Abstract:Aging has been a topic of primary interest to the medical community for a long time. This biological process is characterized by time-dependent progressive weakening of physiological functions accompanied by raised incidence of age-associated diseases. The basic cellular and biochemical features of aging remain unclear. Although various theories have been recommended to explain the process of aging, there is none that has been generally explained all the biological process of aging. Now generally theories demonstrated that aging and age-associated diseases are basically caused by free radical production, and suppressed expression and activity of SIRT1 and klotho [ [1] Zhang Y. Tang Z.H. Ren Z. Qu S.L. Liu M.H. Liu L.S. et al. Hydrogen sulfide, the next potent preventive and therapeutic agent in aging and age-associated diseases. Mol. Cell. Currently, most statins are on the market that – in addition to their cholesterol lowering characteristics – have been shown to interfere with cytokine- or oxidant-induced oxidative damage through its antioxidative effects [ [2] Miyamoto-Sasaki M.
