Abstract:Chronic kidney failure can be defined as a chronic and progressive deterioration in the kidney's fluid-solute balance and metabolic-endocrine functions as a result of a decrease in glomerular filtration rate (GFR), and irreversible loss of nephrons due to various diseases. Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a common and important health problem that has become an epidemic in the world [ 1 ] as well as in our country. [ 2 ] According to the CREDIT (Chronic REnal Disease In Turkey) study, 15.7% of the entire population in our country has CKD; On the other hand, 5.09% of the population developed moderate or severe renal failure with a risk of progression to the end stage of chronic kidney disease.
