Abstract:Abstract: Monitoring the impact of aquaculture activities in seawater ponds on shorelines is mainly based on on-site investigations; however, this monitoring process is time-consuming and laborious. Considering the considerable changes in the morphology and scale of tailwater stains, this study proposes a remote sensing image based on the multiscale feature extraction network (MFENet) for detecting tailwater stains in seawater pond aquaculture. Using a multiattention module, the network captures key information from images during the downsampling process to extract the multiscale salient features of aquaculture wastewater stains. A feature fusion module is used to fuse the corresponding same-scale feature maps obtainded from the downsampling and upsampling processes, improving the network's ability to extract complex-shaped stains. Furthermore, a filter module is introduced to correct the false detection areas of the sandy beach stains in the model detection results. Experimental results show that compared with classical segmentation models (e.g., SegNet, UNet, PSPNet, and DeepLabv3+), the tailwater stain detection method based on the MFENet model has a higher detection accuracy.
