Abstract:Platinum nanoparticles supported on noncovalent functionalized graphene modified by 1,10-Phenanthroline were prepared by ethylene glycol reduction process under the assistance of microwave.Their morphology and structure were determined by SEM and XRD,respectively. The results show that platinum particles are uniformly dispersed on the surface of 1,10-Phenanthroline noncovalent modified graphene, and the particle size is about 2.3 nm,which is smaller than that of platinum nanoparticles(2.8 nm) directly deposited on graphene. The CV curves in sulfuric acid solution also demonstrate that Pt/Phen-G has a greater electrochemical activity surface(EAS) compared with Pt/G.The electrocatalytic behavior of Pt/Phen-G and Pt/G for oxygen reduction were tested using the rotating disk electrode. It shows that the catalytic potential of Pt/Phen-G for oxygen reduction shifts somewhat positively and the specific mass activity of Pt/Phen-G is 1.4 times than that of Pt/G at 0.5 V(Vs.Ag/AgCl) and 1 225 r/min.
