Abstract:A new secoiridoid named chinensisol (1) along with twenty known compounds were isolated from the 95% ethanol extract of Cortex fraxini. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of NMR, MS, IR and UV spectral evidences. The quinone reductase (QR) inducing activities of the compounds were evaluated and the results showed that compounds 1, 9 and 14 had moderate QR inducing activities with CD values (concentration required to double the specific activity of QR) of 72.4 ± 7.7, 34.3 ± 3.3 and 42.0 ± 0.4 μM respectively.

Abstract:Two new monoterpene alkaloid derivatives, incargutosines C (1) and D (2), together with a known compound, argutine A (3) have been isolated from the roots of Incarvillea arguta Royle. The structures of 1 and 2 were established on the basis of 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopic analysis, while the absolute configurations of 1 and 2 were determined by a synthetic method. In addition, the cytotoxicity of 3 was evaluated using four tumor cell lines, A549, LOVO, 6T-CEM, and MDA-MB-435 (MDA) by the MTT assay.

Abstract:Three unusual sesterterpenoids featuring unprecedented rearranged colquhounane (C25) and tetranorcolquhounane (C21) frameworks, colquhounoids E (1) and F (3) and norcolquhounoid F (2), were isolated from a Lamiaceae medicinal plant Colquhounia coccinea var. mollis. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic analysis and quantum chemical calculations. A biomimetic inspired regioselective cyclopropane cleavage was achieved under acidic conditions. The immunosuppressive activities of these new sesterterpenoids were also evaluated.

Abstract:A new phenylpropanoid ester, anthriscusin I (1), along with six known compounds (2–7) were isolated from the Anthriscus sylvestris (L.) Hoffm roots. The new compound structure was elucidated via spectroscopic analyses, while the known compounds were identified via comparison literature. Abstract:Twelve known compounds were isolated from the whole plant of Incarvillea delavayi.Based on MS and NMR analysis,these compounds were determined as tecomine(1),epidihydrotecomanine(2),2,6-dimethyl-6-hydroxy-2-heptene-4-one(3),marine B(4),(3R,5S)-3-methyl-cyclopentyl pyridine-5-ol(5),Ethyl 3,4,5-trimethoxybenzoate(6),cleroindicin B(7),3,4,5-trimethoxy-benzoic acid methyl ester(8),2-(4-ethoxy-phenyl)-ethanol(9),2,3-dihydro-benzofuran-6-ol(10),β-sitoserone(11) and β-acetyloleanolic acid(12).Among them,compounds 1-3,5-6,8-12 were isolated from the genus Incarvillea for the first time,and all compounds were isolated from the species for the first time.

Abstract:Argutalactone (1), a novel sesquiterpenoid lactone featuring an unprecedented 6/5/7 rigid skeleton, was isolated from the roots of Incarvillea arguta. The structure and relative configuration of 1 were established by extensive analysis of spectroscopic data. The absolute configuration of 1 was determined as 2R, 5S, 10R, 12S based on the analysis of biogenetical transformation, comparison of the optical rotation with literature data, and comparison of the experimental circular dichroism spectrum with the calculated electronic circular dichroism spectra.

Abstract:Objective To study the chemical constituents from Elsholtzia rugulosa.Methods The compounds were isolated by column chromatography on silica gel,Sephadex LH-20,and MCI-gel CHP-20P.The structures were identified by means of NMR and MS analyses.Results Twelve compounds were isolated and their structures were identified as 4′,5-dihydroxy-7-methoxyflavone(Ⅰ),5-hydroxy-4′,6,7-trimethoxyflavone(Ⅱ),5,6-dihydroxy-3′,4′,7,8-tetramethoxyflavone(Ⅲ),apigenin(Ⅳ),kaempferol(Ⅴ),quercetin(Ⅵ),1H-indole-3-carboxylic acid(Ⅶ),ursolic acid(Ⅷ),oleanolic acid(Ⅸ),ergosta-7-en-3β-ol(Ⅹ),β-sitosterol(Ⅺ),and β-daucosterol(ⅩⅡ).Conclusion Compounds Ⅰ-Ⅹ are obtained from the Plants of Elsholtzia Willd.for the first time.

Abstract:Objective To exploit the medicinal values of Scorzonera ruprechtiana Lipsch.et Krasch.through investigating its chemical constituents.Methods The herbs of Scorzonera ruprechtiana were extracted with 70% ethanol,the extractives were purified with macroporous resin and isolated with silica gel,and ODS column chromatography.NMR,UV,IR spectrometers were used to obtain spectroscopic data.Results According to the single spot in TLC,three flavonoid glycoside compounds and one sesquiterpenoid glycoside compound were isolated from the herbs of Scorzonera ruprechtiana,and their structures were identifited through physico-chemical constants and spectroscopic analysis.They were 5,7,3',4'-tetrahydroxy-flavone 8-C-β-D-glucopyranoside (Ⅰ);5,7,3',4'-tetrahydroxy-flavone 6-C-β-D-glucopyranoside (Ⅱ);5,7,4'-trihydroxy-flavone 6-C-β-D-xylofuranosyl-(1→2)-β-D-glucopyranoside (Ⅲ);3-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-3-hydroxy-1α,5α,7α H-guaia-4(15),10(14),11(13)-trien-12,6α-olide (Ⅳ).Conclusion Three flavonoid glycoside compounds and one sesquiterpenoid glycoside compound are isolated,and the flavonoid glycosides are isolated from Scorzonera ruprechtiana Lipsch.et Krasch.and also from Scorzonera genus plants for the first time.

Abstract:The present study is to investigate the chemical constituents of the whole plants of Selaginella uncinata. A new flavonoid was isolated from the 75% ethanol extract of Selaginella uncinata by column chromatographies over macroporous resin, silica gel, Sephadex LH-20 and prep-HPLC. The structure was elucidated as 8-[4-(carboxyl)phenoxy]-5,4'-dihydroxy-7-methoxyflavanone (1) and named unciflacone G.

Abstract:Objective To study the chemical constituents of the aerial parts of Argyreia seguinii.Methods Compounds were isolated by Sephadex LH-20 and silica gel column chromatographies,and their structures were identified by spectral methods together with physiochemical analysis.Results Eleven known compounds were isolated from the aerial parts of A.seguinii.They were identified as β-sitosterol(Ⅰ),stigmasterol(Ⅱ),daucosterin(Ⅲ),scopoletin(Ⅳ),salicylic acid(Ⅴ),3,4-dihydroxy benzaldehyde(Ⅵ),Ntrans-p-hydroxyphenethyl coumaramine(Ⅶ),Ntrans-p-hydroxyphenethyl ferolamine(Ⅷ),3,5-di-O-caffeoylquinic acid methyl ester(Ⅸ),3,4-di-O-caffeoylquinic acid methyl ester(Ⅹ),and 4,5-di-O-caffeoylquinic acid methyl ester(Ⅺ).Conclusion Compounds Ⅰ-Ⅺ are isolated from this plant for the first time.

Abstract:AIM: To investigate the chemical constituents of the leaves and twigs of Securinega suffruticosa (Pall.) Rehd. METHOD: Column chromatographic methods were used to separate the chemical constituents whose structures were elucidated by means of physicochemical properties and spectral analysis. RESULT: Eleven compounds were isolated and identified as (-)-15β-ethoxy-14,15- dihydroviroallosecurinine (1), securinine (2), 14,15-dihydrosecurinine (3), 4-epiphyllanthine (4), securitinine (5), viroallosecurinine (6), securinol A (7), secu'amamine A (8), ent-phyllanthidine (9), (+)-aquilegiolide (10) and (+)-menisdaurilide (11), respectively. CONCLUSION: Compound 1 is a novel compound. Compounds 4, 8, 10 and 11 were isolated from Securinega suffruticosa for the first time.

Abstract:An enantioselective, concise total synthesis of (−)-incarvilline and (−)-incarvillateine has been achieved in longest linear 9 steps (24.3% overall yield) and in 11 steps (16.5% overall yield) from (−)-carvone, respectively. The present synthesis features a notable Favorskii rearrangement of the O-protected chlorohydrin derivative of (−)-carvone to construct four of the five contiguous stereocenters on the bicyclic piperidine moiety and DMAP-catalyzed esterification of incarvilline with α-truxillic acid anhydride to generate incarvillateine skeleton.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE:To study the chemical constituents from Serissa serissoides DC. roots. METHODS:Seven compounds were obtained from the 80% ethanol extract of Serissa serissoides roots by repeated column chromatography over silica gel, Sephadex LH-20 and Polyamide. Their structures were identified by analysis of their spectral data and physics character. RESULTS:Seven compounds obtained from the plant leaves were identified as: (+)-pinoresinol(1), (-)-syringaresinol( 2), (+)-meduiresinol(3), (-)-olivil(4), beta-sitosterol(5), oleanolic acid(6) and daucosterol(7). CONCLUSION:They are all known compounds. Compound 2 and 4 was obtained from this genus plants for the first time, and compounds 1,3 and 7 as known compounds were obtained from the root of the plant firstly.

This is the first report of compounds 5–8 from Aruncus sylvester.
