Abstract:The increasing demand for lightweight, high-performance, and wideband microwave absorption materials is being propelled by the upsurge in electromagnetic pollution resulting from the rapid proliferation of wearable technology and portable devices. Here, the distinctive three-dimensional flower-like M-Ti3C2Tx@SnS@C heterostructures are prepared through a process of structural control and surface modification. The unique 3D flowerlike morphology permits efficient interaction between alternating electromagnetic waves and the absorbers' surface, and multiple reflections of electromagnetic waves within the layers of the absorbers. In addition to accommodating incident electromagnetic waves, the vertically aligned SnS nanosheet arrays offer additional interfacial polarization at the boundaries of M-Ti3C2Tx nanosheets and carbon layer, ensuring high dipolar polarization loss in the final absorbers. The 3D Ti3C2Tx framework and the carbon layer synergistically enhance the overall conductivity loss in the final absorbers. At a thickness of 2.0 mm, the unique 3D flower-like MTi3C2Tx@SnS@C heterostructures exhibit a RLmin value of -50.5 dB and their effective absorption bandwidth extending up to 4.55 GHz, indicating their promising potential in microwave absorption. This finding creates a window of opportunity for bringing lightweight, high-performance, and wideband microwave absorption materials to markets. This discovery of the 3D flower-like M-Ti3C2Tx@SnS@C heterostructures highlights their significant potential as a high-performance, thin-layered microwave absorber.
