Abstract:A new steganalytic algorithm was proposed based on principal-component features to reduce the high false positive of traditional steganalytic methods when they were used to detect color stegos generated using spread spectrum steganographic schemes.Utilizing principal component analysis(PCA),the principal-component features were obtained as the dimension-reduction results of multi-dimensional feature vector from statistical moments of higher-order differential characteristic function.The statistics of seven objects,i.e.,intensity,the first,second and third order partial differentiations,the first and second total differentiations,and Grads, were computed in channels and between two channels.The first and second order statistical moments were calculated from the differential characteristic functions of these statistics and 136 dimensional features were extracted from a color raw image.PCA was utilized to reduce the features to 18-dimensional features and support vector machine(SVM) was used as classifying technique to construct a blindly steganalytic algorithm.Experimental results on CorelDraw and Washington image libraries exhibited robust detecting performance of the proposed algorithm.For Cox and Piva spread spectrum steganographies,the presented method can achieve true positive of 100% and false positive of 0.
