Abstract:1-((2R)-7,7-dimethylbicycloheptan-2-yl)-1H-imidazole was prepared from(+)-camphor,reductive amination followed by hydrogenolysis debenzylation provided the key intermediate–(2R)-7,7-dimethylbicyclo heptan-2-amine,and the target compound was finally synthesized by refluxing this amine with fomaldehyde;glyoxal solution and ammonia.

Abstract:The title compound [systematic name: 1-(7-isopropyl-1,4a-dimethyl-1,2,3,4,4a,9,10,10a-octahydrophenanthren-1-ylmeth- yl)-4,5-diphenyl-1H-imidazole], C35H40N2, was obtained via the one-pot three-component condensation of benzil, formaldehyde and dehydroabietylamine, which is a fungal toxin. The two substituent phenyl groups and the imidazole ring form a conjugated system. The dihedral angles between the imidazole ring and the phenyl rings are 70.18 (9) and 12.77 (12)degrees. In the crystal structure, there are one intramolecular and two intermolecular hydrogen-bonding C-H center dot center dot center dot pi contacts. Furthermore, a weak C-H center dot center dot center dot N intramolecular hydrogen bond is observed.

Abstract:5-[2-(ethylthio)propyl]-1,3-cyclohexanedione, the title compound of this study, is an important intermediate for preparation of 3-hydroxy-cyclohex-2-enones herbicides, such as clethodim, sethoxydim, cloproxydim, etc.. The optimization of the synthesis route and the preparation method of the title compound were studied and the results were described concisely as follows. Firstly, 3-ethylthiobutanal was prepared with high yield by reacting crotonaldehyde with ethanethiol in triethylamine. Secondly, methyl acetoacetate was converted to 6-ethylthiohept-3-en-2-one via three steps, hydrolysis, condensation with 3-ethylthiobutanal and dehydration, then the 6-ethylthiohept-3-en-2-one was cyclocondensed with di-Me malonate by Michael addition and Clasisen condensation, and further via saponification and decarboxylation , the title compound was obtained. The products of each steps and the final title compound obtained were compared with each its own standerd samples and were confirmed by LC/MS.

Abstract:1-[Hexahydrocyclopenta[c]pyrrol-2(1H)-yl]-3-(4-methylbenzenesulfonyl)urea (Gliclazide) was synthesised over three steps from the starting material of cyclopentane-1,2-dicarboxylic anhydride. N-aminocyclopentane-1, 2-dicarboximide was obtained from the condensation reaction between the material and 80% hydrazine hydrate. The reduction of N-aminocyclopentane-1,2-dicarboximide and followed by the condensation with p-toluenesulfonyl urea generated Gliclazide. Every step was modified to be more simple and gave a 60% overall yield. The procedure is suitable for large-scale production.

Abstract:p-trifluoromethylbenzonitrile was prepared from p-(trifluoromethyl)chlorobenzene and potussium cyanide catalyzed by tris(triphenylphosphine)nickle(0), which was prepared from anhydrous NiCl2 and triphenylphosphine in the presence of zinc.And then, the produced intermideate, p-trifluoromethylbenzonitrile was treated with hydrogen sulfide to give p-(trifluoromethyl)thiobenzamide and the yield of 90% with the purity of 99.7% was obtained for the objective product.The structure is correct through IR and GC-MS testing.The operation process is simple and reaction condition is moderate.

Abstract:Using 3,4-dichlorobenzenamine as raw material,5,6-dichloro-2-methylbenzimidazole was prepared by four unit reactions(acylation,nitration,reduction and cyclization).It has been showed that the acylation of 3,4-dichlorobenzenamine and the followed nitration could be finished in one pot,yielding 4,5-dichloro-2-nitrobenacetylamine in 85.9%.Reduction of 4,5-dichloro-2-nitrobenacetylamine with zinc dust offered 4,5-dichloro-2-aminobenzenamine in yield of 87.2%.Then 4,5-dichloro-2-aminobenzenamine was cyclized with acetic acid to give final 5,6-dichloro-2-methylbenziminazole in yield of 88.5%.

Abstract:A novel synthesis process of 5H-dibenz[b,f]azepine was studied.It is an important intermediate of 5H-dibenz[b,f]azepine-5-carboxamide,used in genetic engineering,materials science and so on.With 10,11-dihydro-5H-dibenz[b,f]azepine as raw material,5-chloroformyl-5H-dibenz[b,f]azepine was prepared by reflux with triphosgene in toluene,brominated with bromine in chlorobenzene,and dehydrobrominated at 130℃,finally,the title compound was obtained by removing chloroformyl group with NaOH in isopropanol with 80.4% overall yield.The optimal reaction conditions and yields (temperature,time,molar yield) were as follows: acyl chlorination,110℃,10 h,93.0%; bromination,dehydrobromination,100℃,2 h,130℃,5 h,88.0%; removal of chloroformyl group,40℃,3 h,98.2%. The melting point of the title compound was the same as literature reported,and its structure was confirmed by 1H NMR.The optimal technology condition to remove chloroformyl group as protection group and its application of protection for some amine compounds were also studied.

Abstract:Imidazoles annulated to saturated six‐membered cycles featuring S, SO2, NH, NCbz have been prepared in bulk quantities. The starting previously unknown cyclic α‐amino ketones were obtained via the Neber rearrangement. Unstable tosyl ketoximes were used without purification immediately after their preparation. Marckwald reaction with desulfurization using Raney nickel led to the formation of the annulated imidazoles. A synthetic approach to imidazoles annulated to saturated six‐membered cycles featuring S, SO2, NH, NCbz was developed. It was achieved by combining the Neber rearrangement and the Marckwald reaction. The Neber rearrangement applied to cyclic ketones allowed us to prepare in hundred gram quantities previously unknown α‐amino ketones. Unstable tosyl ketoximes were used without purification immediately after their preparation. α‐Amino ketones react with potassium thiocyanate and cyanate in almost a quantitative yield affording highly pure imidazol‐2‐thiones or imidazol‐2‐ones. Desulfurization of imidazole‐2‐thiones using Raney nickel led to the formation of previously unknown 2‐unsubstituted fused imidazoles in high yields.

Abstract:A facile method for the synthesis of tetrahydropyrimidines is described. Diethylamine was treated with methyl propiolate to provide Michael adduct (beta-amino acrylate). In the presence of organic acid, the cyclization between imines with beta-aminoacrylateoccurred at room temperature and completed within several minutes to give tetrahydropyrimidines with liberation of ammonium salt. Formaldimines show good toleration to the reaction.

Abstract:In this paper, a novel and sustainable synthesis of the hitherto unreported 5H-benzo[c]imidazo[1,2-a]azepine-6-carboxylic acids via the cascade reactions of 2-arylimidazoles (1) with methylene-oxetanones (2) is presented. Mechanistically, the formation of the title compounds is triggered by a Rh(iii)-catalyzed C(sp2)-H alkenylation of 1 with 2 followed by an intramolecular N-nucleophilic substitution. With this method, a series of hybrid compounds combining the biologically promising imidazole and benzoazepine moieties decorated with a synthetically versatile carboxyl group were prepared in moderate to good efficiency. In addition, the utility of the products thus obtained was remarkably showcased by their efficient transformations into some otherwise difficult-to-obtain pentacyclic compounds.

Abstract:Imidazole is a common and important heterocyclic fragment of many biologically important molecules. 5-imidazole-carbaldehydes containing mono- (N-1) methyl (or aryl) analogs are commonly used as building blocks in medical chemistry. In this study, starting from 4-methyl-1H-imidazole-5-carbaldehyde, the N-1 atom of the imidazole ring is derived with different alkyl groups. In addition, both N atoms of the starting imidazole-carbaldehyde were methylated to give 5-carbaldehyde-1,3,4-trimethyl-3-imidazolium salt. The salt which possess quite reactive carbaldehyde group could be used as a precursor for synthesis of other imidazolium derivatives. Furthermore, 4-methyl-5-imidazole carbaldehyde was converted into the benzoxazole, benzothiazole and benzoimidazole by a two-step reaction over the aldehyde group. These new compounds could display some biological activities.

Abstract:Anthraquinone moiety is very common among naturally occurring bioactive compounds. Many commercially available drug molecules also possess anthraquinone moiety. In recent times, among many other anthraquinone derivatives, specifically, 2- substituted-1 H -anthra[1,2- d ]imidazole-6,11-diones are gaining extra attention due to their significant anti-cancer, anti-HIV, anti-inflammatory activities, etc. This study aimed to report a simple, straightforward, organocatalyzed method for the efficient synthesis of a series of 2-aryl/heteroaryl/alkyl-1 H -anthra[1,2- d ]imidazole-6,11-diones from the reactions of 1,2-diaminoanthraquinone and various aldehydes using a catalytic amount of camphorsulfonic acid as an efficient organocatalyst in aqueous ethanol under refluxed conditions. Under the same optimized reaction conditions, along with aryl or heteroaryl aldehydes, aliphatic aldehydes also underwent a smooth reaction and afforded the desired products in excellent yields. All the synthesized compounds were obtained pure in excellent yields by simple filtration and washing subsequently with ethanol. The use of less toxic solvent, low-cost, commercially available metal-free organocatalyst, no column chromatographic separation, good yields, and easy isolation procedure are some of the major advantages of this newly developed protocol.

Abstract:Pulsed electric field (PEF) processing is an effective technique for the preservation of pumpable food products as it inactivates vegetative microbial cells at ambient to moderate temperature without significantly affecting the nutritional and sensorial quality of the product. However, conflicting views are expressed about the effect of PEF on enzymes. In this review, which is part 2 of a series of reviews dealing with the effectiveness of novel food preservation technologies for controlling enzymes, the scientific literature over the last decade on the effect of PEF on plant enzymes is critically reviewed to shed more light on the issue. The existing evidence indicates that PEF can result in substantial inactivation of most enzymes, although a much more intense process is required compared to microbial inactivation. Depending on the processing condition and the origin of the enzyme, up to 97% inactivation of pectin methylesterase, polyphenol oxidase, and peroxidase as well as no inactivation have been reported following PEF treatment. Both electrochemical effects and Ohmic heating appear to contribute to the observed inactivation, although the relative contribution depends on a number of factors including the origin of the enzyme, the design of the PEF treatment chamber, the processing condition, and the composition of the medium.

Abstract:An efficient procedure for the synthesis of 7‐(aryl)‐8‐nitro‐2,3,6,7‐tetrahydroimidazo[1,2‐a]pyridinones, 8‐(aryl)‐9‐nitro‐3,4,7,8‐tetrahydropyridone[1,2‐a]pyrimidines and 9‐(aryl)‐10‐nitro‐2,3,4,5,8,9‐hexahydropyridone[1,2‐a]diazepine via one‐pot three component reaction of diamine, nitroketene dithioacetal (1,1‐bis(methylsulfanyl)‐2‐nitroethene), and coumarine‐3‐ carboxylic acid derivatives in EtOH under reflux conditions is reported. The advantages of this procedure are simplicity, easy purification, good yields, and catalyst‐free conditions. All products were confirmed by 1H‐ and 13C‐NMR, IR, MS, and X‐ray crystal structure analyses.

Abstract:Purpose To prepare 1-methyl-3-ethyl-3-(3-hydroxyphenyl)-hexahydro-1H-azepin hydrochloride (Ⅰ) from m-methoxyacetophenone. Methods 1-methyl-3-ethyl-3-(3-hydroxyphenyl)-hexahydro-1H-azepin hydrochloride(Ⅰ) was synthesized by eight steps with m-methoxyacetophenone as starting material.The eight steps were Willgerodt rearrangement,formation of acyl chloride,acylation,cyclization,C-ethylation,Wolff-Kishner-Huang reduction and reduction by Lithium aluminium hydride and salt formation. Results 1-methyl-3-ethyl-3-(3-hydroxyphenyl)-hexahydro-1H-azepin Hydrochloride(Ⅰ) was prepared in eight steps from cheap material and reagent on normal condition. Conclusions This method is applicable to industrial production.

Abstract:A new synthetic method of 8-chloro-10,11-dihydro-4-aza-5H-dibenzo[a,d]cyclohepten-5-one,an important intermediate of loratadine,was reported.Using 2-cyano-3-methylpyridine as the starting material,through radical reaction,Wittig-Horner reaction,hydrolysis,reduction and cyclization it was synthesized.The total yield was 20%.The chemical structure was confirmed by means of()~1H-NMR,MS and elementary analysis.

Abstract:A new efficient synthesis of polysubstituted benzo[d]pyrido[1′,2':1,2]imidazo[4,5-f][1,3]diazepines and pyrido[2′,1':2,3]imidazo[1,5-c]quinazolin-7-ium salts via sequential Groebke-Blackburn-Bienaymé/Staudinger/aza-Wittig/carbodiimide-mediated annulation has been developed. The three-component Groebke-Blackburn-Bienaymé reactions of 2-azidobenzaldehydes 1 , isocyanides 2 , and 2-aminopyridines 3 produced the azide intermediates 4 , which were treated sequentially with triphenylphosphine and isocyanates to give polysubstituted benzo[d]pyrido[1′,2':1,2]imidazo[4,5-f][1,3]diazepines and pyrido[2′,1':2,3]imidazo[1,5-c]quinazolin-7-ium chlorides in good yields.

Abstract:The reaction of 4,6-di- tert -butyl-3-(methoxymethyl)benzene-1,2-diol with 1-methyl-3-phenyl-1,3-dihydro-2 H -imidazol-2-one led to the formation of a new imidazocoumarin derivative. Structure and composition of the obtained compound was proven by NMR (1H, 13 C, 15 N, COSY, 1 H– 13 C HSQC, 1 H– 13 C HMBC, 1 H– 15 N HMBC, NOESY), X-ray diffraction and elemental analysis data.
