Abstract:In this paper, we apply the modified variational iteration method to a generalized Hirota-Satsuma coupled Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equation. The numerical solutions of the initial value problem of the generalized Hirota-Satsuma coupled KdV equation are provided. Numerical results are given to show the efficiency of the modified variational iteration method.

Abstract:In this paper, we present Lax pairs and solutions for a nonsymmetric lattice equation, which is a torqued version of the lattice potential Korteweg-de Vries equation. This nonsymmetric equation is special in the sense that it contains only one spacing parameter but consists of two consistent cubes with other integrable lattice equations. Using such a multidimensionally consistent property we are able to derive its two Lax pairs and also construct solutions using Bäcklund transformations.

Abstract:We propose a numerical method for finding solitary wave solutions of generalized Korteweg-de Vries equations by solving the nonlinear eigenvalue problem on an unbounded domain. The artificial boundary conditions are obtained to make the domain finite. We specially discuss the soliton solutions of the K(m,n) equation and KdV–K(m,n) equation. Furthermore for the mixed models of linear and nonlinear dispersion, the collision behaviors of soliton–soliton and soliton–antisoliton are observed.

Abstract:A technique for nonlinearization of the Lax pair for the scalar soliton equations in (1+1) dimensions is applied to the symmetric matrix KdV equation. As a result, a pair of finite-dimensional integrable Hamiltonian systems, which are of higher rank generalization of the classic Gaudin models, are obtained. The integrability of the systems are shown by the explicit Lax representations and r-matrix method.

Abstract:In this paper, we report an interesting integrable equation that has both solitons and kink solutions. The integrable equation we study is $(\frac{-u_{xx}}{u})_{t}=2uu_{x}$, which actually comes from the negative KdV hierarchy and could be transformed to the Camassa-Holm equation through a gauge transform. The Lax pair of the equation is derived to guarantee its integrability, and furthermore the equation is shown to have classical solitons, periodic soliton and kink solutions.

Abstract:In the paper two kinds of solutions are derived for the complex Korteweg-de Vries equation, including blow-up solutions and non-singular solutions. We derive blow-up solutions from known 1-soliton solution and a double-pole solution. There is a complex Miura transformation between the complex Korteweg-de Vries equation and a modified Korteweg-de Vries equation. Using the transformation, solitons, breathers and rational solutions to the complex Korteweg-de Vries equation are obtained from those of the modified Korteweg-de Vries equation. Dynamics of the obtained solutions are illustrated.

Qualitative Theory of Dynamical Systems

Abstract:The Korteweg-de Vries–Calogero–Bogoyavlenskii–Schiff (KdV-CBS) equation is often used in dealing with long-wave propagation interactions, and is widely used in mathematics, physics, and engineering. This paper proposes a new extended (3+1)-dimensional KdV-CBS equation, and it's never been studied. Additionally, we verify the integrability of the equation based on the Painlevé test. By employing Hirota's method, a bilinear auto-Bäcklund transformation, the multiple-soliton solutions, and the soliton molecules of the equation are derived. New exact solutions of the equation are constructed utilizing the power series expansion method and -expansion method. These exact solutions are also presented graphically. Finally, the conservation laws of the equation are obtained. Our results are helpful for understanding nonlinear wave phenomena.

Abstract:The aim of this paper is to study an extended modified Korteweg-de Vries Calogero-Bogoyavlenskii-Schiff (mKdV-CBS) equation and present its Lax pair with a spectral parameter. Meanwhile, a Miura transformation is explored, which reveals the relationship between solutions of the extended mKdV-CBS equation and the extended (2+1)-dimensional Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equation. On the basis of the obtained Lax pair and the existing research results, Darboux transformation is derived, which plays a crucial role in presenting soliton solutions. Besides, soliton molecules are given by the velocity resonance mechanism.

Abstract:The (2+1)-dimensional Korteweg–de Vries-Sawada-Kotera-Ramani (KdVSKR) equation is proposed by extending one dimension of the (1+1)-dimensional KdVSKR equation. The bilinear form of the (2+1)-dimensional KdVSKR equation is obtained by the independent transformation. The multi-solitons are obtained by solving the Hirota bilinear form of the (2+1)-dimensional KdVSKR equation. By using the long wave limit method, the multi-order lumps, interaction between lump and solitons are derived. The paths of lump wave can be given by calculating the critical points of the lump wave. The dynamics of these solutions are shown both in numerical simulations and graphs ways.

Abstract:Under investigation is the discrete modified Korteweg-de Vries (mKdV) equation, which is an integrable discretization of the continuous mKdV equation that can describe some physical phenomena such as dynamics of anharmonic lattices, solitary waves in dusty plasmas, and fluctuations in nonlinear optics. Through constructing the discrete generalized m , N − m -fold Darboux transformation for this discrete system, the various discrete soliton solutions such as the usual soliton, rational soliton, and their mixed soliton solutions are derived. The elastic interaction phenomena and physical characteristics are discussed and illustrated graphically. The limit states of diverse soliton solutions are analyzed via the asymptotic analysis technique. Numerical simulations are used to display the dynamical behaviors of some soliton solutions. The results given in this paper might be helpful for better understanding the physical phenomena in plasma and nonlinear optics.

Abstract:In this paper, based on the regular Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) system, we study negative-order KdV (NKdV) equations, particularly their Hamiltonian structures, Lax pairs, conservation laws, and explicit multisoliton and multikink wave solutions thorough bilinear Backlund transformations. The NKdV equations studied in our paper are differential and actually derived from the first member in the negative-order KdV hierarchy. The NKdV equations are not only gauge equivalent to the Camassa-Holm equation through reciprocal transformations but also closely related to the Ermakov-Pinney systems and the Kupershmidt deformation. The bi-Hamiltonian structures and a Darboux transformation of the NKdV equations are constructed with the aid of trace identity and their Lax pairs, respectively. The single and double kink wave and bell soliton solutions are given in an explicit formula through the Darboux transformation. The one-kink wave solution is expressed in the form of tanh while the one-bell soliton is in the form of sech, and both forms are very standard. The collisions of two-kink wave and two-bell soliton solutions are analyzed in detail, and this singular interaction differs from the regular KdV equation. Multidimensional binary Bell polynomials are employed to find bilinear formulation and Backlund transformations, which produce N-soliton solutions. A direct and unifying scheme is proposed for explicitly building up quasiperiodic wave solutions of the NKdV equations. Furthermore, the relations between quasiperiodic wave solutions and soliton solutions are clearly described. Finally, we show the quasiperiodic wave solution convergent to the soliton solution under some limit conditions.

Abstract:A simple algorithm for deriving an analog of the system of Dubrovin differential equations is proposed. It is shown that the sum of a uniformly convergent function series constructed with the use of the system of Dubrovin equations and the first trace formula indeed satisfies the loaded nonlinear Korteweg–de Vries equation with a source. In addition, it has been proved that if the initial function is a -periodic real-analytic function, then the solution of the Cauchy problem is a real-analytic function with respect to the variable as well; and if the number is the period of the initial function, then the number is the period of the solution of the Cauchy problem with respect to the variable . Here is a positive integer.

Abstract:. There has been considerable interest in the study on the variable-coefficient nonlinear evolution equations in recent years, since they can describe the real situations in many fields of physical and engineering sciences. In this paper, a generalized variable-coefficient KdV (GvcKdV) equation with the external-force and perturbed/dissipative terms is investigated, which can describe the various real situations, including large-amplitude internal waves, blood vessels, Bose-Einstein condensates, rods and positons. The Painlevé analysis leads to the explicit constraint on the variable coefficients for such a equation to pass the Painlevé test. An auto-Bäcklund transformation is provided by use of the truncated Painlevé expansion and symbolic computation. Via the given auto-Bäcklund transformation, three families of analytic solutions are obtained, including the solitonic and periodic solutions.

Abstract:To obtain new integrable nonlinear differential equations there are some well-known methods such as Lax equations with different Lax representations. There are also some other methods which are based on integrable scalar nonlinear partial differential equations. We show that some systems of integrable equations published recently are the ${\cal M}_{2}$-extension of integrable scalar equations. For illustration we give Korteweg-de Vries, Kaup-Kupershmidt, and Sawada-Kotera equations as examples. By the use of such an extension of integrable scalar equations we obtain some new integrable systems with recursion operators. We give also the soliton solutions of the system equations and integrable standard nonlocal and shifted nonlocal reductions of these systems.

Abstract:The present work aims to examine a newly proposed (3+1)-dimensional integrable generalized Korteweg-de Vries (gKdV) equation. By employing the Weiss- Tabor-Carnevale technique in conjunction with Kruskal ansatz, we establish the com- plete integrability of the suggested model by demonstrating its ability to satisfy the Painlev ́e property. The bilinear form of the (3+1)-dimensional gKdV equation is em- ployed to construct multiple soliton solutions. By manipulating the various values of the corresponding parameters, we generate a category of lump solutions that exhibit localization in all dimensions and algebraic decay.
