Abstract:The performance of metal cutting tools directly affects the manufacturing efficiency and machining quality of products. With the increasing demands in manufacturing industry of cutting performance, machining efficiency, customization, and quick response, traditional tool design methods can no longer meet the above requirements due to many repetitive work, large amount of calculation, complex process, and low efficiency. Parametric design has become a new development direction of customized tool design because of its fast, stable, and accurate characteristics. Based on the parametric design of cutting tools, this paper develops a tool parametric design platform by using the method of secondary development of commercial CAD software. The platform realizes automatic operation in the background without commercial CAD software interface, completes the parametric modeling process of tools, generates 2D drawings and 3D models conforming to ISO 13399 standard, and realizes the cloud storage function of model data and the parametric design of many kinds of tools. Compare with that traditional modeling method, using this parametric modeling platform, the modeling efficiency is increased by 90% on average. This platform is of great significance to improve the design efficiency of complex customized tools and shorten the original design cycle by 30%.

Abstract:Pro/Toolkit is the most powerful secondary development tool in Pro/E.We can design convenient and useful interactive user interface using the UI dialog boxes and menu technologies,which can improve the system using efficiency.The paper introduces the method of parametric design and secondary development of Pro/Toolkit,and the steps of the secondary development.It uses the secondary development technology and that the object oriented programming language,gives an example of the parametric design of spinning head subassembly,and expatiates the achievement course of the parametric design of the machine part based on the Pro/Toolkit.

Abstract:Influenced by scaling?off cutting, to the mass produced rods and steel tube blank, the phenomena of burr and flashing are found. If the parts are processed by manual chamfering and lathe, it is tremendously labor intensive and low efficiency. To solve the problem, an efficient double?headed automatic chamfering machine was designed based on PLC control. The structural components of the chamfering machine were introduced , the gas?liquid control diagram and the electric control schematic figure including the flow chart of software programming were described in detail. The practices have proven productivity and end quality are improved greatly be?cause the chamfering machine can be used to realize double end continuous processing although loading once.

Abstract:Having analyzed 3D parameterized design technique, a produce-level parameterized variant design method was presented based on CAD system, parametric thinking and hierarchical table in database. A parameterized variant design system based on SolidEdge was developed with SolidEdge, Access database and VB, which was to be the realization of this method. The method and system are successfully used in the parameterized variant design of a plastic injection machine.

Abstract:The secondary development can realize the integration of commercial CAD and CAM/CAE software and has been widely used in the design of cutting tools. However, with the development of cutting tools design towards system integration, the integration effect cannot meet the needs of current tool design due to factors such as kernel and interface. Based on the independent semi open source modeling kernel Open CASCADE, this paper realizes the parametric design of solid end mills. The parametric design system of solid end mills is established by using Python as the underlying language and Python OCC. The system can generate data files, 2D drawings, and 3D models conforming to ISO 13399 standard and realize the cloud storage function of model data. The generated tool model data can be used for finite element simulation of cutting process, NC programming, and guiding tool manufacturing. Based on the established system, the centroid optimization of the imbalance characteristics of the variable pitch and variable helix end mill is carried out, which improves the dynamic balance of this type of cutter and provides an important reference value for the design of this type of cutter.

Abstract:The parametric model and the parametric drive mechanism of the mould board were established.The data share mechanism and calling mechanism between CAD and CAE programs were also discussed and implemented.An integrated design software-HTFXS1.0,based on the UG and ANSYS,was developed in the environment of VC++.Finally the module of parameterized CAD and the CAE programs were integrated,which was appiled to real mould board of HTF530 injection machine.

Abstract:Flange is a common part in engineering, and it is tedious to build the 3D models of flanges repeatedly. Nowadays 3D modeling softwares are widely used in many engineering fields such as mining machinery, transportation and petrochemical. In practical engineering, it is necessary to compute the reliability of a flange. For these reasons a reliability design system of flange was developed with VC and Protoolkit. In this system, we only need to input several parameters to build a flange model and to compute its reliability. Also it is easy to determine the key sizes of a flange with an appointed reliability. The application of the software shown that using the software can improve the work efficiency and decrease the labor intensity of designers.

Abstract:The parametric design and intelligent assembly system has been designed and developed of lubrication recycling station. The system contains two human-machine interfaces and one database. The user input the part parameters via the parametric design's interface, the system automatically generates the three-dimensional model and the three-view chart of the part and stored the data into the database. All parts parameters have been saved in the databases, the intelligent assembly sub-system break out the data will be assembled parts, and assemble these parts according to the relationship between assembly to generate assembly drawing. The lubrication recycling station as an example to be developed to achieve the parameters of the oil tank parametric design and intelligent assembly. Using of the system significantly improved the efficiency of product design and shorten the design cycle, reducing duplication of effort.

Abstract:3D modeling softwares are widely used in many engineering field such as mining machinery, aerospace, transportation and petrochemical. Bolt is a common part for engineering, but for some bolts it is still tedious to build the 3D models. To build the accurate 3D model of bolt is significant for finite element analysis and digital simulation. For this reason a design system was developed with VC and Protoolkit, the interface of it is the same as the platform. In order to improve the reliability and stabilization, the link of the software and platform is seamless. The application of the software shown that using the software can improve the work efficiency and decrease the labor intensity of designers.

Abstract:This system puts forward a new scheme of machine parts remote designing.VC++ is used to make the secondary development on Pro/E,and the developed program is encapsulated into a COM component,then Pro/E system is used to construct the parametric model,and the COM component is invoked with ASP technology to implement the remote parametric design.An example of the helical gear design is given to show the remote designing process of machine parts.

Abstract:In order to solve the problem that the modeling of winding machine spindle box of different types must be founded one by one which is extremely inefficient,in the study,which centered on main techniques of menu and dialog box designs,a method was developed to realize parametric modeling of winding machine spindle box driven by its dynamic parameters based on the secondary development tool Pro/TOOLKIT.By virtual of dynamic link library files and C/C++ programming techniques,a specialized module integrated with Pro/E4.0 was established,and an IGES file can be created automatically which could be imported into ANSYS for further analysis.The results show that the study finally realizes quick design and optimize design of spindle box with different types.
