Abstract:In this paper, we prove the stability in the sense of Hyers-Ulam stability of a kind of polynomial equation. That is, if y is an approximate solution of the polynomial equation any n+an−1y n−1+· · ·+a1y+a0 = 0, then there exists an exact solution of the polynomial equation near to y.

Abstract:We establish the Hyers-Ulam stability of a second-order linear Hill-type $h$-difference equation with a periodic coefficient. Using results from first-order $h$-difference equations with periodic coefficient of arbitrary order, both homogeneous and non-homogeneous, we also establish a Hyers-Ulam stability constant. Several interesting examples are provided. As a powerful application, we use the main result to prove the Hyers-Ulam stability of a certain third-order $h$-difference equation with periodic coefficients of one form.

Abstract:With the linear matrix inequalities (LMI) method, this paper investigates the stability of a class of hybrid systems with uncertain nonlinear subsystems. Based on single Lyapunov function, the sufficient conditions of this system for global asymptotic stability are proposed. Furthermore, using the method of piecewise quadratic Lyapunov function, the sufficient conditions of this system for local asymptotic stability are derived. By applying the result, the sufficient conditions of stability can be formulated as a convex problem in terms of linear matrix inequalities, which can be solved by relevant software.

Abstract:The main purpose of this paper is to obtain necessary and sufficient conditions under which a nonautonomous, finite-dimensional and two-sided dynamics generated by a sequence of matrices or a linear ODE exhibits Hyers-Ulam stability. Specifically, in the case of discrete time we consider a nonautonomous difference equation with possibly noninvertible coefficients, while in the case of continuous time we deal with a nonautonomous ordinary differential equation without any bounded growth assumptions.

Abstract:Integral equations with infinite delay are considered as functional equations in a Banach space. Two types of Hyers–Ulam stability criteria are established. First, it is shown that a linear autonomous equation is Hyers–Ulam stable if and only if it has no characteristic value with zero real part. Second, it is proved that the Hyers–Ulam stability of a linear autonomous equation is preserved under sufficiently small nonlinear perturbations. The proofs are based on a recently developed decomposition theory of linear integral equations with infinite delay.

Abstract:By adopting the direct method and fixed point method, we prove that the Hyers-Ulam stability of the following additive-quadratic functional equation \begin{equation} f(x+y, z+w)+f(x-y, z-w)-2 f(x, z)-2 f(x, w)=0 \end{equation} in $\beta$-homogeneous $F$-spaces and quasi-Banach spaces. There are some differences that we consider the target space with the $\beta$-homogeneous norm and quasi-norm. Overcoming the $\beta$-homogeneous norm and quasi-norm bottlenecks, we get some new results.

Abstract:We introduce a new concept of Hyers-Ulam stability, in which in the size of a pseudosolution of a given ordinary differential equation and its deviation from an exact solution are measured with respect to different norms. These norms are associated to $L^p$-spaces for $p\in [1, \infty]$. Our main objective is to formulate sufficient conditions under which semilinear ordinary differential equations exhibit such property. In addition, in certain special cases we obtain explicit formulas for the best Hyers-Ulam constant.

Abstract:Let X be a Banach space over R or C . We study Ulam–Hyers stability on the time interval R of linear differential equations with continuous coefficients, considering solutions with values in X for higher order equations, and solutions with values in X n for first-order systems. Roughly speaking, Ulam–Hyers stability of an equation is its property of having an exact solution close to an approximate solution. For a first-order system x ′ = A x , we obtain that its Ulam–Hyers stability is equivalent to another important property, namely for each continuous and bounded function g : R → X n there exists a bounded solution of x ′ = A x + g . Using this result, theory of Jordan forms of matrices and Floquet theory, we characterize the Ulam–Hyers stability of a system x ′ = A x with periodic coefficients in terms of its characteristic multipliers. Our main result states that the Ulam–Hyers stability of a linear equation with periodic coefficients of order n with unknown x is equivalent to the Ulam–Hyers stability of the corresponding system satisfied by ( x , x ′ , … , x ( n − 1 ) ) .

Abstract:In this paper, we present a uniqueness theorem obtained by using direct calculation. This theorem is applicable to stability problems of functional equations whose solutions are monomial or generalized polynomial mappings of degree n. The advantage of this uniqueness theorem is that it simplifies the proof by eliminating the need to repeatedly and cumbersomely prove uniqueness in stability studies.

Abstract:In this paper, we first establish a sufficient condition for the Schur stability, then use that result to establish a necessary and sufficient condition for the robust Schur stability of interval polynomial, from which an algorithm is developed to determine the Schur stability of interval polynomial. Finally, a numerical example is given to demonstrate the applicability of our algorithm.

Abstract:In this paper, we discuss the robust stability of a class of polynomial families more general than the interval polynomial family and diamond polynomial family. We prove that the Hurwitz stability of some special cases of this class of polynomial families can be determined by checking finite polynomials. We also give an example to illustrate that it is not always possible to determine the Hurwitz stability of all this class of polynomial families by checking finite polynomials.

Abstract:In this paper, the Hyers–Ulam stability of linear quaternion-valued differential equations with two-sided constant coefficients are studied. Utilizing the complex representation of quaternions, we transform a n th-order quaternion-valued differential equation with two-sided constant coefficients into four n th-order complex differential equations. Then we derive the Hyers–Ulam stability by means of the reduced order method and the relationship between the quaternion-valued differential equations and the system of complex-valued differential equations. Two examples are presented to illustrate the validity of the theoretical results.

Lastly , by using the fixed pointed alternative , the general solution to the above functional equation was given and the stability of cubic functional equation was proved .

Abstract:This article deals with the study of Hyers–Ulam stability (HU stability) and Hyers–Ulam–Rassias stability (HUR stability) for two classes of nonlinear Volterra integral equations (VIEqs), which are Hammerstein-type integral and Hammerstein-type functional integral equations, respectively. In this article, both the HU stability and HUR stability are obtained for the first integral equation and the HUR stability is obtained for the second integral equation. Among the used techniques, we present fixed point arguments and the Gronwall lemma as a basic tool. Two supporting examples are also provided to demonstrate the applications and effectiveness of the results.
