Abstract:AIM: To study the chemical constituents of the volatile oil from Dendrobium Nobile Lindl.and Dendrobium Loddigesii Rolfe. METHODS: The chemical compositions of the volatile oil of the plants which were obtained by organic-team distillation with hexane were analyzed by GC-MS. The constituents were identified by their mass spectra.The relative percentage of the oil constituents was calculated from the GC peak areas. RESULTS: One hundred and nine components were detected in the volatile constituents of Dendrobium nobile Lindl; of which sixty-three compounds representing 86.26% of the oil were characterized.Sixty-three components were detected in the volatile constituents of Dendrobium Loddigesii Rolfe;of which fifty-two compounds representing 87.48% of the volatile oil were identified.There were 10 kinds of the same components in the two kinds of oil. CONCLUSION: This paper reports,for the first time,the composition of volatile oils from Dendrobium Nobile Lindl.and Dendrobium Loddigesii Rolfe which were obtained by organic-team distillation with hexane.
