Abstract:With the growing application of hydraulic technology in engineering field, due to the increase of load capacity of large equipment requires several implementation components simultaneously drive the working part, so synchronization control becomes more and more important. In this paper, study the synchronous control problems of double electro-hydraulic servo system, for mechanical couple exist in double servo systems caused by not synchronization, design decouple controller. When the double servo systems are not synchronous, according to the change of the two chambers pressure to compensate disturbance. Then achieve the purpose of synchronization. The simulation results show that the method has high synchronization accuracy.
Motion Synchronization of Dual-Cylinder Pneumatic Servo Systems with Integration of Adaptive Robust Control and Cross-Coupling Approach.

Abstract:We investigate motion synchronization of dual-cylinder pneumatic servo systems and develop an adaptive robust synchronization controller. The proposed controller incorporates the cross-coupling technology into the integrated direct/indirect adaptive robust control (DIARC) architecture by feeding back the coupled position errors, which are formed by the trajectory tracking errors of two cylinders and the synchronization error between them. The controller employs an online recursive least squares estimation algorithm to obtain accurate estimates of model parameters for reducing the extent of parametric uncertainties, and uses a robust control law to attenuate the effects of parameter estimation errors, unmodeled dynamics, and disturbances. Therefore, asymptotic convergence to zero of both trajectory tracking and synchronization errors can be guaranteed. Experimental results verify the effectiveness of the proposed controller.

Abstract:There are large extents of parametric uncertainties and uncertain nonlinearities in the inherent nonlinear dynamics of a dual-cylinder pneumatic system, and there are two separate control degrees of freedom for each pneumatic cylinder due to individual metering, which results in great challenges in precision synchronization motion and brings about flexibility in controller design. In this paper, a synchronous control of the individual pneumatic system is synthesized through introducing composite errors of synchronous and individual tracking motion into two independent parallel adaptive robust motion controllers for one-side chamber of pneumatic cylinder. Simultaneously, an adaptive robust pressure controller for the other-side chamber of each cylinder is presented to keep stable influences of friction force and other uncertainties. The effects of synchronous coefficient upon synchronization performance are extensively analyzed. Simulations results demonstrated that the proposed adaptive robust synchronous control with composite parallel method can significantly decrease synchronous error and individual tracking error compare to synchronous control with pure parallel method that without cross-coupling feedback of synchronous error.

Abstract:Based on flow control valve and pressure following element, an improved interconnected hydro-pneumatic suspension was presented.The suspension system achievedrigid-flexible status switching smoothly through effective combination of flowcontrol valve and pressure following element, lifting synchronization of heavy construction vehicle was finally realized.Hydraulic system simulation model of interconnected hydro-pneumatic suspension was established in AMESim and simulation analyses for synchronization performance were carried out at variable load conditions.The test bench was set up and the experimental research was performed.Experimental results showed that synchronization error was less than 2.5mm in the lifting process and suspension cylinder did not appear jitter when rigid-flexible status switching.The agreement between the simulation results and the experimental data proved the feasibility of the improved interconnected hydro-pneumatic suspension and the accuracy of the simulation model.

Abstract:In order to solve the problem that the working stroke length of servo hydraulic cylinder rod and control accuracy were not satisfied simultaneously, the 2-stage electro-hydraulic position control strategy was proposed via combining speed open-loop control with traditional position closed-loop control. Speed open-loop control was used to control the velocity of speed regulation hydraulic cylinder (SRHC), which solved the problem that the working stroke of servo hydraulic cylinder (SHC) was not too long in hydraulic servocontrol system. Position closed-loop control was used to control the position of servo hydraulic cylinder to improve control accuracy. Additionally, in order to solve the problem that setting displacement was often variable, and to reduce system overshoot, prior derivative control method and integral separation control method were used in PID control unit. The feasibility and effectivity of this strategy were verified by simulation results.

Abstract:This article presents a novel harmonic and synchronous compound control scheme based on the dual-valve parallel structure for controlling a single-rod electro-hydraulic actuator with high-precision control and large-flow requirements. Harmonic and synchronous compound control consists of an adaptive robust control layer and a control law allocation layer. In adaptive robust control layer, an adaptive robust control algorithm is designed to deal with the system nonlinearities and uncertainties via backstepping method. Meanwhile, dynamic surface control technique and “lumped flow” are introduced to solve the differential explosion problem and the multiple input-single output control problem. In control law allocation layer, the harmonic and synchronous compound strategy allocates the control law to two valves reasonably based on system flow and valve frequency characteristics. Furthermore, since the effect of the proportional valve dead-zone can be compensated effectively by combining the estimation of the dead-zone flow by adaptive term, the estimation error compensation by robust term, and the allocation method of control law allocation layer, improved tracking performance can be achieved. Finally, both simulations and experiments are demonstrated to illustrate the advantages of the proposed control scheme.

Abstract:The paper proposes the plan for synchro-driven control system with common feedback and fuzzy synchro-error correction based on the analysis of synchro-driven control technology and reason of synchronization errors, then corrects the fuzzy controller. At last, it is proved that the synchro-driven control system proposed is efficient to improve the control precision and reduce the synchronization errors by experiment.

Abstract:This paper proposes a decoupling compensation method for damping improvement of the electrohydraulic control system with multiple actuators. The low damping property of hydraulic systems has been a remarkably troublesome issue for a few decades. Previously, this issue with one actuator has been addressed effectively by state feedback and signal compensation, e.g., dynamic pressure feedback. However, the poor damping with multiple actuators is still intractable and pendent due to the complex coupling effect of different loads. A decoupling compensator based on pump/valve combined control is proposed for a typical electrohydraulic system with multiple actuators for mobile machinery. Using decoupling control of different load branches, the coupling hydraulic circuit with multiple cylinders is transformed into multiple separate single-cylinder circuits with dynamic compensation. The dynamic characteristics of different actuators are then improved synchronously without mutual interference, while the steady performance remains the same without loss of controllability. Compound motion tests on a 2-ton hydraulic excavator were carried out. The results showed that the proposed compensator reduced velocity and pressure oscillations under different working conditions, so the dynamic performance is improved for the multiactuator system.
Decoupling-based adaptive sliding-mode synchro-position control for a dual-cylinder driven hydraulic support with different pipelines

Abstract:Dual-cylinder driving columns of a hydraulic support are required to be synchronous, with the purpose of guaranteeing the support balance and providing the roof an enough force. In addition, pipelines connecting cylinders with electro-hydraulic servo-valve have a significance influence on synchronization. Taking the length of pipelines into account, the mathematical model of a dual-cylinder driven hydraulic support is built, and the displacement-force coupling characteristic caused by the shared pump is tackled by a decoupling compensator. Following that, an adaptive sliding-mode synchro-position control strategy (ASSC) is designed based on an improved sliding mode reaching law and an adaptive law is developed to restrain the uncertainties resulted from the sub-system after decoupling. The experimental results obtained from the joint simulation platform and practical system show that the proposed controller can effectively reduce the synchronization error between two column positions and has better control performance than the PI and fuzzy PID controllers.

Abstract:This paper presents a decoupling controller equipped with cross-coupling pre-compensation for an electro-hydraulic parallel robot, in order to weaken system dynamic coupling effects usually ignored on the design of advanced controllers and improve system control performance. The mathematical model of the electro-hydraulic parallel robot is built using the Kane method and a hydromechanics approach, and the kinematical model is established with a closed-form solution and the Newton-Raphson method. The feedback linearization theory is applied to reduce coupling effects stemmed from system dynamics of the parallel robot via incorporating force-velocity control with cross-coupling pre-compensations. The control performance involving stability, accuracy, and robustness of the proposed controller for spatial 6-DOF parallel robot is analyzed in theory and experiment. The experimental results illustrate that the proposed controller can highly improve the control performance by weakening system dynamic coupling effects of the electro-hydraulic parallel robot, especially for trajectory tracking performance.

Abstract:Background: Electro-hydraulic servo control system synchronous control in industrial application is very extensive because the application of electro-hydraulic servo control system is mostly in a poor working environment, there are a variety of complex external factors. Objective: Improve the comprehensive performance indicators such as accuracy, speed, and stability of synchronous control of hydraulic cylinders Methods: In the process of synchronous movement, the typical hardware structure and control methods and algorithm strategies of the double hydraulic cylinder are analyzed in detail, and the basic principle of common hydraulic double cylinder synchronous control is summarized. Results: Through the comprehensive analysis of papers and patent documents related to the synchronous control of hydraulic twin cylinders, these papers and patented technologies study the control algorithm, and apply the new technology to the synchronous control of electro-hydraulic servo hydraulic cylinders to improve its comprehensive performance indicators such as work accuracy, speed and stability. Conclusion: Referring to the development trajectory of control algorithms in this regard, combined with new control theory and new technology, many achievements can be applied and researched in hydraulic cylinder synchronous control, and better develop the synchronous control system when double hydraulic cylinders and more hydraulic cylinders work together. By collating and analyzing the relevant research results, the two-cylinder synchronous control technology is comprehensively evaluated and prospected, which provides a valuable reference for the research and application in this field.

Abstract:Based on model reference adaptive control (MRAC), a MRAC synchronous controller is designed. And the reference model of the MRAC is determined according to the linear mathematical model of the electro-hydraulic servo system. Then the synchronous controller is applied to position synchronization of two cylinders system. The experiment results show that the proposed controller can effectively reduce the synchronous deviation and improve the synchronous accuracy.

Abstract:This paper is to develop an optimal electro-hydraulic dual-shaking table system with high waveform replication precision. The parameters of hydraulic cylinders, servo valves, hydraulic supply power and gravity balance system are designed and optimized in detail. To improve synchronization and tracking control precision, a hybrid control strategy is proposed. The cross-coupled control using a novel based on sliding mode control based on adaptive reaching law (ASMC), which can adaptively tune the parameters of sliding mode control (SMC), is proposed to reduce the synchronization error. To improve the tracking performance, the observer-based inverse control scheme combining the feed-forward inverse model controller and disturbance observer is proposed. The system model is identified applying the recursive least squares (RLS) algorithm and then the feed-forward inverse controller is designed based on zero phase error tracking controller (ZPETC) technique. To compensate disturbance and model errors, disturbance observer is used cooperating with the designed inverse controller. The combination of the novel ASMC cross-coupled controller and proposed observer-based inverse controller can improve the control precision noticeably. The dual-shaking table experiment system is built and various experiments are performed. The experimental results indicate that the developed system with the proposed hybrid control strategy is feasible and efficient and can reduce the tracking errors to 25% and synchronization error to 16% compared with traditional control schemes.

Abstract:Dual parallel motion systems are mechanisms that drive load jointly by dual parallel motion axes. For these special mechanisms, diminishing desynchronization between parallel axes is essential to harness the potential performance of the whole system. However, a wide variety of synchronization applications tend to have great differences in control objectives and mechanical structures, which makes it laborious and time-consuming to design customized control schemes. Meanwhile, existing generalized synchronous control schemes are simply based on state compensation, which finitely offset mechanical coupling effect and limit the synchronization performance. To overcome these drawbacks, a generalized model of dual parallel motion systems is presented in this article, which can categorize the synchronous control objective into one uniform expression. By applying motion decoupling strategy to the generalized model, an advanced composite synchronous control scheme is proposed, which provides a generalized synchronization solution with comprehensively considering the motion coupling effect. Finally, simulation and experimental results on a dual-driven gantry platform verify that the proposed control scheme can significantly improve the synchronization performance.

Abstract:This paper presented a novel control scheme for electro-hydraulically driven parallel robot, in order to improve control performance by eliminating the effect of system coupling in controller. The mathematical model of the electro-hydraulic parallel robot is formulated, including mechanical system and electro-hydraulic system, using Kane method and hydromechanics principle. The decoupled space is exploited for electro-hydraulic parallel robot by using singular value decomposition (SVD) approach. In the decoupled space, a simple but effective controller is developed with only actuator position as its feedback. Theoretical analysis and numerical simulation results show that the proposed control greatly overcomes the drawbacks of dynamic coupling in the workspace of parallel robot and exhibits excellent control performance, especially tracking performance.

Abstract:Synchronization problem was the principal problem and technological challenge for hydrostatic driving tracked vehicle in straight working conditions. The asymmetry caused by parameter perturbations, friction resistance coefficient, leakage coefficient and pump displacement are taken into consideration. These factors were treated as disturbance inputs, and were suppressed by control algorithm. A simulation model of system was developed by Matlab/Simulink and synchronization control strategies for hydraulic transmission of tracked vehicle were designed. The coupling system was decoupled with matrix theory and unilateral closed loop correction was completed based on lag-lead corrector. Then equalizing synchronous circuit and cross-coupling synchronous circuit were applied to reduce the synchronous error. Finally, auto-disturbance rejection controller (ADRC) was proposed. The simulation results showed that the cross-coupling synchronous circuit had better resistance to parameters asymmetry than equalizing synchronous circuit. ADRC improved the synchronous performance further and had a better robustness to the time-varying system.

Abstract:Decoupling of the electro-hydraulic multivariable position coupling system is designed and experimented using diagonal matrix method. The feedback decoupling and feedback complete decoupling schenes are applied respectively to eliminate the effects of structure coupling and outside disturbance force on the decoupiling control. The results show that it has distinct decoupling effect. This method can be realized only by position value of two hydraulic cylinder piston,so that the algorithm is simple and easy to be applied in engineering.
