Problems in Transformation of Rural Labor Force in China and the Countermeasures

Abstract:Rural labor force transformation is an important approach in promoting agricultural development and economic development in the country and increasing peasants' income. At present, the rural labor forces have transformed in a large scale and have the characteristics that the amount increases, with the majority of young laborers and concentrating to the coastal areas. Many factors have restricted the process of rural labor forces transformation, such as the system of household registration, low quality of workforce and lack of protection of peasants' legitimate rights, etc.. On the consequence, it is necessary to take positive measures, to go along the new- type industrialization road, to accelerate the paces of urbanization and to promote the integration of labor market in rural and urban areas and the establishment of information service system. It is also important to increase the investment in education and training, to accelerate the rural labor forces transformation and improve the quality of the transformation.
