Abstract:In recent years, ultrafast pulse lasers have been widely used in various fields. The realtime detection of the characteristic parameters of the single-pulse laser is necessary. In this work, a method was proposed to detect the nanosecond (ns) pulsed laser. The laser-induced voltage (LIV) response of table salt (TS) consists of a rapid rise and a slow fall with the response time of about 150 $\mu\mathrm{s}$ . The bias voltage $(\mathrm{V}_{\mathrm{b}})$ and laser energy $(\mathrm{E}_{\text{in}})$ have a strong influence on the amplitude of the LIV signal $(\mathrm{V}_{\mathrm{p}})$ , which increases with $\mathrm{V}_{\mathrm{b}}$ and $\mathrm{E}_{\text{in}}$ . Influenced by the impedance effect, the response speed and $\mathrm{V}_{\mathrm{P}}$ of the LIV signal increased as the external resistance (R) decreases. When $\mathrm{R}=100 \Omega$ , the LIV trace has a similar shape to the nanosecond (ns) pulsed laser. At this point, the response time of the LIV is $= 20$ ns, which is completely limited by the duration of the laser pulse. This research demonstrates that LIV response of TS has the potential for ultrafast single-pulse laser detection in real time.
