectory.

Abstract:The growing severity of global climate change increases public environmental awareness. As a result, green financing has become a prospective area of financial services that attracts attention of investors, policymakers, and other stakeholders. Green financing means using financial tools and mechanisms to provide financial support for a green and low-carbon economy, as well as to promote environmental protection, sustainable development, and resource efficiency. Green finance not only introduces social capital into the green industry and the green economy, but also optimizes the allocation of social resources and creates new points of economic growth. This article reviews the current state of green financing in China. The authors analyzed the related development processes, defined the key challenges, and proposed some policy ecommendations.

Abstract:AbstractThe popularity of green economy as an innovative technique and financial mechanism has soared as a result of this exchange, the gross domestic product (GDP); transition economy (TE); CO2 emissions; human capital (HC); Government Fund Strategy (GFS); green finance (GF) play a very important role. When it comes to advancing genetic civilization, China’s achievements in the field of green money have become firm proof of the country’s progress. China has come to terms with the fact that it cannot continue on its current path of promoting monetary development at the expense of the environment, both for its own people and for the sake of the global community. The country has prioritized environmental concerns over equality with others through economic, political, social, and other factors. Furthermore, in order to accomplish the enormous goal, China’s cross-country coal use must be covered to allow it to peak before 2020, and fossil fuel byproducts must peak before 2030. This article argues that China’s “green drive” is a cause for optimism and concludes by arguing that the top 2030 goal for fossil fuel byproducts is ambitious but doable.

Abstract:Achieving economic development and ecological protection simultaneously is an inevitable selection for sustainable development in today's world, so it is crucial to improve eco-efficiency (EE). According to Chinese panel data at the provincial level between 2010 and 2020, this research explores the nexus between green finance (GF) and EE. The results denote that GF can significantly improve EE, and the higher the level of EE, the stronger the effect of improvement. The upgrading of industrial structure, optimization of energy structure, enterprises' concern for environmental protection and the public's attention to the environment are all favorable factors that can enhance the promotion effect of GF on EE. Additionally, this facilitation can only be played under a good external environment and mature internal conditions. Our findings can provide new insights for improving EE by developing GF.

Abstract:Faced with various crises caused by human activity, our civilization desperately needs solutions to achieve sustainable development. As a result, the green financial system has just taken root in China to respond to the climate emergency that hangs over the whole world in general and China in particular, due to its rapid industrial and urban development. This research is exploratory and analytical. The tenacity of this broadsheet is to sightsee the recent nature of the green financial system, its development, the constraints related to its growth, and its future direction for green economic development. First, research mentions the existing literature and then shows that since its implementation, Chinese green finance, through its offshoots, has rapidly gained momentum among public and private investors; despite this rise, there is a lack of development of green bonds and green insurance and an even greater lack of innovation in other types of products. Secondly, this work indicates the significant contribution that the provision of green bond products makes to a country's economic growth and CO2 reduction. Finally, the study shows that despite the tireless efforts the Chinese government has put into greening the economic system, much remains to be done to respond favorably to the objectives of the sustainable expansion of green funding. For example, with the formation of an incorporated green economic system, much more remains to be done with respect to the responsibility of companies and other actors to disclose green financial information, and also in the creation of incentives to promote green consumption.

Abstract:This paper is one of the first to offer a comprehensive analysis of the impact of green finance related policies in China, utilizing text analysis and panel data from 290 cities between 2011 and 2018. Employing the Semi-parametric Difference-in-Differences (SDID) we show that overall China's green finance related policies have led to a significant reduction in industrial gas emissions in the review period. Additionally, we found that Fintech development contributes to the depletion of sulphur dioxide emissions and has a positive impact on environmental protection investment initiatives. China is poised to be a global leader in green finance policy implementation and regulators need to accelerate the formulation of green finance products and enhance the capacity of financial institutions to offer green credit. While minimizing the systemic risk fintech poses, policy makers should encourage fintechs to actively participate in environmental protection initiatives that promote green consumption.

Abstract:This study investigates the crucial role of green finance in addressing the imperative of reducing industrial carbon emissions for a sustainable global economy. Encompassing facets, such as green credit, insurance, investment, and governmental help for growth in green businesses. Our research on the strength of a comprehensive dataset covering China's 30 provinces between 2010 and 2019 employs a fixed-effects regression and heterogeneity assessment, revealing an inverse association between green finance and industrial carbon emissions. This verifies the notion that green finance serves as a deterrent to carbon emissions from the industrial sector. According to the results of this study, green financing can significantly lower the CO2 emissions from industries, which in turn can lead to an enhancement in environmental quality. Notably, our findings revealed substantial regional variations in this relationship. By proposing actionable recommendations, we advocate strategies to address regional disparities, standardize measurement protocols for green finance, optimize the environment for technological innovation, and realize industrial structures. By acknowledging these nuanced dynamics, our study not only contributes to the understanding of the impact of green finance but also offers targeted solutions to foster high-quality sustainable development in China, ensuring a more effective and comprehensive approach to mitigating carbon emissions in the industrial sector.

Abstract:This paper explores the silver economy in China. The aging demographic in China has created challenges and opportunities for the economy. Based on analyzing extant literature relating to the silver economy, this research highlights the growth of the healthcare industry, tourism, and technology as significant areas of the silver economy. However, challenges like the lack of retirement savings and limited access to resources in rural areas are also discussed. The Chinese government has implemented policies to support the industry, such as tax breaks, subsidies, and programs to promote the development of retirement communities and long-term care facilities. The essay concludes that while the silver economy is becoming increasingly important in China, more efforts may be needed to address these challenges and ensure the industry's continued growth. This research is helpful for policymakers, businesses, and other stakeholders to develop strategies to adapt to these changes and harness the potential of the growing older population.

Abstract:The energy-saving and low-carbon development model is one of the important symbols of high-quality economic development. This article attempts to study the environmental effects of green finance from both theoretical and empirical perspectives, that is, to test whether green finance policies contribute to achieving energy conservation and emission reduction. This article is based on provincial panel data from 2007 to 2020 in China and constructs a dynamic spatial Durbin model to examine the impact of green finance on environmental pollution and energy intensity. The results indicate that (1) green finance can achieve a dual effect of energy conservation and emission reduction simultaneously and has a significant promoting effect on energy conservation and emission reduction in neighboring regions. This conclusion is still valid after conducting robustness tests. (2) The energy-saving and emission-reduction effects of green finance exhibit significant regional heterogeneity, indicating that the performance of green finance is more outstanding in the eastern region with a higher level of economic development. (3) Mechanism testing has found that green finance can achieve energy-saving and emission-reduction effects through four channels: environmental regulation, credit allocation, enterprise profits, and enterprise innovation. Therefore, in order to further promote high-quality economic development, we need to build a comprehensive and multi-level green finance system, enrich the green finance policy toolbox, and smooth the transmission channels of green finance to promote green and stable economic development.

Abstract:The greening of financial markets can effectively guide the flow of capital to green and environmental industries, prompt the upgrading and transformation of the green industry, and help China achieve its dual carbon goals. This paper adopts China’s inter-provincial panel data from 2011 to 2020, measures the development level of the real economy in terms of innovation, coordination, green, openness, and sharing using principal component analysis, and selects core indicators such as green credit, green insurance, green investment, and financial market size. In addition, the fixed panel model and differences-in-differences model are used to carry out the research. The results show that: 1. China’s high-quality green development shows an upward trend in general, the real economy tends to be green, and the development in the east, middle, and west is gradually balanced; 2. Green credit and green insurance have a significant inhibitory effect on the development of the real economy, and this inhibitory effect is more evident in the middle and western regions; green investment has a significant positive promotion effect on promoting the development of the real economy; 3. The promulgation and implementation of policies such as the Guidance on Building a Green Financial System can significantly promote the greening of the financial market to the real economy and promote sustainable development. It should continue to promote the greening of the financial market, improve the green financial service system, smooth the transformation path of green finance to the real economy, strengthen the green guidance of the government on the development of the virtual and real economy, promote the green synergistic development of the financial market in the east and west, and promote the high-quality green sustainable development of the region.

Abstract:This research addresses the critical challenges of financial inclusion and CO2 emissions mitigation within the framework of sustainable development in China. Utilizing 33 years of data (1990–2022) from the country's natural resource sector, the study employs the Engle-Granger econometric technique to explore the interrelations between financial inclusion, green mobility, and CO2 emissions. It reveals that enhanced financial inclusion, signified by increased access to financial services , correlates with a reduction in CO2 emissions, suggesting that a well-developed financial infrastructure can significantly contribute to sustainable practices, especially in the transportation sector. Concurrently, the study highlights the positive impact of green mobility innovations in reducing CO2 emissions, emphasizing the importance of adopting and integrating eco-friendly transportation technologies. These findings provide a compelling case for policy reforms that simultaneously promote financial inclusivity and green mobility as a dual strategy for achieving sustainable development and reducing environmental impact. The research offers valuable insights for policymakers, indicating that targeted interventions in financial and transportation sectors could accelerate China's progress towards its sustainable development and low-carbon goals.

Abstract:This study explores whether and how the development of green finance can facilitate the social responsibility of highly polluting enterprises. We conducted a quasi-natural experiment in 2017 in five Chinese provinces (districts), based on the establishment of green finance reform and innovation pilot zones. The research samples were China's A-share heavy pollution-industry-listed companies from 2013 to 2020, and the difference in differences model was used to examine the relationship between green finance and social responsibility fulfilment of highly polluting firms. The mediating and moderating effects of financial constraints and media monitoring were also discussed. The findings indicate that the advancement of green finance significantly improves the level of social responsibility fulfilment of highly polluting firms, particularly in the area of environmental responsibility. Furthermore, strengthened financing constraints partially mediate the aforementioned relationship, and media monitoring positively moderates the facilitation effect of green finance development on highly polluting firms' social responsibility fulfilment. Our study demonstrates that a higher degree of financing constraints is an important channel for establishing a green finance reform and innovation pilot zone to force enterprises to fulfilment their social responsibility, and provides theoretical support for governments and enterprises to better understand the policy effects.

Abstract:The achievement of China's "dual-carbon" standard has been devoted to the green transformation and the sustainable growth of energy firms, both of which can be financed by the growth of green financing. This study aims to investigate how the development level of green finance influences the sustainable development performance of listed energy companies in China. It seeks to delve into the underlying mechanisms connecting green finance with financing constraints and, subsequently, with sustainability performance, as well as exploring the relationship between green finance and green total factor productivity in relation to sustainability performance. Additionally, this study will provide strategies and recommendations to enhance the sustainable development capabilities of energy enterprises. This study empirically evaluates the four aspects of sustainable development performance: economic, social, environmental, and innovative performance—as well as its mechanism of action using the fixed-effects pattern with two ways and the mediated-effects pattern using unbalanced panel data from Chinese-listed energy firms spanning from 2011 to 2020. The study discovered that (1) energy firms' performance in sustainable development is greatly enhanced by the progression of green finance; (2) the advancement of green finance effectively boosts the sustainable development performance of energy companies by reducing financing constraints and enhancing green total factor productivity; (3) a more distinct relationship is evident between the extent of green financing development and the performance of sustainable development within state-owned enterprises. While green finance development has a stronger role in innovative performance for larger energy firms, it has a noticeable proactive impact on the economic, social, and environmental performance of smaller energy enterprises. Based on the study's findings, this paper presents recommendations for the enhancement of green financing policies and the sustainable enhancement of energy enterprises in China.

Abstract:Financial inclusion is crucial to a country's competitiveness while green economy emerges as a policy priority along the sustainable development path, but how will they interact? This study examines the relationship between the two in the context of China, which is on the transition to a green economy based on city level data for 2011–2015. A multidimensional measurement of financial inclusion is established by considering the rapidly developing digital finance, and the measurement of green economic efficiency by applying the MinDW model. Results indicate that the development of financial inclusion can enhance green economic efficiency, which is mainly realized through the strengthening of the credit constraints on high-polluting firms. The findings provide further implications for implementing a financial development policy and maintain a balanced relationship between the government, financial institutions, and firms.

Abstract:At present, the financial sector is observing the rise of green finance as a notable field of advancement. The rapid growth of the economy is accompanied with the adverse effects of environmental pollution and the concerning pace of species loss. The rise of China's green finance in recent years has been substantial, mostly propelled by the pursuit of the "double carbon" aim. At the same time, the Chinese government strongly supports banks in developing green credit and supporting enterprises that meet green development requirements. According to the latest research data, China ranks second in the world in terms of issuance scale of green bonds. Consequently, China has emerged as a prominent global participant in the domain of green finance. The main objective of this study is to examine the historical development and current state of green finance in China, while also aiming to suggest potential strategies for its future progress and explore possibilities for international collaboration. This report presents proposals aimed at facilitating the advancement of green finance within China, with the goal of accelerating its growth domestically.

Abstract:This article provides an in-depth exploration of the key role of green finance in the transformation of the global economy. First, the definition and basic principles of green finance are clarified, and its practice and development, as well as its close relationship with sustainable development, are analyzed in detail. In terms of environment, green finance contributes to environmental protection by mitigating climate change and promoting the development of clean energy. At the social level, it promotes social justice and inclusive growth and improves social well-being. In terms of economy, green finance promotes innovation and industrial upgrading, and improves the resilience and sustainability of the economy. However, green finance faces challenges such as information asymmetry and policy instability. In its future development directions and suggestions, it calls for efforts such as international cooperation, policy support, professional training, business guidance, and public education to promote a more healthy, transparent, and sustainable development of the green financial market. The article concludes by emphasizing that green finance is a key force leading the transformation of the global economy. It not only plays a role in the environmental field, but also plays a vital role in promoting the green transformation of enterprises and promoting the upgrading of economic structure.

Abstract:This paper explores the mechanisms by which green finance policies promote low-carbon economic development, analyzing their implementation effects and challenges in China, and proposing corresponding policy recommendations. Green finance, defined as financial activities supporting environmental protection and sustainable development, aims to direct funds towards environmentally friendly and low-carbon projects. It includes green credit, green bonds, green investment funds, and green insurance, and involves providing preferential loans, issuing green bonds, establishing investment funds, and developing insurance products to support green projects and reduce environmental risks. Additional policies such as green incentives, environmental information disclosure, green ratings, and international cooperation further enhance the effectiveness of green finance. The mechanisms by which green finance policies promote low-carbon development include guiding funds to low-carbon industries, optimizing resource allocation, promoting technological innovation, supporting industrial structure transformation, enhancing market competitiveness, and promoting socially responsible investment. Despite significant progress, challenges such as insufficient supply of green finance resources, regional disparities in policy implementation, limited innovation in green finance products, and imperfect information disclosure and regulatory systems remain. The paper concludes with policy recommendations to increase policy support, improve information disclosure and regulatory systems, promote product innovation, strengthen regional coordinated development, and enhance international cooperation.
