Abstract:According with urban economy's rapid development,there is a common characteristic appearing in many China cities which is speed of urbanization in these cities is growing faster and faster.Then,a number of historical culture cities are rethinking a question what is how to making their conservation more effective in progress of modernization in China.This article takes Hangzhou as an example,first,compares two different conservation methods between Hangzhou and Suzhou;then,finds reasons why Hangzhou cannot conserve its historical cultural resources effectively by using the old city rebuilding conservation method;after that,analyses relationship between economic development and urban space structure;finally,deduces conclusion that conservation of a old city must depends on developing of a new city.With contribution of leisure economy development,the historical cultural city-Hangzhou could achieve a wonderful consequence that is the old city feeds on itself.

Abstract:Using the explanatory variables of individual attributes,and commuting distance and land-use characteristics,this study develops a multinomial logistic model to examine the effects of the urban land-use and traffic-supply characteristics on travel pattern of shopping-mall based on a travel survey of 1 365 individuals from nine selected sub-districts of Hangzhou.The results show that,accessibility improvement and mixed land-use of commercial and residential land can encourage more walk and bicycle trips to shopping-mall;while the raise of transit service level encourages more non-motorized travels,but the factor of transit density itself cannot discourage car trips to Shopping-Mall.These findings suggest that people's shopping-mall travel behavior will be optimized towards achieving 'green pattern' by 'land use-traffic' measures,following an idea of incremental planning of urban spatial organization.

Abstract:Based on analysis of study of spatial structure of regional tourism at home and abroad, paper discusses and optimization of spatial structure of regional tourism system, taking Xi'an as an example. Firstly, the spatial structure model of Haggett and belt model of Gunn are evaluated, and spatial structure of tourism system is re-constructed, which composes of 6 elements including tourism destination region, tourism district, node, route, gateway and oriented market. Thus, evolution shapes and characteristics of in different stages are explained according to time order of tourism development. Secondly, it is proved by positive analysis that spatial structure of regional tourism system in Xi'an tourism district at present is at radiation stage, and with re-organization and optimization of its spatial structure and tourism routes, optimal and perfect in Xi' an tourism district should be extension model.

Abstract:Most of the cities in China have set the polycentric city as one of the most important planning objectives,thus driving the urban spatial structure development from single center to multi-center.Multi-center structure is projected onto various urban spatial factors such as population,industries,and infrastructures,thereby affecting the sustainable development of the city.In order to reveal the urban multi-center morphological characteristics and its temporal and spatial evolution,this study takes Hangzhou as an example to analyze the spatial structure of morphological elements at different temporal scales by using GIS spatial analysis and profile analysis from various perspectives,such as population density,land price level,transportation facilities layout and nighttime lighting intensity.The spatial pattern of Hangzhou shows the characteristics of "strong center and weak sub-centers";the spatial distributions of all center levels characterized as internally dense and externally sparse,and the development is highly uneven,displaying a strong heterogeneity;the development of sub-centers has a big gap with the target of planning,and the functional links between the sub-center and the main center and among the sub-centers are not strong.The formation multicenter structure mainly relies on planning guidance and government forces rather than the driving of market forces,which causes the current features of the polycentric structure in Hangzhou.

Abstract:The economic growth and urbanization development of Hangzhou have been accelerated significantly and considerably by China's rapid urbanization and industrialization after the economic reformation in the late 1980s.The spatialtemporal characteristics and spatial patterns of urban expansion in Hangzhou from 1991to 2010were studied,which characterized by its typical peculiarity of the south lower reaches of the Yangtze River with street-town(a sub-district or sub-county administrative unit)as the spatial unit for our investigation and with the methods of Construction Land Expansion Intensity,Spatial Autocorrelation Analysis,and with the data of the existing land use classification maps(1991,2000,2005)and TM/ETM+remote sensing images(1995,2010),etc.The results indicated that:(1)the urban area outspreaded fleetly,while the development level differed in various streets(towns).(2)the"hotspots"of urban expansion in Hangzhou was changed roughly in the way:north-west-multiorientationeast.(3)the expansion patterns of the whole city included:edged,infilling,spontaneous and linear axes,and they evolved with urban development in the way as follow:Edged-prevailing &infilling-subsidiary(center),spontaneous to form new center,infillding-prevailing &edged-subsidiary(center &subcenters),edged-prevailing &infillingsubsidiary(center &subcenters),moreover the linear axes generated along the transportation networks and existed in the whole process of urban expansion from 1991to 2010.

Abstract:Hangzhou is renowned as "Oriental Capital City of Leisure and of High Quality of Life",whose vigorous development of the tourism industry is backing strongly for the development of economical hotels.By surveying a variety of data about economical hotels in Hangzhou and using Geographic Information System,this article summarizes the spatial distribution characteristics of economical hotels in Hangzhou,analyzes the causation of the very spatial distribution characteristics from aspects of land-use classes,traffic conditions and supporting facilities,and makes some suggestions on strategies for the site selection and development of economical hotels in Hangzhou.

Abstract:Apart from being a residential place, the village in the scenic area is also part of the scenery.Consequently, it substantially differs from ordinary villages in spatial organization, economic structure, social relation, etc.By examining Longjing Village which is located in the West Lake Scenic Area in Hangzhou, this paper tends to analyze the evolution features in terms of land use, construction space, transport facilities, and social network.The paper also summarizes the contradictions between "village" and "scenery", and proposes the strategies that are aimed at the re-harmonization of "village" and "scenery", in the hope of facilitating the coordinated spatial development of the village and the West Lake Scenic Area and providing reference for the preservation and development of other residential communities in scenic areas.

Abstract:At a time when a major shift has occurred in urban development from commerce-oriented to university-oriented, the exploration of and study on the university's spatial distribution and land utilization model are of great significance. The paper attempts, through an analysis of current spatial distribution and land use of colleges and universities in Hangzhou with the methods of literature review and factor analysis, to generalize various factors contributing to the formation of their spatial distribution, and to access their spatial distribution and land use in terms of economic, social and ecological benefits. Through research, the author has reached the conclusion that the current spatial distribution and land use of universities in Hangzhou is fully compatible with the direction of urban development, and plays a positive role in promoting urban spatial and structural optimization, innovation and upgrading of Hangzhou's industries, talents cultivation and cultural building-up. However, it should be improved in resources sharing among high institutions of high learning and their interaction with local communities.

Abstract:High-speed rail (HSR) networks in China profoundly altered China's urban tourism spatial patterns. This paper examines the characteristics and evolution of spatial patterns of the urban hinterland before and after HSR network. Economic relation model and spatial analysis in ArcGIS were utilized on 338 national prefecture-level administrative units. The results show: (1) HSR strengthens tourism-based economic relationships between cities, and demonstrates a “corridor” effect of the spatial distribution of the change rates of tourism external economic relationships; (2) Center cities with larger tourism comprehensive scale are enhanced with expanding trans-province hinterland; the hinterland of central cities are enlarged, of which spatial linkages between the hinterlands are increased; (3) the competition and difference for the hinterland of central cities are intensified. Based on these, this paper proposes a tourism spatial structure with 19 urban agglomerations, 6 1st-class and 21 2nd -class tourist economic zones, and strategies for optimizing China's tourist space.

Abstract:Excellent tourism cities have significant meanings for national tourism economy.Spatial pattern of tourism development can be indicated by analyzing the distribution of Chinese excellent tourism cities.By calculating the nearest neighbor index,the spatial structures of excellent tourism cities were identified agglomerate.Based on further analysis,it was affirmed that distribution of excellent tourism cities was unequal in China.Distribution of different rank of cities was distinct.Most tourism metropolis were agglomerated in eastern China, however,small tourism cities in western China also had high quotient of location.The mechanism of conformation was examined.It was concluded that economic situation,urban system and tourism competition were the three dominant factors to such spatial structure.Finally,strategies were suggested according to different regions.

Abstract:The high-quality development of tourism has been paid more and more attention. Studying the spatial distribution pattern of high-level tourist attractions is beneficial to provide theoretical guidance for optimizing the allocation of tourism resources. This study takes the high-level tourist scenic spots in Zhejiang Province as the research object. Based on POI data and Python related technologies, using the kernel density analysis method and standard deviation ellipse analysis method in the GIS spatial analysis method, analyzing high-level tourist attraction's overall and various spatial distribution characteristics. The study found that the overall distribution of high-grade tourist attractions in Zhejiang Province is uneven, showing a pattern of agglomeration in the north and scattered in the south. And the distribution of various types of tourist attractions has its own characteristics. This study proposes relevant suggestions, in order to provide theoretical guidance for optimizing the spatial layout of scenic spots in Zhejiang Province and promoting the high-quality development of tourism.

Abstract:Tourism-oriented countryside is a development object that cannot be ignored in Chinese rural revitalization. As a special type of countryside, urban expansion and development have led to the gradual reduction of rural areas, which, in turn, has led to the deterioration of the spatial structure of tourism villages and the interdependence between villagers, merchants, and tourists. This has caused the loss of vitality of rural tourism spaces and the hollowing out of tourism villages. In our study, we used Space Syntax, based on population analysis, to research the three major populations of villagers, merchants, and tourists in tourism-oriented countryside. We optimized a total of four categories of rural space: street space, cultural space, landscape space, and public facilities. We found that spatial optimization improves the spatial layout, spatial accessibility, and spatial compounding of spaces. By constructing a model of harmonious development of the spatial structure of tourism villages with villagers, merchants, and tourists, the problem of hollowing out of tourism villages can be effectively solved. This will ease the contradictory relationship between urban development and rural revitalization, promoting the sustainable development of Chinese society, economy, and culture.
