The holographic $T\bar{T}$ deformation of the entanglement entropy in (A)dS$_3$/CFT$_2$

Abstract:In recent years, the holographic duality between $T\bar{T}$-deformed conformal field theory (CFT) and Anti-de Sitter (AdS) space with finite radial truncation has received significant attention. The study of $T\bar{T}$ deformation within the framework of de Sitter (dS)/CFT duality has also progressed. This paper shows that the trace flow equation in dS spacetime can be analytically extended from its AdS counterpart through double Wick rotations. Additionally, we generalize the replica sphere method in both AdS and dS holography to derive a general expression for the entanglement entropy of arbitrary single spatial intervals. For both finite size and finite temperature systems, we obtain the entanglement entropy corrections due to $T\bar{T}$ deformation. Finally, using strong subadditivity and boosted strong subadditivity, we show that the dual field theory on the timelike boundary is non-local in dS holography.

Abstract:We investigate the reflected entropy for bipartite mixed state configurations in a $T\bar{T}$ deformed boundary conformal field theory in $2$ dimensions (BCFT$_2$). The bulk dual is described by asymptotically AdS$_3$ geometries with the cut off surface pushed deeper into the bulk and truncated by an end of the world brane. We obtain the reflected entropy up to a linear order in the radial cut-off for static and time dependent configurations involving an eternal black hole, from the island and defect extremal surface (DES) prescriptions in the context of the deformed AdS/BCFT. We observe agreement of the leading order correction for all cases between the two prescriptions. We also obtain the analogous of the Page curves for the reflected entropy and investigate the modification due to the $T\bar{T}$ deformation.

Abstract:In the context of dS 3 /CFT 2 , we propose a timelike entanglement entropy defined by the renormalization group flow. This timelike entanglement entropy is calculated in CFT by using the Callan-Symanzik equation. We find an exact match between this entanglement entropy and the length of a timelike geodesic connecting two different spacelike surfaces in dS 3 . The counterpart of this entanglement entropy in AdS 3 is a spacelike one, also induced by RG flow and extends all the way into the bulk of AdS 3 . As a result, in both AdS 3 /CFT 2 and dS 3 /CFT 2 , there exist exactly three entanglement entropies, providing precisely sufficient information to reconstruct the three-dimensional bulk geometry.

Abstract:In this work, we investigate the entanglement structure in a $\textrm{T}\bar{\textrm{T}}$-deformed holographic CFT$_2$ with a conserved angular momentum. We utilize conformal perturbation theory to compute the leading order correction to the entanglement entropy and the reflected entropy due to the $\textrm{T}\bar{\textrm{T}}$ deformation in the limit of large central charge. In the dual bulk perspective described by a rotating BTZ black hole with a finite radial cut-off, we compute the holographic entanglement entropy and the entanglement wedge cross-section and observe perfect agreement with our field theoretic computation for small values of the deformation parameter.

Abstract:We apply a suitable replica technique to develop a perturbative expression for the entanglement negativity of bipartite mixed states in T$\overline{\text{T}}$-deformed CFT$_2$s up to the first order in the deformation parameter. Utilizing our perturbative construction we compute the entanglement negativity for various bipartite mixed states involving two disjoint intervals, two adjacent intervals, and a single interval in a T$\overline{\text{T}}$-deformed CFT$_2$ at a finite temperature, in the large central charge limit. Subsequently, we advance appropriate holographic constructions to compute the entanglement negativity for such bipartite states in T$\overline{\text{T}}$-deformed thermal CFT$_2$s dual to BTZ black holes in a finite cut-off bulk geometry and find agreement with the corresponding field theoretic results in the limit of small deformation parameter.

Abstract:The entanglement entropy for interfaces and junctions of two-dimensional CFTs is evaluated on holographically dual half-BPS solutions to six-dimensional Type 4b supergravity with m anti-symmetric tensor supermultiplets. It is shown that the moduli space for an N-junction solution projects to N points in the Kaehler manifold SO(2,m)/( SO(2) x SO(m)). For N=2 the interface entropy is expressed in terms of the central charge and Calabi's diastasis function on SO(2,m)/(SO(2) x SO(m)), thereby lending support from holography to a proposal of Bachas, Brunner, Douglas, and Rastelli. For N=3, the entanglement entropy for a 3-junction decomposes into a sum of diastasis functions between pairs, weighed by combinations of the three central charges, provided the flux charges are all parallel to one another or, more generally, provided the space of flux charges is orthogonal to the space of unattracted scalars. Under similar assumptions for N>3, the entanglement entropy for the N-junction solves a variational problem whose data consist of the N central charges, and the diastasis function evaluated between pairs of N asymptotic AdS_3 x S^3 regions.

Entanglement entropy of singular surfaces under relevant deformations in holography

Abstract:In the vacuum state of a CFT, the entanglement entropy of singular surfaces contains a logarithmic universal term which is only due to the singularity of the entangling surface. We consider the relevant perturbation of a three dimensional CFT for singular entangling surface. We observe that in addition to the universal term due to the entangling surface, there is a new logarithmic term which corresponds to a relevant perturbation of the conformal field theory with a coefficient depending on the scaling dimension of the relevant operator. We also find a new power law divergence in the holographic entanglement entropy. In addition, we study the effect of a relevant perturbation in the Gauss-Bonnet gravity for a singular entangling surface. Again a logarithmic term shows up. This new term is proportional to both the dimension of the relevant operator and the Gauss-Bonnet coupling. We also introduce the renormalized entanglement entropy for a kink region which in the UV limit reduces to a universal positive finite term.

Bounds on $T\bar {T}$ deformation from entanglement

Abstract:Motivated by the existence of complex spectrum in $T\bar T$-deformed CFTs, in this paper we revisit the broadly studied topic of (holographic) entanglement entropy in the deformed theory to investigate its complex behaviour. As a concrete example, we show that in case of a 1+1 dimensional holographic CFT at finite temperature $\beta^{-1}$ and chemical potential $\Omega$, the holographic entanglement entropy in the deformed theory remains to be real only within the range $-\frac{\beta^2}{8\pi^2}\frac{(1-\Omega^2)^2}{\Omega^2}< \mu < \frac{\beta^2}{8\pi^2}(1-\Omega^2) $ of the deformation parameter. While the upper bound overlaps with the familiar Hagedorn bound in the deformed theory, the novel lower bound on the negative values of the deformation parameter does not show up in thermodynamic quantities. However, from a holographic perspective we show that this intriguing lower bound is related to a spacelike to null transition of the associated Ryu-Takayanagi surface in the deformed geometry. We also investigate the Quantum Null Energy Condition in the deformed theory, within its regime of validity.

Abstract:TT deformed CFTs with positive deformation parameter have been proposed to be holographically dual to Einstein gravity in a glue-on AdS 3 spacetime [1]. The latter is constructed from AdS 3 by gluing a patch of an auxiliary AdS_3^∗ spacetime to its asymptotic boundary. In this work, we propose a glue-on version of the Ryu-Takayanagi formula, which is given by the signed area of an extremal surface. The extremal surface is anchored at the endpoints of an interval on a cutoff surface in the glue-on geometry. It consists of an RT surface lying in the AdS 3 part of the spacetime and its extension to the AdS_3^∗ region. The signed area is the length of the RT surface minus the length of the segments in AdS_3^∗ . We find that the Ryu-Takayanagi formula with the signed area reproduces the entanglement entropy of a half interval for TT -deformed CFTs on the sphere. We then study the properties of extremal surfaces on various glue-on geometries, including Poincaré AdS 3 , global AdS 3 , and the BTZ black hole. When anchored on multiple intervals at the boundary, the signed area of the minimal surfaces undergoes phase transitions with novel properties. In all of these examples, we find that the glue-on extremal surfaces exhibit a minimum length related to the deformation parameter of TT -deformed CFTs.

Abstract:In a previous work [ Eur. Phys. J. C 80 , 1117 (2020)] about the TT ̄ deformed CFT2 , from the consistency requirement of the entanglement entropy, we found that, in addition to the usual spacelike entanglement entropy, a timelike entanglement entropy must be introduced and treated equally. Motivated by the recent explicit constructions of the timelike entanglement entropy and its bulk dual, we provide a comprehensive analysis of the timelike and spacelike entanglement entropies in the TT ̄ deformed finite size system and finite temperature system. The results confirm our prediction that in the finite size system only the timelike entanglement entropy receives a correction, while in the finite temperature system only the usual spacelike entanglement entropy gets a correction. Abstract:The TT deformation is a solvable irrelevant deformation whose properties depend on the sign of the deformation parameter μ . In particular, TT -deformed CFTs with μ < 0 have been proposed to be holographically dual to Einstein gravity where the metric satisfies Dirichlet boundary conditions at a finite cutoff surface. In this paper, we put forward a holographic proposal for TT -deformed CFTs with μ > 0, in which case the bulk geometry is constructed by gluing a patch of AdS 3 to the original spacetime. As evidence, we show that the TT trace flow equation, the spectrum on the cylinder, and the partition function on the torus and the sphere, among other results, can all be reproduced from bulk calculations in glue-on AdS 3 .

Abstract:For a static time slice of AdS$_3$ we describe a particular class of minimal surfaces which form trivalent networks of geodesics. Through geometric arguments we provide evidence that these surfaces describe a measure of multipartite entanglement. By relating these surfaces to Ryu-Takayanagi surfaces it can be shown that this multipartite contribution is related to the angles of intersection of the bulk geodesics.

$T\bar{T}$-deformed Entanglement Entropy for Integrable Quantum Field Theory

Abstract:We calculate the $T\bar{T}$-deformed entanglement entropy for integrable quantum field theories (IQFTs) using the form factor bootstrap approach. We solve the form factor bootstrap axioms for the branch-point twist fields and obtain the deformed form factors. Using these form factors, we compute the deformed von Neuman entropy up to two particle contributions. The solution of the form factor axioms is not unique. We find that for the simplest solution of the bootstrap axioms, the UV limit of the entanglement entropy takes the same form as the undeformed one, but the effective central charge is deformed. For solutions with additional CDD-like factors, we can have different behaviors. The IR corrections, which only depends on the particle spectrum is untouched.

Abstract:The entanglement spectrum of a bipartite quantum system is given by the distribution of eigenvalues of the modular Hamiltonian. In this work, we compute the entanglement spectrum in the vacuum state for a subregion of a $d$-dimensional conformal field theory (CFT) admitting a holographic dual. In the case of a spherical (or planar) entangling surface, we recover known results in two dimensions, including the Cardy formula in the high energy regime. In higher dimensions $d>2$, we analytically determine a generalization of the Cardy formula valid at large energies and consistent with previous studies of CFT spectra in the literature. We also investigate numerically the spectrum at energy levels far above the modular ground state energy. We extend our analysis to the supersymmetric point of Einstein-Maxwell gravity, providing exact results when $d=2,3$, and a generalization of the Cardy formula at high energies in generic dimension $d$. We consider small shape deformations of a spherical entangling surface, for both the non-supersymmetric and the supersymmetric cases. In all cases we find that the high-energy scaling of the microcanonical entropy with the modular energy is unaffected by the shape deformation. This result suggests that the high-energy regime of the entanglement spectra carries universal information, independent of the shape of the entangling surface.

The entanglement membrane in 2d CFT: reflected entropy, RG flow, and information velocity

Abstract:The time evolution of entanglement entropy in generic chaotic many-body systems has an effective description in terms of a minimal membrane, characterised by a tension function. For 2d CFTs, a degenerate tension function reproduces several results regarding the dynamics of the entropy; this stands in contrast to higher dimensions where the tension is non-degenerate. In this paper we use holography to show that, in order to correctly capture the reflected entropy in 2d CFT, one needs to add an additional degree of freedom to the membrane description. Furthermore, we show that the conventional non-degenerate membrane tension function emerges upon introducing a relevant deformation of the CFT, dual to a planar BTZ black hole with scalar hair and with an interior Kasner universe. Finally, we also study the membrane description for reflected entropy and information velocity <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="1908.06993" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/1908.06993">arXiv:1908.06993</a> in higher dimensions.
