Abstract:With dilute sulfuric acid as catalyst, the effects of reaction temperature and sulfuric acid concentration on xylose dehydration reaction were investigated under microwave irradiation. The kinetics equation of xylose dehydration was built. The results showed that the conversion of xylose increased with the increase of reaction temperature and mass fraction of sulfuric acid. The activation energy was 48.05 kJ/mol and the frequency factor changed with mass fraction of sulfuric acid. The conversion of xylose calculated by the kinetics equation was in good agreement with the conversion from experiment.
