Abstract:The creating multi-function platform was extracted against the bottleneck of teaching reform for the structural-experiment. Based on the present status of structural-experiment dynamical teaching and the success experience obtained by other universities,combined with the characteristic of curriculum and the bottleneck of teaching reform,from the development of experimental device and experimental teaching organization,multi-function platform was presented. It is shown that instructional resource can be optimum allocated,instructional efficiency can be lifted,students' academic horizon have been widened and received good results.

Abstract:A networked structural laboratories system is established for shared use of laboratory facilities and improving testing capacity.The system consists of a network based communication platform and a series of remote collaborative pseudo-dynamic testing platforms.A simplified single-degree-of-freedom platform and a multi-degree-of-freedom testing platform are developed for simulating the seismic response of bridge structures.Both of the two testing platforms consist of four types of modules,namely control center,physical tester,virtual tester and observer.The control center organizes the testing procedure and handles numerical integrations.The physical tester and the virtual tester generate restoring forces of substructures by operating testing facilities and computing resources respectively.The observer monitors the testing process and shares the testing results without any interference of the test.A standard ActiveX control is utilized to provide transferring of control signals and feedback data between the physical tester and MTS Electro-hydraulic servo system.A series of virtual and physical hybrid tests of bridge structures under earthquake excitations were carried out.The results validate the reliability of the testing platforms.

Abstract:Based on the concept of networked structural laboratories,a platform for remote cooperative/interactive analysis and hybrid dynamic testing of SDOF structures was developed.It was composed of four parts,named control center,physical tester,virtual tester,and remote observer.The platform was capable of transferring control and feedback data among geographically distributed control centers,testers and observers connected by the Internet with a parallel communication protocol.Based on the platform,cooperative pseudo dynamic tests of CFT column under different levels of earthquake excitation were successfully carried out.The platform validates the theory of geographically distributed cooperative hybrid testing and can be updated for complex sub-structure pseudo dynamic testing.It enables the shared use of testing resources by integrating single structural laboratories into a powerful and networked laboratory with advanced capability.

Abstract:This paper presents a network platform developed for remote testing of scaled model or prototype structures and structural elements. The network platform, NetSLab, was developed based on the client/server concept along with a proposed data model and the communication protocols. The platform is capable of transferring the control and feedback data as well as signals among remotely located structural testing laboratories or computers connected by Internet. Several concepts were introduced to develop the platform and to provide relatively easy and friendly interface for applications and further enhancement. Trial and actual tests were successfully carried out at the Hunan University, China and the University of Southern California, USA. Models simulating bridge piers and piles or building substructures were subjected to recorded earthquake ground motions, and the tests were controlled remotely over the Internet using the platform.

Development Of A Remote Hybrid Testing Platform For Bridge Structures

Abstract:A distributed hybrid testing platform for remotely collaborative pseudo dynamic (hybrid) test of bridge structures has been developed in this paper. The platform consists of four types of modules, namely ControlCtr, PhysicalTester, VirtualTester, and Observer. ControlCtr organizes the testing procedure, coordinates data communication, and handles numerical integration of entire structure. PhysicalTester and VirtualTester generate restoring forces of substructures by operating testing facilities and computing resources respectively. Observer accepts testing results from ControlCtr and stores them in a database for publishing on web. The across middleboxes data transfer among geographically distributed laboratories is achieved by using the network based communication platform established by the authors for developing networked structural laboratories (NetSLab) system. A standard ActiveX control, developed in the structural laboratory of Hunan University, is utilized to transfer control signal and feedback data between PhysicalTester and NITS electro-hydraulic servo system. Using the testing platform, hybrid tests of bridge structures under different levels of earthquake excitations were carried out. The results show that the platform is feasible for seismic performance simulation of bridge structures in a remotely collaborative manner.

Abstract:Earth chamber,thrust device and simultaneous grouting device are designed,so as to study the research methods for the experimental device of simultaneous grouting test platform.A common design method for the earth chamber,thrust device and simultaneous grouting device is summarized on basis of related data in soil mechanics,hydraulic system and shield test platform,considering the conditions of the simultaneous grouting system and the external conditions of the shield machines.The conclusion drawn provides theoretical basis for the establishing of the simultaneous grouting test platform for shield machine in the future.
