Abstract:Objective To study the chemical constituents from leaves of Phyllostachys pubescens. Method Column chromatography on sephadex LH-20 as well as preparative HPLC and spectral analysis were used to isolate and elucidate the constituents. Result Six compounds were isolated from leaves of Phyllostachys pubescens, and identified as vanillin (I), syringic aldehyde (II), p-hydroxybenzaldehyde (III), vanillic acid (IV), syringic acid (V), 4-hydroxy-3-methoxy cinnamic acid, ethyl ester (VI). Conclusion All above the compounds were isolated from the plant for the first time.

Abstract:Objective To study the chemical constituents of Acanthopanax senticosus.Methods A.senticosus was extracted with 75% EtOH and separated with petroleum ether and EtOAc,successively.The EtOAc-soluble fraction was isolated by column chromatography and RP-preparative HPLC.Their structures were identified by spectroscopic method(MS,1H-NMR,and 13C-NMR).Results Nineteen compounds were isolated from the EtOAc fraction of A.senticosus and identified as quercetin(1),quercitrin(2),kaempferol(3),hyperoside(4),rutin(5),acacetin(6),daidzin(7),3′-methoxydaidzin(8),puerarin(9),3′-methoxypuerarin(10),4′-methoxypuerarin(11),syringaldehyde(12),syringic acid(13),glucosyringic acid(14),isofraxidin(15),2,3-di(3′,4′-methyl-endioxy-benzyl)-2-buten-4-olide(16),l-sesamin(17),methylpluviatolide(18),and 4′-hydroxy-2′-methoxycinnamaldehyde(19).Conclusion Compounds 6—11,14,16,18,and 19 are isolated from the plants in Acanthopanax(Deche et Planch.) Miq.for the first time.

Abstract:Aim To study the chemical constituents from the stems of Xylosma controversum Clos. Methods The constituents were isolated by solvent extraction, repeated chromatography with silica gel, Sephadex LH-20, and RP-18 columns. The structures were elucidated by spectral analysis. Results Thirteen compounds were isolated and their structures were identified as (-)-syringaresinol (1), syringaresinol-4-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (2), syringaresinol-4,4'-bis-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (3), (±)-catechin (4), catechin-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (5), catechin-5-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (6), 1,3-bis-(4-hydroxy-3,5-dimethoxyphenyl)-1,3-propanediol (7),(R)-(+)-chaulmoogric acid (8), friedelin (9), uracile (10), benzoic acid (11), vanillic acid (12), and 4-hydroxybenzoic acid (13). Conclusion All the compounds described above were isolated from this genus for the first time.

Abstract:Spatholobus sinensis is a plant of the Spatholobus genus (Leguminosae family). Its caulis are used as ji-xue-teng regionally. However, to our knowledge, no phytochemical investigation on S. sinensis has been reported to date. In this study, eight compounds were isolated from the ethanol extract of the caulis of S. sinensis, by solvents extraction and column chromatography methods. By analysis of their physic-chemical constants and spectral data, the structures of 8 compounds were identified as spatholosineside A (1), 2',4',5,7-tetrahydroxyisoflavone (2), isoliquiritigenin (3), lupinalbin A (4), coumestrol (5), naringenin (6), protocatechuic acid (7), leonuriside A (8). Compound 1 is a new compound.

Abstract:Objective To study the chemical constituents from Elsholtzia rugulosa.Methods The compounds were isolated by column chromatography on silica gel,Sephadex LH-20,and MCI-gel CHP-20P.The structures were identified by means of NMR and MS analyses.Results Twelve compounds were isolated and their structures were identified as 4′,5-dihydroxy-7-methoxyflavone(Ⅰ),5-hydroxy-4′,6,7-trimethoxyflavone(Ⅱ),5,6-dihydroxy-3′,4′,7,8-tetramethoxyflavone(Ⅲ),apigenin(Ⅳ),kaempferol(Ⅴ),quercetin(Ⅵ),1H-indole-3-carboxylic acid(Ⅶ),ursolic acid(Ⅷ),oleanolic acid(Ⅸ),ergosta-7-en-3β-ol(Ⅹ),β-sitosterol(Ⅺ),and β-daucosterol(ⅩⅡ).Conclusion Compounds Ⅰ-Ⅹ are obtained from the Plants of Elsholtzia Willd.for the first time.

Abstract:Objective: To investigate the chemical constituents from Xanthium mongolicum. Methods: The constituents were isolated and purified by silicagel,Sephadex LH-20 column chromatography. Their structures were identified on the basis of spectral data and physiochemical characteristics. Results: Ten compounds were isolated and identified as hexadecanoic acid( 1), methyl 3, 4-dihydroxybenzoate ( 2), protocatechuic aldehyde( 3), caffeic acid methyl ester( 4), vanillic acid( 5), 4-hydroxybenzoic acid( 6), caffeic acid ethyl ester( 7), chlorogenic acid( 8), caffeic acid( 9), 3, 4-di-O-caffeoylquinic acid( 10). Conclusion: Compounds 1 ~ 5,7 and 10 are isolated from this plant for the first time.

Abstract:Thirty-six naturally occurring compounds, including four C10-acetylenic glycosides and a lignan, were isolated from the whole plants of Saussurea cordifolia. Their structures were elucidated by means of spectroscopic and chemical methods to be 4,6-decadiyne-1-O-β-d-apiofuranosyl-(1→6)-β-d-glucopyranoside (1), 4,6-decadiyne-1-O-α-l-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→6)-β-d-glucopyranoside (2), (8E)-decaene-4, 6-diyn-1-O-α-l-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→6)-β-d-glucopyranoside (3), (8Z)-decaene-4,6-diyn-1-O-β-d-apiofuranosyl-(1→6)-β-d-glucopyranoside (4), and (2R,3S,4S)-4-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzyl)-2-(5-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-3-(hydroxymethyl)-tetrahydrofuran-3-ol (5).

Abstract:Objective: To investigate the chemical constituents of Jasminum elongatum. Methods: The chemical constituents were isolated and purified by various column chromatographic methods and preparative HPLC. Their structures were identified by physicochemical properties and spectral analysis. Results: Nine compounds were isolated from the methanol extract of Jasminum elongatum and identified as protocatechuic acid( 1),caffeic acid( 2),salicylic acid( 3),isovanillic acid( 4),ferulic acid( 5),methyl caffeate( 6),caffein( 7),3,6-diisopropylpiperazin-2,5-dione( 8),scopoletin( 9). Conclusion: All the compounds are isolated from the this plants for the first time.
