Abstract:Knowledge is most often and directly expressed in natural language. Therefore, the representation and acquisition of knowledge play a key role in studies on information processing and natural language understanding. Also , they are the principal issues in establishing a knowledge database. Only highly formalized descriptive systems or knowledge databases can be processed by computers. On the basis of the descriptive mechanisms of lexicalist theory, the present paper tries to provide a detailed description and integration of the syntactic, semantic and other types of information of Korean , in the form of lexical structures.

Abstract:In any NLP systems, including that of MT, syntactic and semantic information dictionary is an essential component. Based on the achievements in semantic project studies both at home and abroad, the present paper provides an integrative description of the syntax and semantics of Korean predicates, with an aim to construct an information-processing-oriented Korean knowledge database. The semantic framework is drawn from theta structure theory and semantic field theory. We begin with a semantic classification of Korean predicates, which is followed by a detailed description of the semantic properties of these predicates. And in the construction of the dictionary, we integrate syntactic and semantic properties in a structural way.

Abstract:Combined with the KBE-Based design of Turbo Expansion Engine, the acquisition, classi- fication, deduction and application about the knowledge was introduced on the theory of general knowledge database (GKDB). The deep-seated and the basic knowledge about it were analyzed. On the base of the normal knowledge based engineering, the new design method—the combination of general knowledge database and the knowledge fusion tools (KF) of CAD software was applied. A frame-based object description language was pro- posed to represent multiple domain knowledge. The SQL Server was applied as the platform of founding the GKDB, and the NX KF was used as the tools for the knowledge fusion in the CAD software. Special GKDB was founded in the KBE design system for the machine. The combination with the knowledge fusion tools was also achieved in the design.

Abstract:The DBpedia project extracts structured information from Wikipedia using DBpedia Knowledge Extraction Framework,describes resources with semantic web technologies such as RDF and ontology,thus resulting a cross-domain,multi-language and large scale knowledge base.This paper analyses its information organization,including the method of information extraction,description and obtainment,summarizes the characteristics and signification of DBpedia,introduces applications that can be developed using this knowledge base combine with living examples.

Abstract:From the perspective of knowledge organization,the authors make a deep study on the knowledge organization structure based on document compiling in ancient China and argues that there is correspondence with the structure of document organization.Knowledge organization structure in ancient China can be divided into three levels,such as knowledge organization based on natural and social institutions,knowledge organization based on document unit and knowledge organization based on knowledge unit.Accordingly,it conducts an in-depth inquiry on knowledge organization methods,achievements of every level and the relationship between them.The study may help to reveal the relationship between ancient library science and modern library science.

Abstract:With the development of science and technology, the intelligent knowledge resource will ultimately decide the fotune of enterprises. As a result, the efficient knowledge management will be the most necessary demand of contemporary enterprises. According to research and analyzing on knowldege resources the scale free characteristics of the knowledge network were discovered and a new concept of scale-free knowledge grid was put forward. The idea of grid computing and methodology of scale-free model were adopted in the design of a problem-solving-oriented scale-free knowledge grid (SK-Grid) which emphasizes on the efficient organization of knowledge resources instead the traditional knowledge data base with a dynamic knowledge network and enables distributed users to efficiently solve a complex problem. Furthermore the application of scale-fee methodology improves the rationality of knowledge management and prompts the evolution of method and technology of resource configuring. The concept architecture, key technologies and application of SK-Grid were addressed in the paper.

Abstract:Since 1986,the Institute of Computational Linguistics at Peking University has been working on the Comprehensive Language Knowledge Base(CLKB),which consists of 6 language knowledge bases,10 specifications and standards,4 application systems and a software tool kit.These components provide support for each other and integrate into CLKB to describe linguistic knowledge on morphological,syntactic and semantic levels.The language data that have been collected include words,phrases,sentences and discourse in Chinese and many other languages,which occur in specific fields as well as the general domain.After 25 years of development,significant progress in CLKB has been made,and it is still growing.This paper gives an introduction to CLKB and explores its potential in the future.

Abstract:In this paper, according to the analysis of the logical relationship between information and knowledge, the “Hyper Text” of oriented-object technology is introduced into the area of Knowledge Discovery in Databases and it has presented one means of Knowledge Discovery in Databases based on the transfer of state space. At the same time, a system architecture of Knowledge Discovery in Databases Oriented Knowledge Application has been constructed. By an organic integration of initiative express with man's knowledge and intelligent express for the information stored in computers, the mapping from the intellectual logic to knowledge express has been realized. by this way the pertinence and validity of Knowledge Discovery in Databases has been improved greatly.

Abstract:PurposeThis study aims to extract knowledge of ancient Chinese scientific and technological documents bibliographic summaries (STDBS) and provide the knowledge graph (KG) comprehensively and systematically. By presenting the relationship among content, discipline, and author, this study focuses on providing services for knowledge discovery of ancient Chinese scientific and technological documents.Design/methodology/approachThis study compiles ancient Chinese STDBS and designs a knowledge mining and graph visualization framework. The authors define the summaries' entities, attributes, and relationships for knowledge representation, use deep learning techniques such as BERT-BiLSTM-CRF models and rules for knowledge extraction, unify the representation of entities for knowledge fusion, and use Neo4j and other visualization techniques for KG construction and application. This study presents the generation, distribution, and evolution of ancient Chinese agricultural scientific and technological knowledge in visualization graphs.FindingsThe knowledge mining and graph visualization framework is feasible and effective. The BERT-BiLSTM-CRF model has domain adaptability and accuracy. The knowledge generation of ancient Chinese agricultural scientific and technological documents has distinctive time features. The knowledge distribution is uneven and concentrated, mainly concentrated on C1-Planting and cultivation, C2-Silkworm, and C3-Mulberry and water conservancy. The knowledge evolution is apparent, and differentiation and integration coexist.Originality/valueThis study is the first to visually present the knowledge connotation and association of ancient Chinese STDBS. It solves the problems of the lack of in-depth knowledge mining and connotation visualization of ancient Chinese STDBS.

Abstract:Objectives This study aims to explore the situations, hotspots, and dynamic evolution of Korean language education-related research in China to provide ideas and references for future works in this field. Methods This study adopts the method of bibliometric visualization. Based on the China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI) database and the metrological visualization software CiteSpace6.2. R4, this paper analyzes the published papers on Korean language education research from 2003 to 2023 and draws Knowledge graphs. Results This study has found that research on Korean language education in China can be divided into three stages, namely the initial development period (2003-2014), the stable growth period (2015-2020),and the decline period (2021 present). A high-yield author group has yet to be formed, and there needs to be more cooperation between authors and research institutions. The research institutions are concentrated in the northeastern provinces, with the main body being vocational colleges. The primary research focuses on teaching methods, curriculum reform, and language application. Conclusions By utilizing CiteSpace, this study presents six tabular visualizations of bibliometric data pertaining to Chinese research on Korean language education: list of the most published authors, list of research institutes , list of journals, list of high frequency keywords and centrality, keyword co-occurrence network map and the top 10 keywords with the strongest citation burstness. In conjunction with the temporal distribution table of the research, these six tables and figures comprehensively depict the current state of research in Korean language education in mainland China. Research exhibits a high degree of concentration in subjects, themes, and outcomes, which is also a limitation. In future studies, researchers should emphasize using interdisciplinary methods to expand the scope of Korean language education research while strengthening institutional and cross-border cooperation to explore growing hotspots.

Abstract:Drawing upon relevant papers from Chinese core journals and CSSCI source journals in the CNKI China Academic Journals Full-Text Database spanning from 1992 to 2023, this study utilizes CiteSpace as a research tool to visually analyze the knowledge graph structure of research on international Chinese language textbooks in China. The study maps out the publication timeline, authors, institutions, collaborative networks, and keywords pertaining to research on international Chinese language textbooks. The findings indicate that research on international Chinese language textbooks commenced early and continues to maintain a certain level of research interest, yet lacks sufficient research output. Research institutions predominantly reside in universities and publishing groups specializing in language or education, with collaboration between institutions being relatively scarce. High-frequency keywords in recent research on international Chinese language textbooks include “Chinese language textbooks for the Foreigners,” “Chinese language textbooks,” “Teaching Chinese Language for the Foreigners,” “Textbook compilation,” “International Chinese Language Education and Localization,” which reflect a diversified research perspective with interdisciplinary trends. Future research priorities encompass research on localization, customization of textbooks, and evaluation of textbooks which represent forefront directions of research.

Abstract:The scale and quality of the knowledge-base decides the success or failure of the natural language processing system. Institute of computational linguistics of Peking university has accumulated a series of languages-data resources that have good quality with considerable scale after 18 years of diligent work: the grammatical knowledge-base of contemporary Chinese, the large-scale POS-Tagged corpus of contemporary Chinese, Semantics Knowledge-base of Contemporary Chinese (SKCC), Chinese Concept Dictionary (CCD), a bilingual parallel corpus with different aligned units, special term bank of different disciplines, the phrase structure knowledge-base of contemporary Chinese, a corpus of ancient Chinese poems. The present research will integrate these language data resources into one unified and comprehensive language knowledge-base. While incorporating all these different resources, the gaps between them must be filled up. The comprehensive language knowledge-base being planned will provide not only friendly using interface and convenient application program interface but also various software toolssupporting knowledge mining. Therefore, the research promotes the present language data resources to develop constantly from primary products into deep processed products. It will set up diversified forms of knowledge spreading mechanism and information service mechanism to offer omni-directional and multi-level support to language information processing, traditional linguistics research and language teaching.
Building a Large-scale Chinese Event Knowledge Base

Abstract:This paper proposes a solution to the construction of a large-scale Chinese event knowledge base.The static knowledge bases and dynamic annotated corpus are integrated to describe complete event content.In a unified framework,5 different sub-databases are partitioned and developed independently.They can be combined as whole event knowledge base through the build-in Key wordsamong them designed in advance.A demonstration knowledge base to describe Chinese existence and ownership events were built under this framework.Its static knowledge base covers 72 situations and 1548 word senses,and the dynamic annotated corpus contains 100,000 event chunk annotated sentences for 598 event target verbs.The experimental results prove the feasibility of the proposed method.

Abstract:This paper proposes keyword-citation-keyword (KCK) network to analyze the knowledge structure of a discipline. Different from traditional co-word network analysis, KCK network highlights the importance of keywords assigned in different articles, as well as the semantic relationship between keywords in various articles. In this study, we select computer science domain as an example to illustrate the proposed method. Meanwhile, the results of network analysis, PageRank analysis, and research topic analysis are compared with those of traditional co-word analysis. A total of 110,360 articles with 164,146 unique keywords and 1,615,030 references collected from ACM digital library have been used for this empirical study. The results demonstrate that KCK network outperforms in detecting indirect links between keywords with higher semantic relationship, identifying important knowledge units, as well as discovering the topics with greater significance. Findings from this study contribute to a new perspective and understanding for elucidating discipline knowledge structures, and provide guidance for applying this method in various disciplines.

Abstract:As social media has been popularized, users have shifted from the receiver of knowledge to the creator and communicator of knowledge. Besides, the relationship between users has become more sophisticated. In two-way and one-way networks, different network relationship structures formed be-tween users have different impacts on the knowledge learning of infor-mation recipients. Some studies highlighted that knowledge, according to the different forms of knowledge generation and expression, can be split in-to explicit and tacit knowledge. Thus, in the network structure with differ-ent levels of relationship intensity, which type of knowledge can be spread and learned better? To answer this question, this study first uses second-hand data analysis. As revealed from the results of empirical research, under Weibo and WeChat, i.e., two different network structures, a variety of knowledge dissemination learning will have different effects. Then, by ana-lyzing questionnaire data, the phenomenon and its internal mechanism are explained in accordance with the theory of regulatory focus.

Abstract:The key to knowledge base construction is knowledge representation, in which the representation of syntactic-semantic knowledge plays a critical role. Adopting a syntax-based approach to semantic description and based on the principles of integrated description, a syntactic-semantic hierarchical framework for Korean verbs was proposed and a knowledge base was constructed. Besides, the principles for the representation of syntactic-semantic information of Korean verbs were discussed in detail, and the mechanisms for deriving a verb's syntactic-semantic items were explored based on a syntactic-semantic knowledge base for Korean verbs.
