Abstract:Summary With the increasingly complex geological conditions faced by seismic exploration, there is a significant difference in the velocities of exploration targets, resulting in uneven wavelength sampling. To ensure simulation accuracy and computational stability, the grid spacing needs to be very small, leading to waste in storage and computation. In this paper, we propose a velocity-adaptive-variable grid (VAVG) In VAVG scheme, the grid size adaptively increases with higher velocity and vice versa. By introducing velocity-weighted mapping and transforming the conventional Cartesian coordinates into velocity-adaptive-variable grid (VAVG) coordinates, the wavelength sampling is made regular and the number of vertical sampling points is reduced, thereby reducing computational and memory consumption. This article derives the first-order velocity-stress equation in the pseudo-depth domain, and subsequently achieves forward modeling in the VAVG domain. Model tests show that this algorithm significantly improves computational efficiency and greatly reduces memory usage, with minimal impact on accuracy.
