Abstract:Cognitive impairment has become an important aspect affecting the health and quality of life of middle-aged and elderly people, which is defined as the difficulty of thought processing and leads to memory loss, difficulties making decisions, the inability to concentrate, and difficulties learning. The process of cognitive ability decline with age goes through subjective cognitive impairment (SCI) to mild cognitive impairment (MCI). There is abundant evidence supporting the link between cognitive impairment and several modifiable risk factors, such as physical activity, social activity, mental activity, higher education, and management of cardiovascular risk factors (diabetes, obesity, smoking, hypertension, and obesity). Meanwhile, these factors also provide a new perspective for the prevention of cognitive impairment and dementia.
