Abstract:A BOM description language DBDL(Dynamic Bill of Material Description Language) is presented to form the dynamic BOM for mass customized products.Application of dynamic BOM in integration of PDM and ERP systems in mass customized enterprise is described and some interfaces of developed system based on PDM are illustrated.The result from demonstration case shows that dynamic BOM can efficiently integrate the PDM and ERP systems in mass customized enterprise and promote the application level of enterprise information tools.

Based on them, an algorithm of combining EBOM with BOP was presented to generate MBOM with its conversion rules, steps and practical data.

Abstract:The system of BOM Editing management and Self-drawing in templates is presented to meet the need of data management and tabulation in enterprises. On the system the conception of BOM template is defined to increase product efficiency and the degree of enterprise standardization; the classified template is built for users to draw the BOM classified bill neatly according to the need of enterprises; and AutoCAD is developed by AutoLisp to finish the self-creating of BOM. The fact proves that this system possess characters such as advanced ideas, good stabilization, generalization and strong practicability etc and become an important part of enterprise information system.

Abstract:According to analyzing process how to drive BOM,a method of constructing unified BOM based on the process is proposed for solving the information island of the subsystems in the product life cycle and the limitation of transformation among BOM views. Dealing with special components and constructing unified BOM based on the process are studied after giving the process model's definition. Abstract:Bill of material (BOM) structures describe the component structure of a product. It is used and processed in the whole product lifecycle, and is the bridge for the product data integration among enterprise application. In the process of product development, product model is evolving and BOM is also changed. To keep the data among BOM views integrate, accurate and consistent, a general model of weighted diagraph of product BOM is developed. By establishing BOM structure model and defining the mapping rules of Virtual Component, Successive Component, Middle Component and Collaborative Component, an algorithm for BOM structure mapping is proposed based on single source of product data (SSPD). According to BOM multi-view mapping and SSPD, an integration model and application framework of the product design and the manufacturing process is given. Finally, a BOM management system named BomMan is provided, which indicates the validity and feasibility of this method. Thus, the reconfiguration from EBOM to MBOM could be realized.

Abstract:In the production management as well as in the information technology that supports it, automatically transforming engineering BOM(EBOM) into manufacturing BOM(MBOM) is the key problem of integrating product design system with production planning system. A method of quickly, accurately and automatically transforming EBOM into MBOM based on the bill of process(BOP) is developed. The strict formal definitions of EBOM, MBOM, BOP and the transformation rules of product structures, lead-times and process routines are presented. Based on those, an algorithm of automatically transforming EBOM into MBOM is proposed. Finally, a case from practice of this transformation method in an electric machinery manufacturing enterprise indicates its effectiveness and feasibility.

Abstract:Information exchange and mapping are difficult between BOMs which have different product structures and contents in manufacturing processes.To solve those problems,based on analyzing the relationship between the manufacturing process and product data′s changing,a process driven integrated information management system is brought forward.In order to manage process information,a process driven integrated information model and an information management framework are established.The key technologies including process driven integrated information model,data mapping between process information and BOM data are discussed in detail.The process driven product data management system was developed,and the feasibility of the present method is verified.

BOM multi-view mapping is the key factor of enterprise integration and is the difficult problem. XML has many advantages and is very fit to express BOM. With this method, BOM can be stored and passed between different systems and multi-view mapping is easy to be processed. Abstract:With the wide use of paperless production model,the management of numerous data of engineering drawings and BOM becomes an important research field.A system of engineering drawings and BOM management based on design environment is introduced.The system takes whole parts or whole products as dividing units and integrates them directly in CAD system based on database technology.It avoids the tedious management process of softwares such as PDM and PLM etc and it is more convenient for designer to use.The system takes engineering drawings as data bases and can generate BOM reports in several formats.The reliability and effectiveness of this system is verified in a practical application on enterprises production.

Abstract:The Bill of Materials (BOM) is the core data in the hierarchical production planning management of complex products. In the current competitive market environment and increasing demand for individual customization, complex product manufacturing enterprises are exploring methods that fully use common data and efficiently organize the BOM according to order requirements. However, due to the lack of a unified data modeling method for hierarchical production planning, BOM data at different levels cannot be interpenetrated. Moreover, the single-tree BOM lacks flexibility in describing the dynamic change process of data in different planning management stages (i.e., order receiving, variant design, and manufacturing execution). This paper proposes a BOM model transformation method for hierarchical production planning management to efficiently and accurately organize the data in different planning management stages of complex products. First, the Hierarchical Bill of Materials (HBOMs) model is constructed to integrate BOM data of different levels of planning. Subsequently, to describe the data requirements in HBOMs for different plan management stages, a composite HBOMs containing three types was designed. The Generic-HBOM (G-HBOM) aims to manage the common data of the same product type. The Instance-HBOM before-manufacturing (I-HBOM (BM)) and Instance-HBOM after-manufacturing (I-HBOM (AM)) manage the personality data of single product variant design and manufacturing execution stages, respectively. The transformation process models of HBOMs are constructed by analyzing the transformation logic between three types of HBOMs. To support the transformation process of HBOMs, five transformation operators are summarized, and the node traversal algorithm logic is proposed. Finally, a steam turbine generator product is taken as an example to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of this method. This method can effectively improve the efficiency of BOM construction and reduce data redundancy while helping to ensure the integrity, consistency, and accuracy of BOM data.

Abstract:Most of the engineering institutes have their own formats of BOM and some items in BOM contain nested sub-forms. These make the automatic generation of BOM much more difficult. On the basis of statistics, we summarized some common rules for most of the BOM structure. First of all, BOM is hierarchical. So the hierarchical-template-approach is proposed. Hierarchical-templates are used to describe the data source, filling rules, sorting rules, form composing rules, form structure, paging rules and page layout for BOM. Users can customize their own BOM-template to meet their own engineering needs. Since the nested sub-form has been into consideration, the hierarchical-template-approach suffices to process complex BOM formats. This approach has been successfully applied in plant steelwork design system of PDSOFT SteelWorks.

Abstract:To solve the problem which the BOM of the customization factory grows too fast, difficult to be managed, it proposes a automatic constitution method based on BI. This method improves the respond of the customers requirement and the accuracy of the BOM remarkably, selects modularized BOM based on product family data from MRP system, analyzes the customized input data with multiple regression analysis, generates BOM automatically. The application of the system shows that the method can improve the quick respond of the customers requirement and the management of BOM.

Abstract:In order to respond quickly to customer needs, this paper put forward an order-orientated BOM model. Firstly, the similarity matrix was built among customer orders and cases of parts and assemblies, and then the ideal components were obtained. Secondly, configurable products were retrieved from product database based on the main parameters. Finally, the products having maximum similarity to the demands of customers were acquired by using the utility function. The practical application of the model indicates that it can make the BOM quickly, and benefits the efficiency and quality of product design.

In the process of implementing, all aspects of the enterprise are involved in, and many factors can affect the data quality. Abstract:After careful study of Workshop Manufacturing Bill Of Material (WMBOM), function classifications of WMBOM were provided. And combined with fairly latest WMBOM data structure, the information model of WMBOM management system was discussed. Then, the information integration of WMBOM management system with other workshop production management systems was analyzed. Also, the multiform BOMs integration, including engineering BOM from Product Data Management (PDM), process BOM from Computer Aided Process Planning (CAPP), manufacturing BOM from Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP II)/Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), was studied. In the case, the component-based technique was selected to develop WMBOM management system and the component-based hierarchy software architecture for the system was established. Finally, the WMBOM management system was encapsulated as a large-grained component and could be directly assembled into other systems by the way of reuse-in-the-large. Running results in 3 enterprises showed that the integrated WMBOM management system was feasible, reusable, and could meet the specific requirements of an enterprise.

Abstract:To solve the problem of BOM management among mechanical product design, manufacturing and stock of correlative chains in the computer integrated manufacturing system, the characteristic and evolvement process of design BOM, manufacturing BOM and stock BOM was analyzed, and he data sharing and information integration were also studied. According to the structure characteristic of three kinds of BOM the mechanical product BOM management model was established, and the realization method of BOM management was given. Taking injection moulding machine for an example, its BOM management system was developed, and the fast conversation of the all kinds of BOM were realized, proving the correctness of management method and the practicability of BOM conversation technology.

Abstract:On the basis of statistic and analysis of the part and subassembly samples,it makes the product cycle time with time conception and the manufacture enterprises M-BOM combined,constructs the enterprise manufacture cycle time BOM named EM-BOM.Then the EM-BOM is unwrapped backward,and becomes an active on edges network without ring but direction,whose edges mean the parts or subassembly's manufacture activities.Based on the CPM it gets the statistic module of the product expectation cycle time,shows the statistic results by bill tree and list,which supplies some effective data support for shortening the product delivering process and improving the production management.

Abstract:BOM management is an important part of ERP system,which affects the running of the ERP system.Based on the normal recursive retrieval method and the level retrieval one,a new method is proposed.By introducing succession code,a single material contains all information of its ancestors,which converts the non-linear relationships of the normal methods,such as the stack as well as the queue,into linear relationships.So the ability and efficiency of BOM retrieval method are considerably improved.The results show that the new method is more efficient than the basic methods.
