Abstract:The stochastic bifurcation phenomena are investigated from the perspective of dynamic bifurcation on a stochastic Beddington–DeAngelis predator–prey model. And a critical value of the stochastic model is considered, which shows the species x(t) is persistent, however, the species y(t) goes to extinction. Under certain conditions, a necessary and sufficient condition for persistence and extinction is obtained. The main conclusions are verified by examples and numerical simulations.

Abstract:In this paper, a non-autonomous predator-prey patchy system with Bedding-type functional response and time delay is investigated. It is shown that the system is permanent under some appropriate conditions. By using Gaines and Mawhin's continuation theorem of coincidence degree theory, a set of easily verifiable sufficient conditions are obtained to guarantee the existence of positive periodic solutions of the system.

Abstract:Abstract Recently, ratio-dependent predator–prey systems have been regarded by some researchers as being more appropriate for predator–prey interactions where predation involves serious searching processes. Due to the fact that every population goes through some distinct life stages in real-life, one often introduces time delays in the variables being modelled. The presence of time delay often greatly complicates the analytical study of such models. In this paper, the qualitative behaviour of a class of ratio-dependent predator–prey systems with delay at the equilibrium in the interior of the first quadrant is studied. It is shown that the interior equilibrium cannot be absolutely stable and there exist non-trivial periodic solutions for the model. Moreover, by choosing delay $\tau$ as the bifurcation parameter we study the Hopf bifurcation and the stability of the periodic solutions. Abstract:Taking into account the impacts of the fear by predator, anti-predation response, refuge for prey, additional food supplement for predator and the delayed fear induced by the predator, we establish a delayed predator-prey model in this paper. We analyze the persistence and extinction of species and the existence and uniqueness of a coexistence fixed point. Particularly, we investigate the local asymptotic stability of the equilibrium by use of the characteristic equation theory of a variational matrix. Applying the Hopf bifurcation theorem, we investigate and obtain the bifurcation thresholds of the parameters of fear, refuge coefficient, the quality and quantity of additional food and the anti-predation delayed response produced by prey. Finally we give some examples to verify our theoretical findings and clarify the detailed influences of these parameters on the system dynamics. The main conclusions reveal that these parameters play an important role in the long-term behaviors of species and should be applied correctly to preserve the continuous development of species.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider a Holling type II predator–prey system with prey refuge, Allee effect, fear effect and time delay. The existence and stability of the equilibria of the system are investigated. Under the variation of the delay as a parameter, the system experiences a Hopf bifurcation at the positive equilibrium when the delay crosses some critical values. We also analyze the direction of Hopf bifurcation and the stability of bifurcating periodic solution by the center manifold theorem and normal form theory. We show that the influence of fear effect and Allee effect is negative, while the impact of the prey refuge is positive. In particular, the birth rate plays an important role in the stability of the equilibria. Examples with associated numerical simulations are provided to prove our main results.

Abstract:Journal of Biological Systems, Ahead of Print. In this paper, a predator–prey system with multiple anti-predator behaviors is developed and studied, where not only the prey may spread between patches but also the fear effect and counter-attack behavior of the prey are taken into account. First, the stability and existence of coexistence equilibria are presented. The unique positive equilibrium may be a saddle-node or a cusp of codimension 2. Then, various transversality conditions of bifurcations such as saddle-node bifurcation, transcritical bifurcation, Hopf bifurcation and Bogdanov–Takens bifurcation are obtained. Moreover, compared with a single strategy, the multiple anti-predator strategies are more beneficial to the persistence and the population density of prey.

The dynamics are studied in terms of the local stability of E-* and of the description of the Hopf bifurcation that is proven to exist as the delays cross some critical values. Abstract:This study aims to thoroughly investigate the dynamics of a predator–prey model with a Beddington-De Angelis functional response. We assume that the prey refuge is proportional to both species. We establish the standard properties of boundedness, permanence, and local stability. We show that under certain parameter conditions, transcritical bifurcation and Hopf bifurcation occur. To understand the nature of the limit cycle, we determine the direction of the Hopf bifurcation. We focus on the significant ranges of the predators' prey capturing rate and examine how the level of prey fear and the predator's mutual interference affect the system's stability. Through numerical analysis, we study the behavior of the Lyapunov exponent and observe multiple self-repeating shrimp-shaped patterns that indicate periodic attractors in discrete-time predator–prey system. These structures appear across a broad region associated with chaotic dynamics. Additionally, if the intensity of white noise is kept below a specific threshold, the deterministic control approach is equally effective in environmental fluctuation. Numerical simulations support these findings.

Abstract:In this paper, an age-structured predator–prey system with Beddington–DeAngelis (B–D) type functional response, prey refuge and harvesting is investigated, where the predator fertility function f ( a ) and the maturation function are assumed to be piecewise functions related to their maturation period . Firstly, we rewrite the original system as a non-densely defined abstract Cauchy problem and show the existence of solutions. In particular, we discuss the existence and uniqueness of a positive equilibrium of the system. Secondly, we consider the maturation period as a bifurcation parameter and show the existence of Hopf bifurcation at the positive equilibrium by applying the integrated semigroup theory and Hopf bifurcation theorem. Moreover, the direction of Hopf bifurcation and the stability of bifurcating periodic solutions are studied by applying the center manifold theorem and normal form theory. Finally, some numerical simulations are given to illustrate of the theoretical results and a brief discussion is presented.

Abstract:Abstract We revisit the persistence and stability property of a stage-structured prey–predator model with cannibalism and constant attacking rate. By using the differential inequality theory and Bendixson–Dulac criterion, we show that if the system without cannibalism is permanent, then the system with cannibalism is also permanent. By developing some new analysis technique, we obtain a new set of sufficient conditions which ensure the global asymptotic stability of the nonnegative equilibrium, which means that, under some suitable assumption, prey cannibalism has no influence on the stability property of the predator free equilibrium. Our results essentially improve the corresponding results of Limin Zhang and Chaofeng Zhang.

Abstract:This paper studies an impulsive nonautonomous two species predator-prey Lotka-Volterra type dispersal system in a patchy environment, in which the prey species can disperse among n different patches, but the predator species is confined to one patch and cannot disperse.
