Abstract:A new method for the measurement of the rotor angles and the phasors of power systems is proposed in this paper. Based on this method, the angle and phase measurement unit (APMU) has been developed. The rotor angles can be measured directly with speed signals of generators instead of being calculated with the power equations of the generator. Hence, the measurement precision of the rotor angle is improved. Based on the APMU and the Global Position System (GPS), a wide area measurement system (WAMS) has been constructed in the HeNan power grid (HNPG), China. The control center for the WAMS was also developed. The server in the control center collects the real-time data from all the APMUs, analyzes the operation state of the power network, records the dynamic responses of the power system under disturbances, and displays the information with the graphical user interface (GUI). The measurements were also applied in the detection of low frequency oscillation, on-line state estimation and parameter estimation of synchronous generators.

Abstract:To address power quality problems caused by a large number of non-linear load and the electrical equipment,this paper designs an electrical parameter measurement system based on DSP and LabVIEW.It puts forward a FFT(Fast Fourier Transform) and WT(Wavelet Transform) new detecting algorithm.This algorithm at first denoises by using wavelet transform,then finds out the maxima of the high-frequency coefficients of wavelet transform,and then calculates the duration and amplitude of the transient signal.Then it expands the transient signals time interval with the normal signal cycle.At last it makes the whole time FFT analysis,getting the harmonic amplitude,phase and frequency results.Tests show that the detection is of accuracy and feasibility.

Abstract:An approach for the design of a digital controller for single-phase Boost PFC is presented, which is performed by means of a standard DSP (TMS320LF2407). One main problem to implement digital control for power factor correction is the limited switching frequency due to the limited processor speed. An improved algorithm for PFC is proposed to overcome this problem. The main advantage of this method is that the CPU time requirement can be reduced, because the input voltage sampling, the output voltage sampling and most calculations can be accomplished in several switching cycles. Experimental results on a 500 W single-phase boost PFC converter show the effectiveness of the proposed solution, which demonstrate that the proposed strategy for PFC achieves unity input power factor with higher switching frequency than commonly used average current mode control.

Abstract:Based on the analysis of the theory of VAR compensation, the paper points out that the accurate measurement of power system factors is the base of accurate power factor compensation. However, traditional MCU can not complete the requirements of power system which demand accuracy and real-time. A dynamic VAR compensation installation with power monitoring is designed in the paper. The installation adopts TMS320LF2407 as main controller as it can compute and measure more quickly and accurately than traditional MCU. The system can measure the factors of power system. Based on the satisfaction of decreasing power factor, it can avoid the misoperation so that the serious accident could be avoided.

Abstract:The project has studied and designed a monitoring and management system for power quality.The designed system adopts the new architecture based on DSP+PC.Through researching the newly national power quality standard and analytic method for power quality,the relevant power quality algorithms containing FFT,wavelet transformation and IEC are simulated by the tool of MATLAB.The hardware platform takes the DSP of TMS320F2812 as core, besides,the technology of hardware PLL greatly reduces the spectrum leakage and fence effect.The monitoring terminal program is completed with development environment CCS3.3.The monitoring center interface is developed with Visual Basic, and receives communication data from the terminal unit through RS232 based on Modbus communication protocol.After debugging and experiment,the designed system is stable and reliable .The system runs well and the project has reached the expected design aims.

Abstract:In this paper,power quality of power grid is discussed refer to national standard,power quality specification and usual arithmetic are put forward.A real time on-line power quality monitoring system was designed,which based on industrial level controller ARM9.According to the designed system,128 synchronous samples was fulfilled per 20ms,FFT method was adopted to calculate the harmonic rate within 63th harmonic and the power quality specification.Interface of TCP/IP was also designed to make a web monitoring system of power quality.The testing results of the designed system show that the power quality on-line monitoring system has high performance.

Abstract:As many power quality indicators measuring methods are too complex to be used in practice,a method combining hardware detection for frequency with mixed radix fast Fourier transformation (FFT) was proposed,and this method is easy to use in the engineering and can measure the harmonics,voltage fluctuations and voltage flicker efficiently.Based on it,a digital power quality analysis system was designed by using ARM processor.And the experimental results verify that the system can measure the power quality indicators quickly and efficiently and can satisfy the requirement of IEC 61 000-4-30 standard.

Abstract:The frequency of the electric power signal is always fluctuating, which makes it difficult to exactly realize the synchronous sampling. And the leakage and picket fence effects of FFT will result in obvious measure errors. The advantages and disadvantages of different measures are analyzed with the software and hardware, and it demonstrates that the analysis accuracy of the signal and the creditable degree of the measurement parameters are further improved.

Abstract:This paper is dedicated to the research on the digital analysis system of the power quality which is greatly deteriorated by the development of power electronic technology and the widespread application of nonlinear loads. Researchers at home and abroad have done many studies on the measurement of the power quality indicators and have proposed many measuring methods which are too complex to be used in practice. This paper proposes a hardware detection method for frequency measurement and a digital harmonic analysis method based on mixed radix fast Fourier transform (FFT) for the measurement of harmonics, and adopts a frequency-domain analysis method based on mixed radix FFT to measure the fluctuations and flicker of voltage. Compared with other measuring methods, the measuring methods proposed in this paper are simpler and more reliable, and they have fewer complex mathematical calculations and a better real-time performance. Finally, a real-time digital power quality analysis system was designed and implemented in the laboratory by using ARM processor and mixed radix FFT algorithm. After that, we tested the system by using the relay protection tester, in the laboratory, and the experimental results showed that the power quality analysis system designed satisfied the requirement of IEC61000-4-30 standard.

Abstract:The new trend of power quality monitoring is introduced in detail. In the viewpoint of online monitoring, real-time analysis and networking and through a practical design example of Power Quality Monitor (PQM) for low voltage distribution network, a hardware platform solution for embedded real-time system based on Digital Signal Processing (DSP) is put forward. Comparing with existing designs, the proposed design can accord with the demands of the up-to-date requirement in power quality monitoring and has advantages in performance, computation volume and cost. So this design is suitable to the permanent monitoring devices which are to be installed on site in large quantity.

Abstract:It is necessary to perform real-time monitoring and analysis of the network for finding the interference sources to improve and supervise the power quality. The monitoring system based on conventional SCM can hardly satisfy the actual need for accuracy and speed. A new distributed monitoring system based on DSP chip-TMS320F206 is developed to monitor and analyze all outlets in a substation and to store historical data. In order to improve the measuring accuracy, the method of data synchronous processing is introduced in detail, such as noise pre-processing, digital anti-aliasing filtering and the software sampling method at a fixed frequency. High performance chips such as TMS320F206. MAX125 are used to meet the requirements of the device for hardware, greatly increasing the accuracy of the device. At the same time, two normalized factors capable of reflecting the degree of harmonic pollution and degree of asymmetrical pollution for an asymmetrical 3-phase system are added to quantitatively determine the pollution degree of the power system.

Abstract:Frequency is a very important characteristic quantity in power systems. Frequency measuring acts a very important role in power system measuring equipments. This paper presents a useful method for frequency measuring. This method is easy to be implemented with small calculation, high precision and a good real-time performance. The validity of this proposed method is verified through numerical simulation in the case of taking account of original phase, the bits of A/D and the sampling frequency. The results prove that this method has some practical value.

Abstract:Dielectric loss factor measurement is an important index in accessing the insulation performance of power equipment. With the development of the condition-based maintenance and smart grid, more attention has been paid to online diagnostic technologies for the dielectric loss factor measurement. Various methods have been developed in this field in which harmonic analysis (HA) is prevalent due to its performance of resisting disturbance and stability superior to others. When performing the HA method on the sampled data, the non-simultaneous sampling and the lack of synchronization between sampling rate and the signal period are believed to be the main source of error in the measurement of the magnitude and the phase of the signals. To improve the effectiveness of the HA method, measures were taken by means of the designing online monitoring system. The basic principle of the HA method is presented in this paper and an online monitoring system based on DSP technology is developed accordingly. At last, this paper analyses the on-line monitoring results resulted from the online monitoring system on a substation. To ensure the safe and reliable operation of a power system it is necessary to monitor periodically the insulation condition of HV apparatus. This may be accomplished through measuring partial discharge levels, dielectric loss factor and capacitance using conventional well-established time based maintenance method. To implement these routine tests require removal of equipment from service, however, the measure and continuous monitor may be carried out directly if on-line monitoring method is adopted. These on-line dielectric loss factor measuring methods detect the current flowing through the test object and the voltage signal applied to it. The various techniques reported in the literature differ from each other in the manner how the signals are acquired and how the gathered data are handled. Abstract:In order to adapt to the development requirements of internetized and intelligent quality monitoring devices,this article designed a network electrical energy quality monitoring device based on TMS320F28335 DSP,which can be used to online monitor the quality of three-phase power supply and distribution system.The function design,hardware design,software design and Modbus communication realization were given.The practical running results prove that the device can realize the functions of monitoring and analyzing quality indices,accomplish all the communication tasks in real time,and also gives both consideration to the performance and the cost.

Abstract:A development of a power quality measurement system established by using the combination of LabVIEW and HAN(Home Area Network) home energy management system is presented in this paper. The power quality measuring system can be combined with IEN(lntelligent Energy Network) energy system and HEC(Home Energy Controller) system, according to IEEE 1159.3[1] power management system specifications, and used smart-meter which is in line with SEP(Smart Energy Profile) to read home power consumption of home equipment. The nonlinear loads of home electric equipment such as computer power supply, inverter air conditioners, and inverter washing machines will generate harmonic waves. A large number of harmonics, inter-harmonic waves may cause transformer overheating, flashing lights, equipment heating, and communications interference. Filters and uninterruptible power systems (UPS) installations can reduce harmonics and inter-harmonic waves. This article will present a design of a power quality measurement system combined with IEN system and HEC system integration by using CompactRIO devices to retrieve real (Real-Time) electricity signals. After electricity signals capturing, the use of real-time fast Fourier analysis will be done to calculate the power quality related parameters (RMS, Frequency, THD, 1 ~ 20th Harmonics…) in accordance with IEC 61000-4-7[2] and IEC 61000–4–30[3] harmonic specification. The result provides information for managers to understand the current status of electricity.

Abstract:A method of hardware and software design of power quality monitor that used in low voltage distribution and a solution of using digital signal processor(DSP) as the core of hardware system and using real-time operation system(RTOS) as the platform of software were introduced.A prototype based on the fundamental monitoring functions was completed,it has the following functions: routine measure including voltage,current,power and so on,static harmonic analysis,voltage dip capture,etc.Besides,it has a beautiful and practical human-machine interaction based on menu operation.In the section of the experiment,measuring precision experiments and functional experiments have been done.The experiment results prove that the prototype has a good performance and reaches the expecting design requirements successfully.
