Abstract:Combining three mechanisms, we reanalysis processes of $B \to \eta^{\prime} K(K^*),\eta K(K^*)$ and calculate their branching ratios. The results are compared with other mechanisms in the literature. The striking feature of the gluon fusion mechanism is emphasized and its experimental test is discussed.

Abstract:In the framework of QCD factorization, we study $B^{ + (0)} \to \eta' K^{ + (0)}$ decays. In order to more reliably determine the phenomenological parameters X H and X A arising from end-point divergences in the hard spectator scattering and weak annihilation contributions, we use the global analysis for twelve $B \to PP$ and VP decay modes, such as $B \to \pi \pi$, $\pi K$, $\rho \pi$, $\rho K$, et cetera, but excluding the modes whose (dominant) internal quark-level process is $b \to s \bar s s$. Based on the global analysis, we critically investigate possible magnitudes of X H,A and find that both large and small X H,A terms are allowed by the global fit. In the case of the large X H,A effects, the standard model (SM) prediction of the branching ratios (BRs) for $B^{ + (0)} \to \eta' K^{ + (0)}$ is large and well consistent with the experimental results. In contrast, in the case of the small X H,A effects, the SM prediction for these BRs is smaller than the experimental data. Motivated by the recent Belle measurement of $\sin (2\phi_1)$ through $B^0 \to \phi K_s$, if we take into account possible new physics effects on the quark-level process $b \to s \bar s s$, we can explicitly show that these large BRs can be understood even in the small X H,A case. Specifically, we present two new physics scenarios: R-parity violating SUSY and R-parity conserving SUSY.

Abstract:We study the rare B decay B -> K(*)l(+)l(-) using soft-collinear effective theory (SCET). At leading power in 1/m(b), a factorization formula is obtained valid to all orders in alpha(s). For phenomenological application, we calculate the decay amplitude including order alpha(s) corrections, and resum the logarithms by evolving the matching coefficients from the hard scale O(m(b)) down to the scale root m(b)Lambda(h). The branching ratio for B -> K-* l(+)l(-) is uncertain due to the imprecise knowledge of the soft form factors zeta perpendicular to (q(2)) and zeta parallel to (q(2)). Constraining the soft form factor zeta perpendicular to(q(2)=0) from data on B -> K-*gamma yields zeta perpendicular to(q(2)=0)=0.32 +/- 0.02. Using this input, together with the light-cone sum rules to determine the q(2) -dependence of zeta perpendicular to(q(2)) and the other soft form factor zeta parallel to(q(2)), we estimate the partially integrated branching ratio in the range 1 GeV2 <= q(2) <= 7 GeV2 to be (2.92 +0.67 -0.61) x 10(-7). We discuss how to reduce the form factor related uncertainty by combining data on B -> p(->pi pi)lv(l) and B -> K-* (-> K pi)l(+)l(-). The forward-backward asymmetry is less sensitive to the input parameters. In particular, for the zero-point of the forward-backward asymmetry 16)GeV2 2 in the standard model, we get q(0)(2)=(4.07+0.16-0.13)GeV2. The scale dependence of q(0)(2) is discussed in detail.

Abstract:We discuss the rescattering effects in decays B→π+K. The picture wetake is very simple: first, B decay into K*ρ, then K* and ρ go tokaon and pion by exchanging a pion. We find a up to ten percent CP violationasymmetry rate. We also discuss its correction to the constraint of angleγ proposed recently.

Since the K$\eta$ system is almost decoupled from the even-spin strange mesons under flavor SU$(3)$ symmetry, those quasi-two-body $B$ decays with subprocess $K^*_0(1430) \to K \eta$ shall have quite small branching ratios and are not taken into account in this work. We also estimate that the branching fraction for $K_0^{*}(1430)\to K\eta^{\prime}$ is about one fifth of that for $K_0^{*}(1430)\to K\pi$. The predictions for the relevant decays are expected to be tested by the LHCb and Belle-II experiments in the future.

The rare decay $B^+ \to K^+\ell^+\ell^-(ν\barν)$ under the QCD sum rules approach

Abstract:In the paper, we conduct a detailed investigation of the rare decay processes of charged meson, specifically $B^+ \to K^+\ell^+\ell^-$ with $\ell=(e,\mu,\tau)$ and $B^+ \to K^+\nu\bar{\nu}$. These processes involve flavor-changing-neutral-current (FCNC) transitions, namely $b\to s\ell^+\ell^-$ and $b\to s\nu\bar{\nu}$. The essential components $B\to K$ scalar, vector and tensor transition form factors (TFFs) are calculated by using the QCD light-cone sum rules approach up to next-to-leading order QCD corrections. In which, the kaon twist-2 and twist-3 light-cone distribution amplitudes are calculated from both the QCD sum rules within the framework of background field theory and the light-cone harmonic oscillator model. The TFFs at large recoil point are $f_+^{BK}(0)=f_0^{BK}(0) =0.328_{-0.028}^{+0.032}$ and $f_{\rm T}^{BK}(0)=0.277_{-0.024}^{+0.028}$, respectively. To achieve the behavior of those TFFs in the whole $q^2$-region, we extrapolate them by utilizing the simplified $z(q^2)$-series expansion. Furthermore, we compute the differential branching fractions with respect to the squared dilepton invariant mass for the two different decay channels and present the corresponding curves. Our predictions of total branching fraction are ${\cal B}(B^+\to K^+ e^+ e^-)=6.633_{-1.070}^{+1.341}\times 10^{-7}$, ${\cal B}(B^+\to K^+ \mu^+ \mu^-)=6.620_{-1.056}^{+1.323}\times 10^{-7}$, ${\cal B}(B^+\to K^+ \tau^+ \tau^-)=1.760_{-0.197}^{+0.241}\times 10^{-7}$, and ${\cal B}(B^+\to K^+ \nu\bar{\nu})=4.135_{-0.655}^{+0.820}\times 10^{-6}$, respectively. Lastly, the observables such as the lepton universality $\mathcal{R}_{K}$ and the angular distribution `flat term' $F_{\rm H}^\ell$ are given, which show good agreement with the theoretical and experimental predictions.

Abstract:The recently released data on differential cross sections for γn→K0Σ0 from the A2 and BGOOD Collaborations are used to examine the theoretical model constructed in our previous work [ Phys. Rev. D 105 , 094017 (2022)] for γn→K+Σ− , and it is found that the model predictions are able to qualitatively reproduce the A2 data but fail to describe the BGOOD data. Then, a combined analysis of the γn→K0Σ0 and γn→K+Σ− reactions is performed to revise the theoretical model. Due to the inconsistency problem, the A2 and BGOOD data are included in fits separately. In the case of including the A2 data, both the data for γn→K0Σ0 and γn→K+Σ− can be fairly well described, and the contributions from the N(1710)1/2+ , N(1880)1/2+ , N(1900)3/2+ , and Δ(1920)3/2+ resonances are found to dominate the reactions in the lower energy region. While in the case of including the BGOOD data, although most of the data for the γn→K+Σ− reaction can be described with the exception of some noticeable discrepancies on beam asymmetries at lower energies, the BGOOD data for γn→K0Σ0 can be only qualitatively described, and the contributions from the N(1710)1/2+ , N(1900)3/2+ , and Δ(1910)1/2+ resonances are found to dominate the reactions in the lower energy region. In both cases, the t -channel K*(892) exchange is found to play a crucial role at forward angles in the higher energy region. Abstract:Using the data sample of about 33 pb−1 collected at and around 3.773 GeV with the BES-II detector at the BEPC collider, we have studied inclusive K¯0/K0 and K∗(892)∓ decays of D0 and D+ mesons. The branching fractions for the inclusive K¯0/K0 and K∗(892)− decays are measured to be BF(D0→K¯0/K0X)=(47.6±4.8±3.0)%, BF(D+→K¯0/K0X)=(60.5±5.5±3.3)%, BF(D0→K∗−X)=(15.3±8.3±1.9)% and BF(D+→K∗−X)=(5.7±5.2±0.7)%. The upper limits of the branching fractions for the inclusive K∗(892)+ decays are set to be BF(D0→K∗+X)<3.6% and BF(D+→K∗+X)<20.3% at 90% confidence level.
Re-analysis of rare radiative $Ξ_b^-\rightarrow Ξ^- γ$ decay in QCD

Abstract:The upper limit of the branching ratio of the rare $\Xi_b^-\rightarrow \Xi^- \gamma$ decay is obtained as $BR(\Xi_b^-\rightarrow \Xi^- \gamma)<1.3\times10^{-4}$ by the LHCb. In the present work we study this decay within the light cone QCD sum rules employing the $\Xi_b$ distribution amplitudes. At first stage, the form factors entering the $\Xi_b^-\rightarrow \Xi^- \gamma$ decay are obtained. Next, using the results for the form factors the corresponding branching ratio for this decay is estimated to be $BR(\Xi_b^-\rightarrow \Xi^- \gamma)=(4.8\pm 1.3)\times 10^{-5}$. This value lies below the upper limit established by the LHCb collaboration. Our finding for the branching ratio is also compared with the results of the other theoretical approaches existing in the literature.

Branching ratio and $CP$ violation of $B\to Kπ$ decays in a modified perturbative QCD approach

Abstract:We calculate the branching ratio and $CP$ violations for $B\to K\pi$ decays in a modified perturbative QCD approach based on $k_{T}$ factorization. The resummation effect of the transverse momentum regulates the endpoint singularity. Using the $B$ meson wave function that is obtained in the relativistic potential model, soft contribution cannot be suppressed effectively by Sudakov factor. Soft scale cutoff and soft $BK$, $B\pi$ and $K\pi$ form factors have to be introduced. The most important next-to-leading-order contributions from the vertex corrections, the quark loops, and the magnetic penguins are also considered. In addition, the contribution of the color-octet hadronic matrix element is included which is essentially of long-distance dynamics. Our predictions for branching ratios and $CP$ violations are in good agreement with the experimental data. Especially the theoretical result of dramatic difference between the $CP$ violations of $B^+\to K^+\pi^0$ and $B^0\to K^+\pi^-$ is consistent with experimental measurement, therefore the $K\pi$ puzzle in $B$ decays can be resolved in our way of the modified perturbative QCD approach.

Abstract:Abstract In this work, we study the resonance contributions to the decay $$B^-\rightarrow K^+K^-\pi ^-$$ B - → K + K - π - , which is dominated by the scalar $$f_0(980), K_0^*(1430)$$ f 0 ( 980 ) , K 0 ∗ ( 1430 ) , vector $$\rho (1450), \phi (1020), K^*(892)$$ ρ ( 1450 ) , φ ( 1020 ) , K ∗ ( 892 ) and tensor $$f_2(1270)$$ f 2 ( 1270 ) resonances. The three-body decay is reduced to various quasi two-body decays, where the B meson firstly decays into a resonance and a pion or a kaon, subsequently the resonance decays into the other two final-state mesons. The quasi two-body decays are calculated within the light-cone sum rule approach utilizing the leading twist B meson light-cone distribution amplitudes. Finally, the decay branching fraction contributions from each resonance is calculated. Some of them are compatible with experiment or previous theoretical works. Including the effects of non-resonant and final-state interactions, we also evaluate the total branching fraction.

Abstract:Recently, the LHCb collaboration has observed the decays $\Xi^0_{b}\to\Xi^+_{c}D^-_s$ and $\Xi^-_{b}\to\Xi^0_{c}D^-_s$. They measured the relative branching fractions times the ratio of beauty-baryon production cross-sections $\mathcal{R}(\frac{\Xi^0_b}{\Lambda_b})\equiv\frac{\sigma(\Xi_b^0)}{\sigma(\Lambda^0_b)}\times\frac{B(\Xi^0_{b}\to\Xi^+_{c}D^-_s)}{B(\Lambda^0_{b}\to\Lambda^+_{c}D^-_s)}$ and $\mathcal{R}(\frac{\Xi^-_b}{\Lambda_b})\equiv\frac{\sigma(\Xi^-_b)}{\sigma(\Lambda^0_b)}\times\frac{B(\Xi^-_{b}\to\Xi^0_{c}D^-_s)}{B(\Lambda^0_{b}\to\Lambda^+_{c}D^-_s)}$. Once the ratio $\frac{\sigma(\Xi_b^0)}{\sigma(\Lambda^0_b)}$ or $\frac{\sigma(\Xi_b^-)}{\sigma(\Lambda^0_b)}$ is known, one can determine the relative branching fractions which can be used to exam the mixing of $\Xi_c$ and $\Xi'_c$. In previous literature, $\Xi_c$ and $\Xi'_c$ were assumed to belong to SU(3)$_F$ antitriple and sextet, respectively. However, recent experimental measurements such as the ratio $\Gamma(\Xi_{cc}\to\Xi_c\pi^+)/\Gamma(\Xi_{cc}\to\Xi'_c\pi^+)$ indicate the spin-flavor structures of $\Xi_{c}$ and $\Xi'_{c}$ are a mixture of $\Xi^{\bar 3}_{c}$ and $\Xi^{6}_{c}$. The exact value of mixing angle $\theta$ is still under debate. In theoretical models, the mixing angle was fitted to be about $16.27^\circ\pm2.30^\circ$ or $85.54^\circ\pm2.30^\circ$ based on decay channels $\Xi_{cc} \to\Xi^{(')}_{cc} $. While in lattice calculation, a small angle ($1.2^\circ\pm0.1^\circ$) is preferred. To address such discrepancy and test the mixing of $\Xi_c$ and $\Xi'_c$, here we propose the analysis of semileptonic and non-leptonic decays of $\Xi_{b}\to\Xi_{c}$ and $\Xi_{b}\to\Xi^{'}_{c}$. We calculate the decay rate of $\Xi_{b}\to\Xi_{c}$ and $\Xi_{b}\to\Xi^{'}_{c}$ based on light-front quark model and study the effect of the mixing angle on the ratios of weak decays $\Xi_{b}\to\Xi_{c}$ and $\Xi_{b}\to\Xi^{'}_{c}$.....

Branching Ratios for $B \to K^* γ$ and $B \to ργ$ Decays in Next-to-Leading Order in the Large Eneregy Effective Theory

Abstract:We calculate the so-called hard spectator corrections in ${\cal O} (\alpha_s)$ in the leading-twist approximation to the decay widths for $B \to K^{*} \gamma$ and $B \to \rho \gamma$ decays and their charge conjugates, using the Large Energy Effective Theory (LEET) techniques. Combined with the hard vertex and annihilation contributions, they are used to compute the branching ratios for these decays in the next-to-leading order (NLO) in the strong coupling $\alpha_s$ and in leading power in $\Lambda_{\rm QCD}/M_B$. These corrections are found to be large, leading to the inference that the theoretical branching ratios for the decays $B \to K^* \gamma$ in the LEET approach can be reconciled with current data only for significantly lower values of the form factors than their estimates in the QCD sum rule and Lattice QCD approaches. However, the form factor related uncertainties mostly cancel in the ratios ${\cal B}(B \to \rho \gamma)/{\cal B}(B \to K^* \gamma)$ and $\Delta = (\Delta^{+0}+ \Delta^{-0})/2$, where $\Delta^{\pm 0} = \Gamma (B^\pm \to \rho^\pm \gamma)/ [2 \Gamma (B^0 (\bar B^0)\to \rho^0 \gamma)] - 1$, and hence their measurements will provide quantitative information on the standard model parameters, in particular the ratio of the CKM matrix elements $| V_{td}/V_{ts}|$ and the inner angle $\alpha$ of the CKM-unitarity triangle. We also calculate direct CP asymmetries for the decays $B^\pm \to \rho^\pm \gamma$ and $B^0/\bar B^0 \to \rho^0 \gamma$ and find, in conformity with the observations made in the existing literature, that the hard spectator contributions significantly reduce the asymmetries arising from the vertex corrections.

Abstract:Based on a bound constituent gluon picture and the gluon anomaly in QCD, I argue that the decay branching ratios of the 2(++) glueball candidate xi(2230) may satisfy B(xi --> eta'eta') greater than or equal to 0.6B(xi --> eta eta'), B(xi --> eta eta') greater than or equal to 5.6B(xi --> eta eta) and B(xi --> eta eta) much greater than B(xi --> pi pi). These features might provide a useful test for xi(2230).

Abstract:In this work, we make a detailed analysis on the penguin-dominant processes B(s)0→φφ→(K+K−)(K+K−) in the perturbative QCD (PQCD) approach. In addition to the dominant P -wave resonance, the scalar background f0(980)→K+K− is also accounted for. We improve the Gegenbauer moments in KK two-meson distribution amplitudes by fitting the PQCD factorization formulas to measured branching ratios of three-body and four-body B decays. We extract the branching ratios of two-body B(s)0→φφ decays from the corresponding four-body-decay modes and calculate the relevant polarization fractions together with two relative phases φ∥,⊥ , which are consistent with the previous theoretical predictions. The PQCD predictions for the "true" triple product asymmetries (TPAs) are zero, which are expected in the standard model due to the vanishing weak phase difference, and support the current data reported by the CDF and LHCb Collaborations. A large "fake" TPA AT−fake1=30.4% of the decay Bs0→φφ→(K+K−)(K+K−) is predicted for the first time, which indicates the presence of the significant final-state interactions. Revisiting $B\to K^*π$ and $B\to Kρ$ decays using the modified perturbative QCD approach

Abstract:We revisit $B\to K^*\pi$ and $B\to K\rho$ decay processes using the modified perturbative QCD approach, which is developed based on the perturbative QCD approach with a few improvements. A critical infrared cutoff scale $\mu_c$ is introduced to separate hard and soft contributions in the decay process. Hard contributions with scale $\mu$ larger than $\mu_c$ are calculated with perturbative QCD, and soft contributions with $\mu<\mu_c$ are described in terms of soft transition and production form factors. In addition, color-octet contributions are considered phenomenologically. The branching fractions and $CP$ violations of $B\to K^*\pi$, $K\rho$ decays are calculated. With appropriate parameter inputs, the theoretical results can be in good agreement with experimental data.
