Abstract:In the urban investment bond market, the specificity of being backed by local governments renders its pricing logic distinct from other credit bonds. The credit spread is the core element in the pricing of urban investment bonds. Therefore, this study selects influencing factors based on the local macroeconomic background and the characteristics of the bonds themselves. These factors include, but are not limited to, the financial status of local governments, the macroeconomic environment, urbanization levels, the remaining term of the bond, coupon rate, issuance size, as well as market perceptions of bond ratings and liquidity. By comparing the predictive performance of traditional multiple linear regression, lasso regression, random forest, and deep forest models, it was found that nonlinear models demonstrate superior performance over traditional linear models in the study of urban investment bonds. Experimental results prove that the random forest and deep forest models are most effective in fitting and predicting the credit spreads of urban investment bonds, offering a more accurate capture of their nonlinear relationships. Finally, by outputting the ranking of feature importance, this study explores the influencing factors of urban investment bond credit spreads, capturing the complexity of the urban investment bond market, and providing investors with deeper and broader market insights.
