Abstract:A new species of the genus Nilothauma Kieffer, N. pandum sp. n., is described, and its morphological descriptions and illustrations are also given. A key to the males of Nilothauma is given. The adult male of N. pandum sp. n. can be distinguished from known species of the genus by the following combination of characters: anal point very broadly lanceolate with microtrichia in median ridge and apical margin, rounded at apex; superior volsella pad-like, expanded distally; median volsella curved, rounded at apex, with 2 long basal setae and 1 long median seta.

Abstract:The genus Dedalopterus Sabatinelli & Pontuale, 1998 from Laos and Vietnam is reviewed: three species are present of which Dedalopterus lexuanhuei Pham, Ahrens & Sabatinelli , new species from Central Vietnam (Ngoc Linh Mts., Annamite Range) is here described. Dedalopterus malyszi Bunalski, 2001 is present in North Vietnam (Lao Cai, Hoang Lien Son Range), and Dedalopterus pulchellus Sabatinelli & Pontuale, 1998 (= D. bezdekorum Zídek & Krajčík, 2007, new synonymy) is known from Northeast Laos (Mt. Xiangkhouang and Mt. Phou Pan). Additional records, an updated checklist, and an identification key of the genus Dedalopterus are provided. All species treated are abundantly illustrated.

Abstract:Palpostilpnus Aubert, 1961 is a genus of the subfamily Phygadeuontinae (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae) with 17 currently recognized species from the Oriental and Australasian regions. In this paper, this genus is reported for the first time from Vietnam. Eight new species are described, comprising: P. cattienensis , P. hoanglienensis , P. incompletus , P. melanothoracicus , P. melinhensis , P. meovacensis , P. ngoclinhensis and P. taynguyenensis. Three species, P. maculata Sheng & Sun, 2013, P. pterodactylus Reshchikov, Santos, Liu, Barthélémy, 2019 and P. tamasek Reshchikov, Santos, Liu, Barthélémy, 2019 are recorded as new from the country. The key to the world species of Palpostilpnus by Reshchikov et al . (2019) is modified to include eight new species from Vietnam.

Abstract:The genus Sycanus Amyot & Serville, 1843 includes seventy-two valid species distributed in African and Asian regions. Among those species, eight of them, Sycanus atrocoeruleus Signoret, 1862, S. bifidus (Fabricius, 1787), S. croceus Hsiao, 1979, S. falleni Stål, 1863, S. minor Hsiao, 1979, S. rubricatus Stål, 1874, S. sichuanensis Hsiao, 1979, and S. ventralis Distant, 1919, were described and recorded in Vietnam. In this study, we examined species of Sycanus collected from Vietnam based on external morphology, male genital morphology, and molecular phylogenetic analyses inferred from mitochondrial COI sequences. Consequently, two new species, Sycanus thuathienhuensis sp. nov. and Sycanus taynguyenensis sp. nov., were discovered, described, and illustrated here.

Abstract:Abstract In this study, Poinarelektronmiles Fanti & Damgaard, 2020 is considered as a junior synonym of Burmomiles Fanti, Damgaard & Ellenberger, 2018, since no generic diagnostic differences can be found in their type species except for the elytral length, which is a yet unstable and more ecology-related character. The two hitherto known species of Poinarelektronmiles are transferred to Burmomiles or Sanaungulus Fanti, Damgaard & Ellenberger, 2018, including B. ellenbergeri (Fanti & Damgaard, 2020) comb. nov. and S. cuaroni (Bramanti & Fanti, 2022) comb. nov. Meanwhile, B. dominikiweissbachi (Fanti & Müller, 2022) comb. nov., B. kachinensis (Fanti & Müller, 2022) comb. nov. and B . lethi (Fanti & Damgaard, 2020) comb. nov. are transferred from Sanaungulus . Six Sanaungulus species are suggested to be placed in Cantharidae incertae sedis , including S. electrum Fanti & Müller, 2022, S. franziskaeweissbachae Fanti & Müller, 2022, S. nalae Fanti & Müller, 2022, S. morellii Fanti & Damgaard, 2020, S. rosenzweigi Fanti & Damgaard, 2020 and S. ruicheni (Hsiao & Huang, 2018), due to their absence of antennal appendages in males. The gender identity for S. kirstenaeweissbachae Fanti & Müller, 2022 and S. cuaroni originally defined as females are corrected into males, according to their pectinate antennae. Additionally, four new species, S. marginalis sp. nov., S. longicornis sp. nov., S. elongaticollis sp. nov., and S. undecimus sp. nov., are described and illustrated. These results will significantly complement and expand our knowledge on the Burmite cantharid diversity.

Abstract:Two species groups of the genus Ichthyurus Westwood, 1848 in the Oriental Region are proposed based on the anatomical comparison. One is the I. vandepolli species group, which is composed of two species, namely I. vandepolli Gestro, 1892 and I. opacus Gestro, 1906 (newly recorded to China). The other is the I. bourgeoisi species group, consisting of four species, including I. bourgeoisi Gestro, 1892, I. savioi Pic, 1928, I. niger sp. nov. (Vietnam, Vinh Phue) and I. bilineatimimus sp. nov. (China, Yunnan). The above species are illustrated with habitus and genital segments of both sexes, prothoracic leg and aedeagus of the male and internal genitalia of the female. A key for identification and distribution maps of these species are provided.

Abstract:Two new species of the genus Taipodisma Yin et al, 2014 from Taiwan, China are described in this paper. The new species Taipodisma viriditibia sp. nov. is similar to Taipodisma hsiehi Yin et al., 2014, it differs from the latter by antennae longer, length of a middle segment 4.0 times its width; interspace of mesosternum longer in male, the length 2.0 times the narrowest; lateral lobes of metasternum slightly separated in male; epiproct of male with longitudinal sulcus at base only and length of subgenital plate of female longer than width. The new species Taipodisma kaohsiungensis sp. nov. is similar to Taipodisma nigritibia Yin et al., 2014, it differs from the latter by prozona of pronotum 1.2 times metazona; length of interspace as long as the narrowest in mesosternum of male; hind tibia yellowish green on lower side and length of subgenital plate longer than width in female. The type specimens are deposited in the National Museum of Natural Science, Taichung, Taiwan, China and the Institute of Entomology, Taiwan University, Taibei, Taiwan, China, respectively.

Abstract:The family Hippoboscidae, commonly known as "louse flies," comprises pupiparous Diptera that are ectoparasites of birds and mammals, with significant impacts on their hosts and epidemiological importance. The louse fly fauna of Vietnam is relatively understudied compared to other countries in the Southeast Asia region. In this study, we describe a new species of the genus Icosta Speiser, 1905 (Diptera: Hippoboscidae), Icosta korzuni sp. n. , collected from the lesser coucal Centropus bengalensis (Gmelin, JF, 1788) in Cat Tien National Park, Vietnam. This new species is distinguished from other Icosta species by the morphology of laterite 3, wing length, arrangement of wing microtrichia, body coloration, and its geographical distribution. Additionally, we provide an updated key to the subgenus Icosta Speiser, 1905.

Abstract:Four species of the genus Zhengitettix Liang, 1994 from Thailand are listed. A new distribution of Z. albitarsus Storozhenko, 2013 is reported from Ratchaburi Province in the Tenasserim Range with a coloration description of live specimens. Z. binduseni sp. nov. is described from Ratchaburi Province, Thailand. This new species is easily distinguished from other member in this genus by the larger body size, the fastigium of vertex between eyes distinctly narrower toward end, the slender and long spines of lower part of lateral lobe of pronotum which slightly upward in male, and almost straight in female, and the shaped of female subgenital plate with shallow transversal creases. The updated key to all species occurring in Thailand is provided here.

Abstract:In this paper, four species of Omphale Haliday, O. longigena Li & Li, sp. nov. , O. longitarsus Li & Li, sp. nov. , O. rectisulcus Li & Li, sp. nov. , and O. xanthosoma Li & Li, sp. nov. , are described as new to science; four species, O. brevibuccata Szelényi, O. connectens Graham, O. melina Yefremova & Kriskovich, and O. obscura (Förster) are reported from China for the first time; and the male of O. melina is reported for the first time in the world. Abstract:Two new species i.e.: Humphaplotropis xiai sp. nov. and Humphaplotropis hebeiensis sp. nov. of the genus Humphaplotropis Xiao, Yin et Yin, 2013, are described from Hebei and Jiangsu, China in this paper. The new species Humphaplotropis xiai sp. nov. differs all known species of the genus by the abdomen like sawtooth in lateral view. The new species Humphaplotropis hebeiensis sp. nov. is similar to Humphaplotropis culaishanensis Lin, Cao et Yin, 2014, but differs from the latter by: lateral carinae of frontal ridge parallel; anterior margin of pronotum with acute angular in the middle, the apex reaching the hind margin of eyes; tegmina wider, cover 4/5 tympanum. Hind tibia yellow brown on upper side; epiphallus with 44 spikes, ancorae oblique inward distinctly, both posterior projections shorter than median projection. Type specimens are deposited in the Shanghai Entomological Museum, C.A.S., Shanghai and Natural Museum of Hebei University, Baoding, Hebei China respectively.
