Abstract:Choroidal melanoma is the most common primary intraocular malignancy in adults and often presents as a mushroom-shaped pigmented mass, although it can also be dome shaped, diffuse, and amelanotic.1 Affected patients are often asymptomatic but can experience painless decrease in vision and flashes of light. Although less common, patients with a choroidal melanoma can also present with a painful red eye, making it difficult to differentiate from nodular scleritis.
