Determination of 4 components in Monascus Ganoderma Salvia Capsules by HPLC

Abstract:Objective To establish an HPLC method for the simultaneous determination of salvianic acid A ,protocatechualdehyde , salvianolic acid B and tanshinone Ⅱ A in Monascus Ganoderma Salvia Capsules and Salvia extract .Methods The HPLC separation was performed on an Agilent TC-C18 (250 mm × 4 .6 mm ,5 μm) column at 30 ℃ .The mobile phases consisted of methanol 2 mL · L -1 formic acid solution with gradient elution at a flow rate of 0 .6 mL · min-1 .The UV detection wavelength was 280 nm , and the injection volume was 20μL .Results In 1 g of the powder of Monascus Ganoderma Salvia Capsules ,the contents of salvian-ic acid A ,protocatechualdehyde ,salvianolic acid B and tanshinone Ⅱ A were 0 .4512 ,0 .119 ,1 .398 and 3 .789 mg ,respectively . Compared with the content of each component in the salvia miltiorrhiza extract ,the contents in the capsules were about a quarter . Conclusion The method was validated to be simple ,accurate ,selective ,and sensitive ,which can be used for the quality control of Monascus Ganoderma Salvia Capsules and Salvia miltiorrhiza extract .
