Abstract:The research explored the relationship between Internet Addiction Disorder and undergraduates' well-being.The structural equation analysis revealed that negative life events,negative coping style and social support had direct and indirect effects on the undergraduates' well-being.Life events and negative coping style decrease the well-being of undergraduate internet addiction. And high degrees of social support can improve the well-being of undergraduate internet addiction.

Abstract:The aim of this study was to explore the evolution of the relationship between Internet use on psychological well-being from elementary school, middle school, to high schools. Randomized stratified sampling was used. Participants were 3, 185 teens in Kunming, a city located in southwest China. They were asked to complete a questionnaire on Internet Use and Well-Being Scale. The result indicated a relationship existed between Internet use and psychological well-being. Higher grade students used Internet earlier, spent more total time online per week, and scored lower psychological well-being. Students of middle and high school shared more similarity on Internet usage behavior and content preference of social and study services. Significant difference existed on loneliness and anxiety among elementary-, middle-, and high-schools. Compared with females, males significantly used the Internet earlier, more frequently, more for all Internet services, and scored higher psychological well-being. The difference between genders was also discussed. © 2011 IEEE.

Their high self-positioning makes their desire for success very strong. When faced with economic, academic, employment, emotional and other aspects of pressure, often due to improper handling of psychological problems. With the continuous development of psychology, “overall happiness” has gradually become an important comprehensive psychological index to measure people’s mental health. The intervention of mental health education can significantly improve the level of college students’ mental health and subjective well-being. The intervention of mental health education should become an important content and approach of college students’ mental health education.
Development of Concept of Internet-related Social-psychological Health for Undergraduates

Abstract:Objective: To explore the structure of concept of the Internet-related social-psychological health for undergraduates and develop The Internet-related Social-psychological Health Scale for Undergraduates (ISHS-CS). Methods: Employing exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis of the data of ISHS-CS.based on 2 samples of 511 and 581 of undergraduates respectively. Results: ① The structure of Internet-related social-psychological health for undergraduates consisted of 5 primary factors, viz. loneliness, social involvement, general depression, life happiness and life satisfaction. These five factors could be generalized into 2 higher-order dimensions, namely social health and psychological health. The ISHS-CS had satisfactory item validity, internal consistent reliability, construct validity and criterion-related validity. ② Relation of time of Internet use to Internet-related social-psychological health was unremarkable, but, some relation between frequency of internet use and social-psychological health was found. ③ Compared with the undergraduates based on Social-affective motive of Internet-use, those based on Information-acquisition motive possessed higher level of Internet-related social-psychological health. Conclusion: The concept of Internet-related social-psychological health was a reasonable construct for undergraduates, and the ISHS-CS could serve as a measurement of Internet-related social-psychological health for undergraduates.

Abstract:The Internet has gone deeply into nowadays college students' life, and has become an important platform for students to study, entertainment, and build social relationships. In this paper, we study the patterns of how college students use the Internet, and analyze the potential impacts of Internet on the living and education of college students. We find that 95% of college students spend more than two hours online per day. Academic and career development is the top motivation for college students to use the Internet. However, high percentage of the college students is not able to control their usage of the Internet well, which leading to recognition that the Internet is a negative factor that affects their course performance. The findings are helpful for educators to guide students to use Internet in a reasonable way and to find ways to make the Internet to be conducive to high quality of higher education.
Regional Internet Access and Mental Stress among University Students: A Representative Nationwide Study of China (Preprint)

Abstract:The Internet changed the lives of average citizens in the early part of the 21st century, and it has now become an essential part of daily life. Many studies reported that Internet use is positively correlated with psychological and mental problems, included depression, loneliness, and stress. However, previous studies examining Internet use and mental health were confined to local and community subpopulations and limited at the individual level, which increases the potential bias from selection effect at a different level. Regional variables would be a stable estimate of people’s socioeconomic and cultural environments and how these variables affect mental health needed to be studied. The objective of this study was to evaluate the association between regional Internet access, and mental stress among university students. Participants were 11,954 students, who were identified through a multistage survey sampling process conducted in 50 Chinese universities. Regional Internet access was retrieved from a national database, and mental stress was measured using the Perceived Stress Scale (Chinese Version) (CPSS). Both unadjusted and adjusted methods were considered in the analyses. More than one third 36.9% (95% CI: 24.4%–49.5%) of university students in this study suffered from severe mental stress (SMR). The full multilevel logistic regression model found that university students studied in low-level universities had 2.73 (95% C.I. 1.17 to 6.37) times the prevalence of SMR than that reference group. Compared with small cities, students in a large city had a lower prevalence of SMR (OR 0.24; 95%C.I. 0.07 to 0.78). Most importantly, regional Internet access was negatively associated with students’ SMR (OR 0.25; 95%C.I. 0.08 to 0.76). This study provided directive evidences that regional Internet access and other environmental factors including city size contribute to students’ mental health. The findings underscore that efforts to control excessive mental stress among students in China should pay greater attention to environmental determinants of stress and particularly to improve in internet access.

Abstract:The paper studies the problem of internet dependence behaviors of the undergraduates.By use of the questionnaire method and with 501 undergraduates randomly sampled as the study object,the psychological and influencing factors of the internet dependence behaviors of the undergraduates are dealt with and analyzed.By constructing a structural equation model(SEM),the mutual impacts between the internet dependence behaviors and the personality,family cultivating modes,responding manners,and psychological health are studied.It is pointed out that the main factors influencing the internet dependence behaviors of the undergraduates are the psychological health factor,psychological responding manner and the indirect impact of the family cultivating modes.However,the personality factor imposes indirect impact on the internet dependence behaviors as well.
The Impacts of Internet Knowledge on College Students' Intention to Continue to Use the Internet.

Abstract:Introduction. Examines the effect of Internet knowledge on college students' intention to continue using the Internet.Method. Students at four public institutions in Wuhan, China, were surveyed. They completed a questionnaire during the class hours.Analysis. Psychometric analysis was performed to assess the internal consistency, convergent and discriminant validity of the Internet knowledge construct. Path analysis was carried out with the structural equation program package EQS 6.1, to test the hypothesised causal paths among the constructs and the goodness of fit of the research model.Results. Internet knowledge is shown to be a reliable and valid construct, distinguished from Internet experience and Internet self-efficacy beliefs and has a significant effect on intention to continue to use the Internet.Conclusions. This study supplements the technology acceptance model with social learning theory and disentangles the relationships among Internet knowledge, experience and self-efficacy. The technology acceptance model is extended from a concern with adoption to continuous use of technology. The construct of Internet knowledge offers an opportunity to connect the technology acceptance model with knowledge gap and digital divide research, which are useful to inform future studies of technology acceptance.

Abstract:For college students, mental health is an important factor in ensuring their ability to study and have a normal life. This research focuses on factors affecting the mental health of college students in the information network society. We constructed a theoretical model that influences their online mental health information seeking behavior from internal and external perspectives, and by extension, affects their mental health. Through the data obtained by field research and questionnaire survey on the online mental health information seeking behavior of some college students in Internet health information platforms, a structural equation model is used to test the hypotheses. Results show that the quality of external Internet platforms and the quality of internal electronic health literacy have a significantly positive impact on the online health information searching behavior of college students; electronic health literacy and online mental health information seeking behavior have significantly direct positive effects on college students’ mental health. Further, online health information searching behavior has a significant mediating effect between Internet platform quality, electronic health literacy, and college students’ mental health. The research conclusions have theoretical value and practical significance to study the factors influencing college students’ mental health in the context of information network society.

Abstract:Abstract The traditional mental health education model has made it difficult to cope with the increasingly serious psychological problems of college students. In this paper, under the perspective of “Internet+”, based on the social network of college students, we constructed a propagation dynamics model of depression in colleges and universities and utilized the heterogeneous mean field to detect the propagation status of students’ depression. After calculating the comprehensive centrality degree of students with depression, the community mining of peer psychological adjustment is completed. The C-P similarity of students under the mental health perspective was defined by the ordering of the comprehensive centrality degree and the friend recommendation results were obtained by the distance measure of similarity. In the network of students without depressed mood, after a period of oscillation initially, the end state can be basically reached within 1000 steps, and the infected nodes reach 1000. When the depressed mood factor is small, such as S=0.02 and S=0.04, it has been able to prevent the transformation of depressed mood to the state of all 0, and the proportion occupied by positive and negative moods in the network is basically stable. Internet technology effectively improves the problem of identifying students with psychological abnormalities and implementing targeted mental health education.

Abstract:With the development of modern technology, a variety of values and social thoughts based on streaming media have caused a huge impact on the field of ideology and culture, and contemporary college students are deeply affected. Nowadays, college students are very prone to problems such as lack of empathy, distorted values, and weakening of life values. College students commit suicide, homicide, and other illegal and criminal incidents due to unhealthy psychological reasons. This paper abstracts the emotional cognitive ability of college students into a psychological resilience model and then analyzes it. It is concluded that the overall applicability of college students to emotional cognition education in the psychological classroom is not high. In order to change the overall low applicability of this situation, this paper pioneers the application of the Internet of Things (IoT) technology to the emotional cognitive education system of college students' psychological classrooms. Through the experiment, four results of the two psychological classroom models were obtained under different genders, different grades, different household registration types, and comprehensive conditions. The improved mode of combining the Internet of Things technology with emotional cognitive education can increase the applicability of college students to emotional cognitive education in the psychological classroom by about 6.97%. It helps to cultivate and educate the positive emotions of college students and promote the comprehensive and healthy development of college students.

Abstract:In this study, we examined the impact of college students’ mental health on their social behavior. A social network was identified based on the behavior of college students sharing a meal. We analyzed the impact of depression on the structure of this network and found that students without obvious depressive symptoms, based on the test data of the SCL-90 Assessment Scale, were better at socializing than students with obvious depressive symptoms. We proposed a public opinion spreading model on social networks and formulated a heterogeneous mean-field theory to describe it. Further, using computer simulation experiments, we studied the impact of students’ mental health on the process of information propagation in college. The results of the experiments showed that students without obvious depressive symptoms were more likely to receive information than students with obvious depressive symptoms. Based on the results of our study, college psychological consultants can actively identify students who may be at risk of mental illness and give them attention and guidance.

Abstract:College students are increasingly reporting common mental health issues like depression and anxiety, raising severe concerns for students' psychological wellbeing. Specifically, after the emergence of Post-COVID-19, digitization caused a potential role in mitigating students' psychological concerns. Therefore, the role of mental health education has been regarded as a topic of interest in managing the issue of Chinese college students' mental wellbeing. This study intends to look into the relationship between mental health education and psychological wellbeing, along with the moderating role of politically motivated internet addiction and the ideological passion of college students. For the given reason, the random sampling method was employed for collecting data from target respondents. The study uses 750 questionnaires prepared on a five-point Likert scale that were distributed to the respondents with an expected response rate of 50%. The partial least square (PLS) software was used to analyze the data for this study. The study concludes that there is a significant moderating role of politically motivated internet addiction and ideological passion in the relationship between college students' mental health and wellbeing. The study meaningfully contributes to the body of knowledge by establishing the unique, positive moderating role of Politically motivated internet addition in strengthening the relationship which undoubtedly will assist in improving the psychological wellbeing of college students through mental health education policies and implications.

Abstract:This study aims to address the mental health challenges brought about by the diversified development and rapid changes in society, with special attention to the psychological status of the student population. By using the SCL-90 mental health testing tool, collecting students' mental health data, and applying the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method to analyze and evaluate students' mental health and its influencing factors in depth, the study aims to provide more effective countermeasures for students' mental health education as well as targeted teaching assistance for teachers. This study combines the BP neural network prediction model, which is committed to improving the accurate prediction of students' mental health status. The results of the study will help to assess the mental health level of students, detect and intervene in psychological crises in a timely manner, provide schools with more comprehensive mental health management and services, and promote the overall healthy growth of students.

Abstract:A quantitative study was made to test the correlation between college students’Internet behaviour and self-evaluation through a questionnaire survey. The result shows that such correlation does exist. Exces-sive use of and reliance on the network has close relationship with students’self-denial, self-criticism, low self-identification, poor self-esteem and pessimism. Therefore, the improvement of college students’self-confidence and cultivation of students’positive self-evaluation can help to reduce college students’exces-sive use of and reliance on the Internet.

Abstract:Objectives: The digital transformation of the education system has been introduced in China. COVID-19 is largely responsible for this shift and adoption of digital learning. Many Chinese undergraduates face problems in using digital learning platforms for their education. The current research aimed to investigate the impact of mental health on the digital learning of undergraduates in China. Methods: I collected data from 799 Chinese undergraduates in different colleges and schools via a questionnaire. Results: Digital learning by Chinese undergraduates is possible when accompanied by mental health, parent support, technical training, and innovation adoption. Conclusions: The research has significance because of its novelty in the literature. The scope of this research is limited to cross-sectional data from selected undergraduate students in China. This research brings new theoretical knowledge to the literature. The limitations in the current research can be addressed in future studies.
